I'm not that high-maintenance about my nails and I rarely write negative reviews, but a recent trip to this place needs to be put out into the yelp universe. Friendly people working there and a nice facility - it's new and the equipment is nice. However, it's quiet as a morgue except for a tv tuned to some regular station by the pedicure stations, commercials and all. There is no relaxing music being piped in, nothing calming or meditative. Just the buzz of silent customers having their nails mechanically buffed. Just a little light classical or "spa" music would make a major difference. There is no warm, bubbly, good smelling water to soak your nails in. No hand massage. No nice products being used. It's just tepid water soak in a less than clean dish. No frills is one thing, but I wasn't given a menu to look at other options, so not sure if they exist. This is a place for a polish change only. Don't expect to relax here. My main concern is the lack of good hygiene. They do use tools from a new autoclaved bag, but not ALL the tools. They are using very dirty buffing squares and files. Very dirty. When the tech first nicked one cuticle, I told him to take it easy, not so hard. Then it happened again. Two cuticles bleeding, I stopped the process and told him I'd pay for what work he had done and I left. He was very nice, but seemed confused. That's not something that should happen once, let alone twice. These reviews typically reflect the experience of one interaction, with one employee and mine was unfortunate. My tech seemed very green. Language is always an issue at nail salons, but it's never been a problem for me at any other place (I realized after leaving, I should have stuck with my normal place instead of trying something new because it was near my office). Nice facility, nice people, fair prices. But bad practices, terrible ambience, and they're not using all sterile or new tools, which is very concerning. Covid comment - Delta is surging and hospitals are full in the area. If you care about such things, employees were not wearing masks and there were no screens for distancing etc. Nail stations and other customers not spaced at all. You may or may not care about that, but it's worth pointing out. read more

This is by far the best nail salon in college station! I am so picky with nail salons especially in regards to their cleanliness. This salon is beautiful inside, extremely clean, using new tools for each pedicure (love this!) and taking their time. Every time I come in I leave beyond happy with my service and a paint job that lasts me weeks and weeks! I'm still not happy with my nails I'm mortified. Not only did I get hurt my friend got injured too (by getting clipped so many times by the nail clippers cutting to close) the guy doing my nails was just down right RUDE and not listening to what the customer wants. I asked for a stiletto nail tip but as short as he can do will be fine (because I don't like long stilettos, just some nail artists can't do to short to make them not look weird ya know?) This man put square tips on me, never asked me if I liked it or not while I was gazing at my nails In confusion. After I stopped him telling him this isn't what I wanted he filed them to a point....there wasn't even plastic tips at this point and the tips of my nails looked like damn nipples.. I asked him to restart because I wasn't happy with the outcome. And he literally got mad and was tossing tools down aggressively, and mumbling under his breath about me. They even used 3 different kinds of tips on my friend(from 3 different boxes some had points some didn't) 1. Fix your customer service because I'm not paying $40 for something I DONT LIKE! & I'm still unhappy with my set. 2. If they customer tells you that they aren't happy don't get mad and start aggressively tossing products on your table in front of me. 3. He left out so many steps on my nails, I didn't even get cuticle oil! I have nail dust under the matte coat I have so my nails look gritty. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I live in the William D. Fitch area, and I like to support my local businesses. I usually go to Viva Nails, however, I was in a time crunch and this place was closer. I should have known better! No one said hi when I walked in, they just looked at me. After getting someone's attention for solar nails, and another customer getting service before me even though she came after me, I finally sat down in a chair. The guy that did my nails was very unfriendly. I shouldn't have let him touch me, because he has bad energy. I had to point out to him that a couple of nails were uneven, (he didn't say anything, but thank God he fixed them) and overall, I AM NOT happy with my nails. He set the powder too far away from the cutilcle, so it looks like I need a fill already. The powder was not evenly distributed around my nail, there are gaps! I was so frustrated, I just wanted to leave. I wanted to have a good experience, but I did not. DO NOT GO HERE. Head into town and go to Star Nails or Viva Nails. Love this place. I will start with how clean it is. I am a big germ freak so the first thing I noticed was the replaceable plastic inserts at the pedicure stations! They change them out after every use so you're guaranteed a clean pedi bath! Not only do you leave with beautiful polish, but the massages are the best! No matter what pedicure option you pick, you get a great leg and foot massage-totally worth it! They took their time, were very friendly, and we're also very talented. I got a shellac French manicure, which can sometimes be difficult for people, but Sam did a great job making sure they were all even and the right width! The man (he did not offer me his name - in fact, he barely spoke at all) that sits at the first station to the left of the reception desk did my nails this morning and was barely cordial. I went in this morning and there were 2 ladies already getting their nails done. I was greeted with "what do you need?" from behind a mask. I said I need to get a new powder and I was "waived" to sit down and wait. When it was my turn, he just said "color?" (again from behind a mask) and I showed him a few ideas from Pinterest. Nothing too terribly wild or difficult, he just shook his head no. So, I pointed out the one that was the least difficult and said, "You can't do this, maybe?" And again, all I got was, "color?" I picked out 2 colors and showed him, but he just seemed terribly put out by the entire thing. He finally sat down to remove the old powder from my nails. He has no control on how "hot" the dremmel gets. (If you get acrylic nails, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.) I had to pull back at least 3 times because he was burning me. I really should have left, but I hate causing a scene. I decided it would just be easier on myself if he did just one color, plain all over, so he didn't have to put any effort in. (Honestly, I didn't want to pay anymore to him that I needed to.) The job he did applying the powder was fine. My nails look presentable. No one else greeted me or acknowledged my existence and I didn't really see any of the staff being particularly friendly with their customers, either. if you are looking for a salon where the techs are FRIENDLY, where you are made to feel like your business is welcome, where they are not afraid to try any of the newer styles of acrylic designs.....THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! read more

