I don't know how this experience could have possibly gone any better! I wanted my fireplace inspected and cleaned if necessary, ideally in the next several days in my mind and when I called, he was able to come over to the house within, I'm not kidding, barely an hour! He happened to be on the way to another job and happily offered to stop by after that job was completed. The service was phenomenal. Thoroughly inspected the (gas) fireplace, provided great direction in terms of maintenance of the lava rocks the logs, the whole setup, and got up on the roof to inspect the top of the fireplace and the flue, and even rearranged the gas logs in a formation that is absolutely perfect and I never plan to touch again. All done quickly, incredibly pleasantly and helpfully, and at a VERY reasonable price and a great value. I wouldn't hesitate for a SECOND rehiring Lucky Cricket! read more

They were able to come out quickly and they actually didn't charge us for the full price vent cleaning because there wasn't much to clean out and the hose is so short. Very fast and friendly service. After our encounter with Lucky Cricket for an inspection of our fireplace, I cannot say that I would recommend them. Our home was built in 1968 and the fireplace was never used. Since we planned on using it, we thought it would be a good idea to get it inspected. The gentleman that came to our home gave it a rave review and said it was in perfect condition and an excellent fireplace. However, after his review, he called the owner of Lucky Cricket to fill him in on his assessment. After the phone call he entirely changed his assessment and said that our fireplace would have to be rebuilt from the inside and quoted roughly $3500.00-$4500.00 for the job. This is a major red flag for us. To give it a passing grade and then change the assessment during the same visit is phishy. I don't know if this is a business tactic or if the employee just didn't know what he was doing. Whichever it is, both scenarios are a disservice to homeowners seeking a well-informed and honest opinion. read more

I hired LUCKY CRICKET for a chimney cleaning - they were able to come the next day. They cleaned and inspected it, finding it required some work. I thought on it a few days and then called to schedule the work - again they were able to make an appointment to come pretty quickly. They arrived on time, did the work in almost exactly the estimated time, and the final expense was just under the original quote (original quote for the repair was $1700, but the final price was $1500). They were courteous, clean, efficient, dependable, and hard working. I will certainly be using them again! read more

So I have never actually used air vent cleaning services before, but because we did a full renovation on the house, thought it important before we moved in. Company was professional and friendly, showed up in time, but after they left, I went to check one area where I noticed the vent cover stayed on and it wasn't clean. See pics. While I don't think I should've been able to eat off the vent (so to speak), for paying almost $500, i did expect better than this - and mostly because their website said they take off all vents. Sadly, most of the vents were already off foe the reno - so it would have been easy to take this one off. Disappointing. I did send a note to Lucky Chimney's Contact Us section and waited a few days before posting this to make them aware....but got zero response. Double disppointing. read more

The company performed an inspection prior to cleaning and said the fireplace was in good order (Which it s). However, all of the cleaning was done from inside the house. They went up on the roof to inspect the chimney cap, but never did any cleaning from the top down or into the Smokebox area. I asked why they didn't and was told if they clean from the top it would make too much of a mess in it in the house. A previous company I used placed a cover over the front of the fireplace with their HEPA vacuum running and also cleaned from the top. In my opinion, they should've cleaned from the top and from inside the house, not just inside. read more

When I called to follow up on the late technician,,, had a lengthy conversation about the fact that noone showed up for my 2.30 appt. I was told I would get a call back in 10 min. My next phone call was answered by the same gal I had talked to about 30-40 minutes prior. But, I HAD TO CALL HER BACK, waited about 30 min to do so bc I was being nice and figured she was busy... Anyway, she had zero recollection of me or my voice, or having talked earlier. She asked for my address and said that their 2.30 was at "such n such" other address. .... They had top marks for chimney sweeps in Tucson, so we tried them out. Michael answered right away and was able to set up an inspection over the phone. Good flexibility for the appointment! George showed up on time and called ahead. He did the inspection and noted on the paperwork "Do not use." He listed what needed to be fixed with pricing. He then offered to install a gas log set since we had a gas line in the fireplace. My wife and I discussed briefly and went for it. He just happened to have a "new" one in his vehicle. He brought in the log set in an open box that wasn't even the same set. He installed it and it works but looks used. Later we realized he took our fireplace grate without asking. He said it was too big for our fireplace so I planned to use it in the outdoor firepit. I spoke to Michael the next day and he claimed the logs had been installed at another customer's home but wasn't used. He said he would have George call to explain everything and they would bring back our fireplace grate. George never called and they dropped off a rusted grate in terrible shape that is 6 inches shorter than ours was. Ours was in great shape with no rust. After dropping nearly $1k I'm quite disappointed in their actions. read more
