Anonymous - Anonimo - Unknown to the eye. You wouldn't expect an anonymous pizza place in the middle of downtown to be one the best seafood pizzas in the city. I had my doubts as well. It was at a location where the walls had graffiti, and it blended in with the surroundings. Once you step in the heavy doors, your are med with a decor that was indicative of culture and class. The restaurant has many artworks from varying artist, and the open kitchen in the back is beautiful. The menu is simple, which is usually a good indicator of a good pizza place. You really don't want to be overwhelmed with so many different menu items. I ordered the seafood/clam pizza, with the burscetta pizza. Both were delicious. Fresh made flat bread pizza with a drizzle of their garlic oil. It is a divine experience. We also ordered their meat balls, which is basically their meatball sub sandwich with out the bread! Anonimo makes the highest quality and most consistent pizza in Downtown Sacramento. They have about 15-20 options on the menu or you can create your own. They come in two sizes 12" and 18". Everything is made to order, so no individual slices are available. Neapolitan style so no white sauce or chopped pineapple will be found here. The staff at this place is great. They have been through a lot since opening over 18 months ago and I'm optimistic they will continue to provide amazing food in our area for a long time to come. Usually when you walk in the door you're greeted with a "hi, welcome in" and you can take a seat at one of the tables. There is a small bar as well with beer and wine options. For to-go orders it's easy to do online. I'm partial towards the potato pesto for a vegetarian option and all meat when ordering from the menu. The salads are a solid step above most pizza places, and don't miss the burrata plate or cheese bread for something a bit lighter. The meatball sandwich is also great and they offer a vegan version. If you're looking for a deal they have happy hour specials, for example $5 for a 16oz draft and $12 for a small pepperoni pizza. Restaurant brings me back to the old school music like snoop, max dre, run dmc. loved it. Young girl gave us a menu. What yummy pizzas variations. So delicious. My daughter got the meet all sand which which she devoured. Service was great, food was delicious. Loved the thin crust on the pizza. We had 1/2 all meat and the other 1/2 pear and honey procuito. The first time I came here, I loved the pizza. The 2nd time I came back, it was horrible but I thought it was an anomaly or maybe I'd ordered the wrong thing. So I came back a 3rd time and got a relatively simple pizza. (I think it was a margarita.) My archetypal pizza is either Neapolitan, NJ, or, NY style. In my perfect world, dough is slow fermented using natural yeast (sourdough.) I want my pizza wood fired at high temps. I can forgive some of that not being on point, but what I don't want is the taste of sugar in the dough (sacrilege) or to taste sugar in the tomato sauce. I know a lot of Americans like sugar in both of these things, but pizza should not be made this way. And in my simple pizza, dough and sauce tasted of sugar. I don't know what happened that first time. It was early days. I don't know if they changed recipes or if my taste buds were not fully switched on. But after 2 tries in a row, that made me sad, I'm moving on. All that said, it's not terrible and lots of people clearly love it. But if you're a picky pizza person with a love for authentic pizza, this might not be your jam. read more

Let's just say, we definitely like it here. 9/10 Pizza: I would order a 13" ( great size for 2 average eaters) and ask for half and half so you can try different types. By now I have tried many of their pizzas and my favorite is definitely the Old School or Little Italy. I ask for less cheese+extra sauce. With that small adjustment, their pizza is perfection. Not too greasy, and perfect ratio of topping. They provide two different type of oils for you dip your crust in too-its a flavor explosion! My friends really like the Duck Carnitas pizza. Don't be intimidated by the duck. The texture and flavor is nice and pairs well with their sweet potato. I would recommend if you want to experience a unique slice. 8/10 Ambiance: Great place for a date. This is a bar/pizza restaurant that is laid back and casual. So happy we stumbled upon this place through Yelp! The pizza was phenomenal perfectly cooked! The Duck Carnitas Pizza was on the sweeter side but savory. 2, 13 inch pizzas was plenty of food for two people. They provide a spicy oil and garlic oil. My husband enjoyed both I preferred the spicy oil. The IL Fuoco was tasty but a tad spicy so be warned. The service was good and the environment was very relaxed with various paintings on the wall. I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. My friend and I came in on a Thursday around 5:30, there were only a couple of diners at this time. The waitress told us to pick a table. We sat down and waited about 5 mins for her to bring us menus, which she dropped off and walked away before being able to ask for waters. We already knew what we wanted, we specifically came in to try their seasonal peach pizza and dessert pizza. After another 10 mins she finally came back and asked what we wanted. We ordered and asked for 2 waters. The waters came in these tiny little wine glasses, definitely a poor choice, especially when it's so hot out. We had to ask for refills often. There appeared to only be one server and one chef. The server didn't seem like she wanted to be there, which really took the vibe down. The pizza was good, nice flavors and balance. The dessert pizza came out missing the key ingredient that made it a dessert, caramel drizzle. When we asked about it missing, the server said, "Oh yea, we're all out." We told her that would have been nice to know because we wouldn't have ordered it. She did comp the dessert for her mistake, but it was disappointing. We later found out they offer a chili and garlic oil to drizzle on your pizza. We were never offered these and noticed when leaving, everyone else had them on their table but us. It's unfortunate because I think having those options would have really made the pizza pop. Based on the one pizza, I'd come back and try more. Based on the experience, absolutely not. read more