When I started questioning she put a coat on and dipped my already finished nails in the acrylic powder. Besides that wait and amount of time I spent there I was also cut very badly THREE TIMES! When I tried to speak to manager they wanted to know what I'd say and said I needed to come back because I wasn't bleeding. Horrible management, service and just overall environment. Other reviews almost turned us away from this place, but it came recommended by the person we asked, so we continued. My husband and I had pedicure and I had a manicure and added shellac polish on both. My toes are by far the prettiest they have ever been from a pedicure. She cleaned them up better than anyone has ever before. My husband was so relaxed he fell asleep, and the girls and I giggled every time he let out a little snore. We had Lisa, Anna, and Lily. I love my nails also, she worked hard cleaning up my cuticles also. I would say I was unlucky to go to Lucky Nails. Without going into each negative point of my experience, please just look at what my nails looked like when I left. I had dip on my nails and requested that they be removed and that I get a manicure. I was not offered a top coat which would have made it appear better. 3 out of 7 of my nails are bloody, and the nail on my thumb has a tear in it. It is going to take me at least 6 months to grow out the damage done to my nails. read more

I went here one time previous to get my eyebrows waxed and had a fine experience. After that, I decided to try it again for nails, as it was convenient. I will not be back. I went in with daughter and requested solar nails. The man pretty aggressively filed my existing nails down, the proceeded to do dip nails. As soon as he dipped he first nail, I said, "I would like solar please". He told that "this is solar", which is false and proceeded to do my nails without stopping. At that point I just let it go and figured it was too late. They look fine, but I'm not a fan of dip and it was not what I asked for. It's frustrating to request a service and pay for it, and have the provider give you whatever they want instead of what you ask for. My 5 year old also got her nails and toes painted. I understand kids can be frustrating because they can be antsy, but the nail tech working on her was visibly annoyed and kept rolling her eyes. It was so apparent that another tech came up and tried to take over because she was being so rude. They also did not do the colors on her toes as she wanted, but instead how the tech felt like it. I hope that was just a language barrier, but based on her attitude I'm not sure that's the case. read more

They cut into my wife's cuticles on multiple fingers on both her hands making her bleed and when she said that they really hurt her they were rude and disrespectful towards her. They then proceeded to put an unknown bright blue chemical in an unlabeled bottle on her hands which started to make her fingers burn. My wife then proceeded to ask to speak to the manager/owner and they told her no because they wanted to know what she was going to say. Love this place!! Everything in the salon is so clean and the staff are so friendly. They give you great massages for both pedicures and manicures--none of those 5 second ones that don't feel very good. I walked in with my 3 daughters (14 ,11 ,10) and immediately was greeted with a rude and blunt welcoming. With only about 3 people in the salon, the man who obviously was the manager or owner told us the wait was 25 minutes! We waited and it ended up being 10 minutes. The owner/manager did my nails and was obviously annoyed the entire time he was doing my nails. He continuously would do the opposite of anything I asked, (he would not paint to my cuticle, I asked him to fix it he ignored) the service was awful and they only cared for the people that had no kids.
