All-vegan cafe, with brunch on the weekends, and otherwise offering sandwiches and baked goods. We stopped in on a Wednesday morning for breakfast. I got the "Black Metal Latte" (€5) -- I had too, as I love black metal -- which is just a latte with charcoal (to add colour) -- very tasty; and my wife got a double espresso. We each ordered their sandwich of the day (€6.50), which seemed to be some sort of vegan tuna salad -- not fishy at all thankfully -- served on a nice bread. We also split a croissant, which was sticky on the outside -- this was fairly mediocre.
Friendly, English-speaking service, and a comfortable environment decorated with old heavy metal and horror film paraphernalia. Fun place. Recommended. We will have to return for their weekend brunch.
EDIT: We returned a couple days later for their weekend brunch, and each got their Full English breakfast (€18). Thebrunch comes with baked beans, mushrooms, vegan bacon, vegan sausage, chickpea scrambled "egg", cheesy toast, roast potatoes, and a tiny piece of corn on the cob. The sausage had a nice texture but wasn't one of the better vegan sausages we'd had. The chickpea scramble was a bit bland. The other items we liked. Portion-wise, it was very satisfying, but €18 is quite a bit for such a thing. Overall, pleasant brunch, but I'm not sure we'd rush back for it. read more
