Been coming here for 10 years, with about six cars. I also know almost everything about repairing an internal combustion engine (ICE), so I am a highly qualified reviewer. Five stars for the service, minus one star for the cons listed below. If you are going here for something other than oil changes, that is unwise; you may as well throw your money in a barrel and light it on fire. PROS: Fast - about 10 minutes Cheap - about the same price I would pay if I bought my own oil No scheduling - just drive up They treat me decent. Cons: Up-sell - They always try to scare you into buying something else. They are obsessed with selling air filters. One of my cars had less than 1,000 miles on it and they said I needed new air filters! They also love to sell the "in cabin" air filter. Just politely say no thank you. (lack) of Full Service - I pay for the full service that includes vacuum car and clean windows. They vacuum about 50% of the time, and do a bad job. They clean the windows about 25% of the time, and only do windshield, and do a bad job. Why do I keep paying for this? Only a few bucks, and sometimes they get it right. If you want someone to kiss your @$$ and give you free coffee, pay twice as much for an oil change and go to a premium car dealer (BMW, Mercedes, Infiniti, Lexus, etc). Then schedule and take a few hours out of your day to do it. Then.....you will still get the up-sell that you need something like brake fluid flushed. read more

Had 4 wheels that needed tires mounted. They didn't fill one with air, damaged a wheel, and didn't balance any of them. When I approached Lee (owner) about the problem, he never offered any solution. Two tires blew out leaving me stranded twice on the side of the road in less than 2 weeks. Lee continued to fight me on getting a refund for just one tire for over a month. I had to buy 4 new tires just to fix the problems. With the damage to the wheels, two tow trucks, and all new tires, they easily did $1,000 worth of damage. Lee, I should sue you for these damages if I had the time in small claims court. Your business practices are shameful. I just wanted a simple refund and we could have gone our separate ways. read more

Been coming here for years with all of my cars For oil changes and sometimes inspections. They are good about telling you when things need to be changed or repaired. Today for example, I needed the cabin air filter as well as the engine air filter. They quoted me $50 bucks for both. He showed them to me and they were indeed filthy. I figured I'd just do it myself so I declined. Went to Advance Auto and bought the filters ($55 bucks) and had to put them in myself. Should have had them put them in! I have been coming here for probably close on 20 years now. Why? They are lightning fast and their prices are very good. However, as others have said, I will repeat: they try to upsell you every time. BIG on air cabin filter replacement. They must have got a special on those. The good news here is that I have never felt pressured, and have always politely declined. Maybe because I'm a guy and I know a few things about cars . . . when I was younger I did all my own oil changes, brakes, and over minor maintenance work. My wife, however, she went one time and she did feel pressured. The old "your transmission fluid is dark" tale. She felt like they were trying to scare her that if she did not do what they recommended, her vehicle would have big problems. She would not go back. I get it. They probably do not make a lot of money on oil changes. So they try to drum up other business. Went in for a simple oil change, They didn't do the whole oil change and then we're about to charge 100$ for the whole process. They refused to finish the whole oil change due to my oil cap being "damaged". I just purchased this vehicle and inspected it myself, there was no damage to my oil cap. They also gave me a laundry list of other items that have already been serviced on my vehicle. Will not be coming back here. read more

I take my cars to Lube It for oil changes and they are always fast and friendly and their prices are reasonable. That's the good part. What annoys me is that they always try to upsell some additional auto maintenance work. I get it, they want to work on some higher profit car repairs. But this time, I got a scary talk about how my brakes were so very worn that I was in terrible danger if I continued to drive without getting them fixed. I was quoted $1,100 to replace all four brake pads and rotors. My husband got on it as soon as I got home. Front brakes were worn but not dangerous. Back brakes still had some life in them. And all 4 rotors were fine. I am offended that they saw me as an easy mark to charge $1,000 of unnecessary car maintenance. read more