This review is based on my doordash experience, phone order request, and reply from whom I assume may be the owner or manager of the establishment on another yelp reviews regarding their pan crust. Placing the order: I had a problem with how doordash had set up this restaurant's menu option. I clicked on the 13" and saw the size change for the Pepperoni Lover (wanted the 17" as I had company over). It stated that for pan crust, additional $9. The app froze and I had to open it again. This time, I clicked on the 17" choice. As I was clicked my option and paid (tax, delivery fee, tip turned out to be $42 and some change) I didn't realize I clicked the pan crust. I was confused because I thought it would be more expensive, but I couldn't review my whole order from doordash. I called this restaurant and requested for the sauce to be changed. The person I spoke with was kind and told me this change would not be a problem. That is why I gave 2 stars because of my brief phone conversation and accommodation. Receiving the pizza: the doordash driver was nice. But, when she gave me the pizza, it looked small (like possibly the 13" size). When my husband looked at the box, he said that it looked too small for a 17". Pizza order: I was so upset that when I opened the box, it was a pan crust pizza, totally burnt and only 4 slices for $40. At that price, I called the restaurant and they confirmed I had clicked the pan crust. Totally fine, it was my error. But here is my biggest complaint. This restaurant praises on the quality of their pizzas, but I did not experience it. The pan crust hardly had any sauce, each slice (remind you, 4 slices) only had about 2-4 pieces of pepperoni (some were burnt), the cheese was thin, and the pizza was burnt. The edges were inedible. All for $40. Please look at the picture if you're a visual person. Overall experience: You will see that my husband left a very irritated review the day we received it. I don't blame him as we could've gotten pizza closer for that price. Why did we choose this place? To try something new as we like to support local businesses. Their other pizzas look amazing and you can tell that those pizzas might have their "quality ingredients." But sadly, I'm not too sure if I want to try this establishment again due to the lack of quality ingredients and care of the pizza I ordered. So far, I've read only 1 review of their pan crust and the yelper stated the same dissatisfaction. read more

I really appreciate and feel lucky that this place is here. This is what midtown sacramento needs. It's totally different pizza experience from what is available here. This place is my solution of having quality pizza without the hassle of being in a brewery or pub. A Also, you need to realize that this is not a round table pizza or mountain mikes pizza place. This is a specialty pizza place with really fine ingredients. Not the massed produced take and bake stuff. Yes, the price is more than dominos, but what you get is so much better. It's like eating steak from a steakhouse vs a dennys. You get what you pay for. But honestly after taxes and delivery from a mountain mikes or round table. You pay pretty much the same price. So I honestly feel that for what you are getting, the price is very affordable. Each pizza is hand made with imported quality ingredients. Each worker knows and takes the time to explain to you about the pizzas and would make some really good recommendation. Anonimo Pizza is exactly what Sacramento needed! We have lived all over the country and have lived in Sacramento twice 2014-2016 and 2021 to present. Have pretty much given up on Pizza in Sacramento. When we want good pizza, we get while in San Francisco. Brand new, we went before they officially opened after reading about it via Sac Bee. Checked yelp and only 4 reviews but 5 stars so we thought we would try it out. Location: we live in south sac so not super familiar with the area but clearly there is a 50/50 mix of homeless and gentrified expensive housing. No worries though, homeless here seamed harmless and didn't bother us at all. Parked a block away, behind the pizzeria for free parking. Walked over and homeless were fine, said hello to a few and everyone seamed kind. Interior: Modern style entrance with wide door, about 12-15 tables, a few tvs and super cool and interesting artwork on the walls. Chatted with the server and he informed us that some of the art is from the art gallery down the street which one of the owners owns. The NY style graffiti art is from NY and original, very swanky. A small bar which would seat 6 or so, and a partially open kitchen with a sexy, new Pizza Oven. PIZZA: honestly, we don't care anything about location, interior service or anything else besides the pie. This pie lived up to the $30 price tag. We got the Little Italy 17" pie. We were the only guests there on a Monday, President's Day. Juan greeted us right away, got us some drinks and he started sharing how this whole restaurant came to be. Lots of enthusiasm and love went into creating this place. The pizza came out 10 minutes later and was amazing. The hot coppa created the right amount of spice to contrast the homemade Italian pizza sauce, the crust was firm, dry, crusty, thin slightly charred and light. Just perfect!!! All ingredients tasted fresh. The 17" has 8 slices and we are not big eaters but it was so good we had 3 pieces each which was perfect. Juan gave us a small box for the last two pieces. I posted a menu but Juan said they are still adjusting their menu and might come out with a duck pizza, some special olive oils for dipping crust and liquor license coming within the week. We had high hopes for this place but unfortunately the pizza did not live up to expectations. We ordered 2 pies, both of which were COVERED in dried oregano. Oregano doesn't belong on a Margarita and it doesn't need to be the dominant flavor on any pie. After paying $70 for two pizzas and receiving them cold ...it was more than a little hard to swallow. The sauce was also incredibly spicy and we like heat, but this was just spicy without any flavor (other than the serious over sprinkling of oregano). Pizza is an art. The dough was good and could have the makings of a delicious pie. However, the heavy handed hoodlum with the oregano shaker threw that chance swiftly out the window (probably where our pizzas were held on the way here as they were ice cold). For just the pizza, a clear 5. After the first bite of of an "Old School Pizza", with no bells plus garlic, I knew it was my favorite Sacto. pizza. This pizza is fabulous. That said, I was overcharged. I first tried to order on-line. When you order a small OSP it is $18. You can order extra topping for $1.50 for half the pizza, or $2.00 for the whole, so when I order the OSP on-line plus a topping it was $20 plus tax, which would have come to about 21.75. I thought that if I called the restaurant that I could get the extra topping free, if I took 2 included toppings off. I called and the employee told me he would not charge me, which would make the pizza 19.58. I was charged 22.84, which meant I was charged $3 for my topping, which was $2 on-line, and was told I wouldn't be charged over the phone. The reason I didn't confront them on the spot is because I wasn't thinking how much it should have been at the time. After I got home I realized I was overcharged. I normally would be pretty upset and if the pizza was just good, I would probably never go there again.
