Great place, friendly people, and an EXTENSIVE tasting list! I highly recommend this place. It's $10 for the tasting, but if you buy bottles, your tasting fee goes toward that. Also, if you buy a case while you're there you immediately get 20% off your purchase! This place had the looooooongest tasting list out of any winery I've ever been to. You know how most places cap the tasting list off at about 6? Well, Lucca's gives you like 15 or something ridiculous like that! The wines are very good, and the service is even better. Mark was very attentive, and his stories were funny. He even brought us cheese and salami during the tasting! Awesome experience with my wife, and our great group of friends. We even saved a ton by buying our wines together and making a case deal out of it. They were cool with us doing it that way and then just splitting everything up after. I highly recommend Lucca Winery. We live in Tracy, and it's good to know we don't have to drive 2 hours anymore to get to a good winery! read more

Wonderful wines, and quite the selection to taste from. On my most recent visit, they had 15 reds open and several whites. Staff is extremely courteous and knowledgeable. We found this winery through Yelp and I'm glad we did. The size of the place was small but they are big in hospitality. We came in for a tasting and their vast tasting menu was impressive (22 wines total). We only got through half the list before we left but we enjoyed ourselves and the excellent service here at Lucca. The attendants were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. You get table side service whereas at other wineries you have to go up to the bar to get your next drink. I definitely recommend stopping here if you are in the area. This has easily become my favorite winery. I stopped drinking other wines after experiencing Lucca's Cab Franc. The staff is always friendly and personable. They know their wines and they enjou what they do. The environment is extremely laid back, but aesthetically pleasing. It is worth the visit. read more

They charge $10 for unlimited tasting and waive the fee if you purchase a bottle. They had some great deals going on so we ended up buying 6 bottles. Not what I expect! Is it good or bad ? No! Nothing at this property scream winery, there is no vines, there is no winery look & feel, it's in the middle of an orchard with a couple medal shops with wine barrels... went to the band playing Beatles songs it left a lot to be desired... it's really a band in someone's back yard that needs to be planned better ie dinner 6 pm band start 8:15 pm a couple hours sitting in a hot sun waiting with no water on the tables to boot is not good planning... with that said the retired crowd seem to be enjoying themselves and enjoyed the slow pace of things .... read more

This relatively new, family owned, small production winery is well worth a stop. A great variety of Rhone wines and a friendly winemaker. Tasting fee is $10 per person, waived with purchase, and we were able to try over 10 wines. Most wines sell under $20. A bit off the beaten path, but its a trip well spent. read more

Stop here because it was on our way to Lodi. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked it. It's small enough where you feel comfortable but the tasting menu screams big winery. I love that this place is family owned. The staff was amazing very knowledgeable and fun! Loved the wines. I'm normally a bold red drinker but loves the whites here as well. I walked out with 2 whites and 2 reds. I will definitely be back on our next CA trip. read more

The winery is very personable, granted we went wine tasting on a Monday (also Presidents' Day weekend). We really enjoyed Dave's history with the winery and loved tasting the 13 different wines. I will be bringing my mom here very soon because of how much I fell in love with this place. Mark who owns the winery is very sweet and with his help and Dave's, we joined the wine club! I got to the winery about 10 minutes before the rest of my party and the 2 guys working were so nice and even poured me a tasting early so that I could sip on something while I waited. I was passing through, lost on a road to nowhere as often happens to me, and I pass a sign that says " Wine Tasting." Who am I to object. I quickly turn around and go down the dirt and gravel drive flanked by overbearing peaches. What to my wondering eyes should appear, but a stack of oak casks in the hot mid-day sun. Giddy, I scampered up the drive to find a rotund man swirling wine in a large glass and vats of deep purple grapes to his left. "Are you the one that called?" he asked." No, was I supposed to?" I reply. "No, someone called to see if we were open and I thought it might be you, follow me" he invited- and through a labyrinth of wine we arrived at a large wooden door. My guide pushed the door open to reveal a small room with more casks of wine and two wooden spool tables fashioned with tasting sticks, and tasting list. I was welcomed by a family in the midst of their tasting and immediately ushered into what would become a long and thoroughly enjoyable wine tasting. My glass was filled with excellent wine after excellent wine in a warm mothering way- as if to say- no worries there's always more wine. It is a humbling experience when you share wine with the vintner, his wife, and his dog. The rustic nature of it all would hint to an unrefined barely palatable wine but what you'll find is a range of beautifully made, exceptionally priced wines. The Sangiovese. with a big punching dark tannin in the front of the mouth which opens up to a ripe plum/roasted apricot. Or my personal favorite, the Late Harvest Mourvedre which just felt exquisite in the mouth- chocolate covered raspberries with coffee- a dessert wine that wasn't a saccharine syrupy mess. It felt like wearing a beautiful party dress with cowboy boots underneath. Rustic charm with sophisticated complexity: ME in a wine ;) I brought the Petite Sirah home to Hawaii (I had to carry 2 pairs of shoes in my purse to bring it back) because my husband just loves that style. The Petite Sirah was as good then as I remembered. It brought me back to that secret room filled with casks of wine, the family dog at my feet. Oh Petite Sirah, dark as squid ink filled with strawberries, blackberries ,and raspberries and a lingering finish that keeps you from taking another sip because you're sitting at the edge of your seat savoring the taste as it ...slowly...unfolds...and ahhhhh. Now, get lost in the countryside and let the day take you to Lucca Winery. read more

My wife and I just moved to the area and decided to stop at Lucca on a balmy Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by winemaker, bottler, connoisseur of all things wines, Mark Lucchesi. Mark was a phenomenal host and we very much enjoyed his '12 and '13s that he shared with us. The true mark for me is when you can share a glass with the winemaker, themselves! I particularly enjoyed his take on the Mourvèdre, Petite Sirah and Syrah. Mark, I look forward to being a regular and enjoyed your hospitality. Love this place! There aren't many wineries in the area, but came across this one with a quick search. The good reviews from others were right. Pros: excellent service, superb wine, beautiful atmosphere Cons: when we first pulled in, it was a little confusing which way we were supposed to go. (Hint: keep going straight) Other than that, everything was fantastic. They let us taste about 10 different wines w/crackers & water available. Great set-up with beautiful decor.
