Turns out it wasn't -- my tech checked both passenger and driver switches, and it turns out the master switch on the driver side was the problem. I agreed to a charge of $110, which was roughly half part and half labor. Done within a hour. However, once I got in my car and pulled it out of their garage, I parked my car in their lot to double check the switch. The driver side began giving me problems -- it would roll down but not back up. Passenger still working fine. Eventually the driver side stopped working altogether. I pulled back up to the garage, and the same tech came to check it out. He did try to say it was the motor, but once I politely told him that it can't be the motor because it still worked when re-tested with the old switch, he said he would ask his manager. Turns out they did not have any other switches available, so they couldn't replace it with another that functioned properly. The tech offered to roll the passenger window up with their switch, and then reinstall my old switch and refund my money. This was the best possible outcome without having the proper part available, so I agreed. I am extremely happy that a refund was offered without any attitude or fighting. I can't say that a refund will be offered in your particular circumstance, but I can say that this is a perfect example of great customer service. The tech did not act annoyed with me at all, which most other places tend to do when you question their work. The guy who seemed like the manager and the woman at the desk were also very nice. All in all, I think it's awesome that this place has reasonable labor rates and is willing to install the used parts they sell. That, combined with the great service I received today, warrants a positive recommendation!

He said it would be about 30-45 minutes. I said okay, thank you so much and we hung up. An hour later they weren't there, so I called. He claimed that he assumed I didn't want the tow because I didn't give him the address to the gas station. Mind you, I told him the name and the corner of the gas station and he didn't ask for an address afterwards, but he gave me a time estimate. At this point, I was incredibly fed up. I just waited an hour in the cold for a tow that never came, and he acted like it was my fault. I told him I would go elsewhere instead and hung up. He called me back and half heartedly apologized, then said he could send someone over in ten minutes. I agreed. Mind you, it took longer than ten minutes, and I kind of feel that because of all this trouble I should have been given a discount. I drove behind the tow truck in someone else's car, and saw the driver run a red light with my car right in front of me. They also had to remove the OEM rims from my car and install the new winter set. I called the day of appointment and asked if I could come in a couple hours early which they accommodated. They also helped me put the OEM set in my truck. All the workers I had interactions with were courteous and welcoming. Had the same thing done there about 8 years ago and will return. The price is competitive with others but their service is top notch. Keep it up!

Kevin - or whatever his name is - was dismissive and brusque, which I hoped was the hallmark of a guy so good at what he does that courtesy had become an afterthought. Well, I was wrong. Although he quoted me "a week or two," it ended up taking the better part of a month. Every time I called, I got some runaround about how "we don't bother Kevin in the booth" like he was some kind of savant. Apparently he couldn't match the paint without the intervention of their "paint rep," which begs the question how they get anything painted at all. When I did finally get the call, I was irritated to find that he had also painted the piece of trim I'd supplied as a reference, which sort of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? On top of that, there are runs, sags, and s**t in the paint...like, did you spray this on the ground outside with one hand over your eyes? I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the results when I recall seeing a gallon jug of cheap vodka on the floor behind the counter when I picked up the parts. There's a bit from Calvin and Hobbes where he's supposed to be shoveling snow or something, and is deliberately making a hash of it. He explains to Hobbes that "I find if you do a job poorly enough the first time, you often don't get asked to do it again." So, I didn't ask again. I am sorry to have trusted that jerk with parts of a car that's very special to me, and I intend to find a friendlier, more competent shop to fix his lousy work.
