This place is so very good. I moved here recently and have been searching for new places to eat. It's not always easy for me to find something I'm happy I spent money on, but this was so worth it! $14.99 for a big plate that you can load whatever veggies, meats, and noodles/rice on and the chef grills it on flat tops in front of you. Was very disappointed. Not so much in the quality and taste , but in the confusion of advertisement. It is called a buffet and looks like a buffet and is priced as a buffet, but after paying we realized this is not a Chinese buffet but it is actually in fact a Mongolian grill. I love Mongolian grill food but it was just a disappointment because that's not what we were expecting. It's also very overpriced for a Mongolian grill and they don't allow second bowls as all others I've been to. Every Mongolian Grill is an all you can eat first off, this place is a 1 and done, then they give you a Styrofoam box to put your food into, grill it, and then pour it into another Styrofoam box for you to eat plastic in your food, There is zero staff to help you, only the owner cook and his wife, and obviously doesn't care about serving food in melted plastic containers to their guests. read more

They've reopened as a Mongolian grill only. They have beef, pork loin, chicken breast, and dark chicken meat. They also have chow mien and rice noodles. They have a large selection of vegetables, sauces and seasonings. They have you select your ingredients and put them in a foam to-go box. The chef cooks your food, and puts it in a clean to-go box, discarding the other one. It's $10.50 per box, and you can only go through one time. However, you can stack as much as you like in the box and eat the meal there, or take it with you. I've done both. I had lunch, and there was still plenty left for dinner. I'm going to be super blunt and honest about this. It's sooo rare I say ANYTHING anymore in today's world due to drama. I'm more mad I came to Yelp and seen a bunch of 5 stars and believed them. I'm more mad I didn't stick up for ourselves and leave. Our family came in. It was empty. Nobody upfront. Chairs in front were drawn all over with pens. That should have been our first sign. We went in with the owner/manager (it looked like) and host, sitting in a no sitting zone, marked with hand written signs and strings everywhere, playing on their phones. The first half of the building where we sit was filled with trash, clutter, kids toys, chairs and boxes. That should have been another warning. We paid for our stuff without being warned they only serve water unless you get into their cooler box behind you. Host did not tell us this until we paid. I thought dang, that would have been nice to be warned. Anyways, we get our styrofoam boxes, (not plates) we go find a seat at an empty table. We go to get our food from the hot tables. There is stains on the hot tables, melting stickers, tons of tinfoil on the sides covering the hot tables. (idk what was under them, I was scared). Anyways. AT LEAST the food looked fresh. I was relieved. Everything is hand written all over the building. So you have 20 signs to sort to figure out what you're doing ingredient wise. The sauces have this sign at like 8 ft and I'm 5'4, so didn't see it. It's above the hot tables and can't even see it or notice if you're short cause the lamps are above your head covering them. So we're guessing what will taste good for our food. We didn't notice the signs til we stood far enough back putting our food down near the chef. Host nowhere in sight, chef is alone behind the grill. I'm dumb for not leaving and getting money back in the first place. Seeing the fresh food helped a bit I'm sure. Anyways, chef alone is trying to hammer out everyone's stuff-out as fast as he can, which I can't blame him, being alone. He burns my moms food, my dad looked at his food eating it like he's in prison. My husband pushes his plate aside and says he tried which tasted awful. I gagged tasting his. Mine I ate because I felt bad for wasting food, my daughter had a grand old time cause hers looked immaculate, my two year old niece had a blast with the chop sticks. So in the end, at least the two kids had fun. But we also used the rest room 20 minutes later and thank god for the mall bathrooms. End of the day. Glad we didn't get food poisoning, and I learned a valuable lesson. Walk out if your gut says don't do it, don't be scared of how you look when walking out. Just do it. read more

