Atmosphere: Liu Lin is a casual, friendly restaurant with a clean and neat layout. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.
Service: We didn't come in with a reservation, but our server was able to accommodate us by seating us at a table reserved for later that night. We ordered at the counter in front, and the cashier was friendly. We received our food relatively quickly, and the food was hot.
Food: We ordered the Heart-Warming Noodle Soup and the Crispy Chicky Bowl. The Heart-Warming soup wasn't like anything we've tasted before. The mix of herbs and spices was both warm and refreshing, with one spoonful of the broth being able to open up our sinuses. We were surprised to taste the "seafood" in the soup, which mimicked fish balls and shrimp very well. The Crispy Chicky Bowl was also delicious! The "chicky" strips tasted exactly like chicken, were well seasoned and flavorful, and paired well with the vegetables in the bowl.
Overall: As two non-vegans in a vegan restaurant, it didn't feel like we were missing any meat from our meal. Both of our dishes were filling, had a variety of ingredients, and were packed with flavor. In a city known for fries, beer, and chocolate, Liu Lin is a hidden gem that offers such a great introduction to high quality vegan Asian cuisine! read more
