Thrilled to find a Banh Mi place has opened close to work... This is the owner's second outlet, building the apparent success of their first shop in Glenelg.
First the down-side, This is all that has cost them the 4 stars that they probably deserve in this review. Their rolls are currently (Sept 2016) $7.50 and $7.90. Now, I may have been spoilt for choice and by the fierce competition in the CBD in previous jobs, but I've rather got used to $5.50 - $6.50.
Anyway, that aside, there are the usual nibbles - Dim Sim, Spring Rolls and some nice looking cold rolls (to be tried on a later visit). The Noodle salads look really good and there is a varied Pho menu. But it's the Banh Mi that gets me in the door.
So, my usual order - Roast pork, hold the cucumber, extra coriander. Yum
Absolutely no complaints, although at nearly eight bucks, they could be a little more generous with the meat. The pork is flavorsome with a reasonable amount of crispy crackling, salad is fresh, the roll is warm and crusty and they they understand the request for extra coriander (many places still tend to be a bit shy).
With only the slight caveat about the price - a thumbs-up read more