Sorry this place has gone down hill fast. To bad because it was fairly good a while back. Food was pretty much horrible. Some was so over cooked we complained. Hardly ever complain but we couldn't let it go. Some of the salad vegetables looked rotten. What not take them away. Makes it look like everything else would be rotten. Just glad we didn't get sick. Horrible food and horrible service. Supposedly open at noon..no food on buffet at 1215. They are closed on Monday so I'm guessing that the food was all reheated from Sunday. 3 or so years ago this place was great and the choices of authentic food were many. Then many of the good selections went away and they commenced with a Mongolian Grill mainly. Too expensive and not that interesting. We did not go back for years. Than out of the blue a friend told us they had dropped their prices and reduced the Mongolian portion. The food was mediocre at best. Staff was even worse. One of the staff went out to put more food out and literally pushed my wife out of his way! Another went out and grabbed his trays and threw them onto the heaters and then shoved the first guy into the back and started screaming at him. The first thing was the odor. It smelled like urine. I don't know why we stayed after that. Most of the food was ok. The place looked clean but they truly need to feel clean their floors and replace the carpet with something else to get rid of the smell. So Im putting this review up so someone can read one thats new. Ive lived here in coos county for most of my life, and have been coming to this restaurant since I was a kid. Ive eaten here more than a few times quite recently to gauge for myself the overall quality of this restaurant, so hopefully I gain some credibility by doing so. Let me start by saying the dining room is absolutely beautiful. Seems like theres an abundance of decor that is very impressive if you asked me. My favorite thing the have in that department is the wood carvings in between the tables. Its a series of thin wooden portraits of what I believe is Chinese scenery in between two glass panels. Those are a really nice touch. Second thing ill say, the service is exceptional. I believe so because its one very nice lady ( who is quite beautiful by the way) who runs the whole front of the shop, and one guy who does the cooking. They also have their children help out when they can, which to me shows that the restaurant is important to their family. Never once was I not greeted when I walked in the door, even though its a lot of work for one gal. Third, the food was great. Unfortunately, as I was eating I watched an unhappy customer berate this kind woman because of the freshness of the food. Its these types of situations that really test my faith in the goodness of people. She made a huge fuss about it, then proceeded to try and flip the fault onto this poor woman. I won't explain every detail, but I was absolutely disgusted by this persons behavior. That, you can surely believe. The unhappy customer also happened to have kids, and on a side note, I pity those children for having parents like them. Then, literally two minutes after that, the chef started bringing out brand new fresh dishes to the buffet. It just goes to show that people can be way too impatient, and as a result, they miss out on the only thing they wanted, although I don't think she was that mean because of "fresh food". Every dish that I tried there this evening was delicious. Trust me, I tried as many as I could before I tapped out from fullness. My advice is to get there as early as you can, but above all, be patient. I hope it will work out in your favor. People are way too caught up in the belief that food service should be absolutley perfect and should cater to their every whim. It pains me to see such hard working folks get treated like that. We should all be thankful for the fact that we even have the luxury to eat at restaurants whose sole purpose is to serve us wonderful meals. Give this place an earnest try, and I think you will find that the meals that these folks prepare for all of us, to the best of their ability, are on par or better than the rest of the Chinese restaurants in the city of Coos Bay. I agree with most of the writers. The quality of the food HAS gone down in the last few years. I eat here once every few months in hopes that the old quality will return. I do pick through each dish choice to find the newest add, so I get as fresh as possible. The Men's room toilet has been out of order for at least 4 years and counting. We've eaten at Lucky Dragon many times over the last few years and never had a problem. The food has always been quite good, in fact much better than any other Chinese buffet I've been to. I have been a professional cook myself in the past, and I was raised by a professional cook, I know good food when I taste it. Every time I've eaten there has been a very good experience. Just went to Lucky Dragon for my 18 birthday dinner. As the years passed this place has gotten worse and worse. The seafood, meat, and fried food seemed to be cooked once then left out all day. We arrived at 6 o'clock for dinner and there where a total of 6 people their. Overall felt like garbage after the meal. This dessert is ok but ice cream is scoop your own. Tried this place out yesterday, honestly it was very bad. The buffet was very limited, the staff have rotten attitudes, and the mongolian grill was an experience in itself. It had no meat! No where was that posted no meat was available. Wife and I give up on the buffet because it was awful and tried the mongolian grill. We loaded up our plates and ringed the cook, who was not present. This guy was a jerk. Anyway, as he reached for the plates I asked what meat was available, figuring they kept it behind the counter. He proclaimed "we have no meat!". So veggie grill it was, he took the plates out of sight to cook them. When finished her brought them back to the counter and dropped them and walked away. Jerk. So we tried it anyway, it was all burned and I can only imagine what he did to the food out of sight. I absolutely do not recommend this low end, garbage serving, bad attitude staff to anyone! Read the other reviews here, many are bad.I suspect the good rated ones are from staff, owner, friends, etc. It truly is awful. If you go, you have been warned. read more

We are new to the area and this was the first Chinese buffet we found. Unfortunately, we will keep looking for a new favorite Chinese restaurant. Although the buffet is large, there is a limited selection of actual Chinese food. A large portion is dedicated to salad and desserts. The food was underwhelming at best and the sweet & sour sauce was downright gross. For what is offered, the prices are way too high. We won't be going back. read more