THEY STOLE OR SOLD MY CAR!!!!! It started with a simple state inspection.... If we could give them a negative zero, we would. DO NOT GO THERE AND LEAVE YOUR CAR!!! After years of taking our cars there and feeling comfortable with their work, on July 15, we took our car for the third time to be repaired of the same thing. It kept overheating and putting our family at risk by the car releasing fumes though the vents and overheating! Not only that, the last time we saw our car was that Thursday 15. They STOLE OR SOLD MY CAR and, when we went to look for it, it was nowhere to be found!!! They told us that we had picked it up which we had not and, that they couldn't find our car. They gave us all the excuses in the books. We asked to talk to the owner and were told so many things , from he stepped out, to he is out of the country. We talked to KAMAL, the manager as well as to some of the mechanics. Edwin and Jorge told us that they had left the key in the ignition and had parked the car in the back of the building. Who in their right mind does that!!!??? We had to get the police involved and made multiple reports. It has been time consuming, energy draining and now we do not have the car. Lube-It is a Jiffy Lube without the frills. It's like buying a car on the lot with no options. I only go there for the oil change and that's what I get - every 3 to 5,000 miles. Follow my advice - Don't go to ANY lubrication or tire shop for service - that's just asking for trouble. Even when additional items were found to repair I never felt pressure to have them completed. Some I did, some I didn't do. Recently had a check engine light and brought car in. I've been going there for years and only had them try to "up sell" once. I take both vehicles there for an oil and filter change. I've recently had them do state safety inspection and rotate tires. I have a routine where I drop the car off, go across the street for a coffee and muffin, come back and the car is ready. As usual, yesterday's service was quick, complete, and the staff was professional. For those who mentioned the 15 point check is just a way of drumming up business, of course it is. That's true of ALL car maintenance places. My solution: I never get our cars worked on at the place I get the inspection. When I take them to the dealer for a recall, I'm always offered the 15/50/100/etc point inspection for free. I let the tech checking me in know that they have a choice; they can be the shop that "finds" a "problem" or they can be the shop that fixes it but they cannot be both. read more

I don't generally comment on businesses but this one was so awful that I felt inclined to say something to warn future customers. I went there for an oil change because it is within a mile of my apartment, unfortunately I will never go back. I drove in and no one really said anything to me, they expected that I know the routine but I'd never been there eventually someone asked me to get out of my car and walk to the office. The lobby (if you can call it that) was dirty and uninviting but I can forgive that because its a auto repair shop. Here is where my major complaint lies, after about ten minutes the mechanic calls me into the shop and says "This car needs the transmission fluid, breaks fluid, and power steering fluid flushed and refilled." And proceeded to rifle off some out outrageous prices for each. The kicker is that I had all that done less than a year ago at the dealer (which anyone with the slightest knowledge of cars will tell you is outrageous). They were clearly just trying to tack on some effortless high cost labor, unfortunately for them I wasn't born yesterday. If you are going to recommend work be done to my car at least take the effort to make it believable rather than opening a couple caps and saying the fluid needs replacing. When I instructed them that I would just like the oil changed they were extremely rude about it. As many other reviewers noted you should not take your car here for anything other than a quick oil change. I would go as far as to say it is a bad idea to even do that, they are dishonest, rude, and overpriced. Bottom line: If you want to over pay for a basic oil change, be treated poorly, and leave the shop feeling uneasy about whether your car is now safe to drive, this is your place. read more

