It's a food truck that also has other items like amazing hot dogs.. etc The pho is fresh and very good. Decided to try this food truck based upon all the excellent reviews. My hopes were high that I finally had a pho place near me instead of driving to the Vietnamese area of Tempe to get my pho fix. I ordered a small bowl of pho ($12 as of Oct. 2024). Hubby had a street taco ($2.50). To qualify, I have made authentic pho and I have had pho in Vietnamese restaurants from coast to coast. It saddens me to say my bowl of pho was nothing more than overly salted beef broth with the usual pho additions of sliced brisket, a generous helping of sliced green onions and appropriate rice noodles. It comes with lime wedges, jalapeño slices, fresh raw bean sprouts and basil (not Thai Basil) on the side to adjust to your taste. Chili oil, Hoisin sauce and Sriracha are available. There was none of the expected complex pho flavor profiles found in this soup. No star anise, no cinnamon, no deep flavor from roasted bones and charred aromatic vegetables and long simmering. I didn't finish my small bowl. When clearing my table and taking my bowl to the dirty plate bucket, I noticed all the other bowls deposited there also went unfinished - something unheard of in good pho place. If you've never had pho, this version is fine, but it's more like a Vietnamese style soup. Sort of tastes like Pho, but not REAL pho. If you want good Authentic pho, you will have to drive to Tempe in the vicinity of Mekong Plaza and H-Mart to get the REAL deal. Oh! My husband's street taco? One of the smallest tacos we've ever seen and not a good value. It was beef, with cilantro, and a chili sauce with 3 slices of radish and a lime wedge. Lucky Dog may have once been a gem, but I think it's lost its sparkle. read more

Best pho around. Only pho around? Anyways it was great. We moved to Prescott from Dallas in August and have only found our favorite soup in Phoenix or Flagstaff. So it was a treat to find this little spot in Chino Valley. We order the pho, a bhan mi sandwich and a couple of pork tacos. Although the soup was a tad too salty for my taste, it was still delicious and had all of the great flavors a good pho has. The beef was good and tender and the noodles were good in consistency. All the typical toppings were included and very fresh. We will definitely be hitting up this spot on our weekend hiking adventures. read more

I couldn't believe it when I heard the best pho in the whole quad city area was in a hot dog/taco food truck parked on a dirt lot in Chino Valley! But a Vietnamese lady recommended it so I gave it a try and it was a good thing I did. Lots of beef and fresh vegetables and the flavor was very authentic. I'm so grateful there's a place in the quad city area that serves real pho! (The one at Koko Grill was absolutely tasteless). I just wish they would also offer bun and spring rolls and egg rolls and... and... I'm hoping one day they'll expand into a full-fledged Vietnamese restaurant. As everyone has already said...this is the best dogs and best pho in Chino Valley. My only issue with them is they aren't open outside of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I enjoy this place because of the variety of foods that you can get there. We ordered pho, a Sonoran dog, lemongrass beef banh mi, and pork street tacos. The photo had good flavor, although I didn't care as much for the meat. I do wish they sold meatball pho. the Sonoran dog was really good, and probably the best tasting hot dog I've ever had. The lemongrass beef sandwich was very tasty I had a nice kick from the fresh, thinly sliced jalapeno. The tacos were tasty and the hot salsa gave it a nice kick. Updated my 5 star to this because the last couple of lunches have been so horrible that I threw it away. The chili dog was hard as a rock, and burnt. The pho tasted old. The Lucky Dogs food truck provided the food for my high school 10 year reunion picnic. The food and service was great. Pike, the owner, was great helping plan the menu leading up to the event and had great communication. He consistently followed up and made sure all the details were set prior to the event. I usually find myself having to call people to confirm everything myself but I didn't need to do that, he texted the night before and the morning of to assure me all was ready. We had some issues accessing the park where we had the event, which my my fault, but he was very patient and helped us sort it all out. The food was great and a good price. It was nice that they accepted credit cards too. Everyone there really enjoyed the gourmet hotdogs and the street tacos! The tacos were only 75¢ each! I don't know how she gets her shells so perfect- just the right crisp and not greasy at all. Now the PHO!! Holy smokes.