You deserve better treatment. Stay away. Even if this place gave top notch mechanical service, I would advise you to stay far away simply based on the mean, abrasive, and unwelcoming customer "service" provided by the woman who runs the cash register. Not only is she rude to each and every customer, but she has a sign on the wall that blames you (the customer) for her bad attitude. Stay far away from her, and this establishment. Now, they don't do bad work, and some of the mechanics (especially Henry) are very nice, but too many of them are very pushy on car maintenance that you do not need. I made a huge mistake once, when I followed their advice to buy a part for my car through them. After giving them $150, they called me a week later to say they could not actually buy the part. But - instead of giving me a refund - they gave me 5 "free.pre-paid" oil changes. That came out to more than $150 total for me in the long run, so I did not complain. But that meant I had to return 5 more times and tangle with the woman at the front desk who repeatedly tried to prevent me from cashing in my "free/pre-paid" oil changes. On my last "free/pre-paid" change, she actually typed on my receipt 'Last Free Oil Change. Done. No more." And on my last visit there, they encouraged me to pay for more than $300 in other fluid changes. I politely declined. I will never go back. I have gone to this place for years and with several vehicles. It's quick, convenient, and they have a record of all the services I've had performed. To date I have not had any issues with my vehicles or the services rendered, however.... I have a strong feeling that ownership and/or management here has changed in the past year or so. I am asian and originally from a third world country and I can say that bringing it to this place feels the same. Their credibility is down the drain for me, they have no sense of customer service nor do they care. The customers at this place are a burden and if you don't have the work they recommend peformed, then you may as well be a moron or an imbicil. The person at the desk just can't be bothered, she's too busy doing other things. Whenever someone else has to fill in, they're even worse. Two horrible experiences in a row and that's it for this long time customer. I'm normally very loyal to the places I go and more tolerant than most, so me leaving this place should speak volumes. I've been coming to this Lube It location for some time, and had considered trying to find somewhere new because I felt like every time I came for an oil change, they found 5 other things to fix. But I'm so glad I gave this place one more shot! They are under new management, and thank goodness for that. Kamal, their customer service rep, really goes above and beyond. He showed me his concerns with my brakes - both on my car and after he had removed the pad - and comped my brake fluid flush entirely. He also replaced the battery in my spare key free of charge (under old management, I paid $30 for that). He even offered me a ride home so I could wait out the repairs in my living room while I waited for my husband to get off work. They have made a loyal customer out of me! read more

First the lady at the counter asked for my car information etc after that i asked her the cost of oil change, she said 39 then once i agreed someone came to me and said that this car needs a special oil which further has 2 qualities etc etc one is 49 the other 69... I kept asking whats the difference between the 2, he just rambled on making no sense. They really think everyone is stupid. After 35 min they changed me 59 plus tax! Like what??? Like Ron H. mentioned already...no frills oil change. In fact don't even expect a smile or a hello. They could certainly do better in that department, but a sign in their little office area says it all. I don't remember what it said verbatim, but it said something to the effect that you are the reason why I'm having a bad day! Lol. Anyway, when I first arrived, it didn't look really busy and they waved me into the service bay. As I get out, I show then my SuperSaver card for the oil change. They direct me to the office/waiting area where customers are supposed to wait. The guy behind the counter hardly acknowledged my presence, but I show him my Super Saver card and he seems to know what I'm expecting. I see others waiting outside so I too want to make sure my car is being serviced correctly. Yup, I've seen too many 20/20 type investigative TV shows of shops pretending to change the oil and filter. This one guy seems to take particular interest in my car wiping away the layer of sappy residue (from parking under a tree) and pollen from my windows. I want expecting that at all. It was really dirty. Then the guy calls me over and shows me that I have a head gasket leak which makes sense because I noticed some oil drops over in the crazy spring snow storm several weeks back. Then tells me I should get my brake fluids replaced as well as something else. Honestly I wasn't listening too hard as I'm not looking to waste too much more money on this car. They also refilled my windshield wiper fluid too which I wasn't expecting. So overall not a bad visit. Definitely makes me look forward to my next visit in 3k miles. Places with a cheap oil change ($19.95 or less) and good reviews are hard to find in NoVA, so I took a chance despite Lube-It's average review being a whopping 1.5 stars. The sign says $7 off and given the bad reviews, before I got out of my car, I asked the gentleman who walked up immediately how much a basic oil change would cost. I was happy to hear $19.95. I asked if that was before or after the $7 off (a girl can dream) and he told me the $7 was on their full service oil change, which runs $34.95. He didn't scoff or try to up-sell me when I let him know I'd take the minimal, and he took the car right back and asked me to wait inside. In the waiting are, there's a TV playing sitcom reruns and about 8 chairs inside with a decent smelling waiting room for a mechanic shop, as well. Also one of the chairs has a bonus plug in the wall next to it for charging your phone. The place advertises a 10 minute oil change, but it probably took closer to 20 even with no wait. After 5 minutes or so inside, a guy came in and asked me to fill out my info on a piece of paper, then after a while longer I looked up and noticed my hood was shut, so I asked him if that meant my car was done, and he told me no... then walked outside and I saw the other guy who was just standing there shake his head. Usually a pretty good indication that the work is done when the hood is shut. I paid $20.something with tax and was on my way with a sticker in the corner of my windshield letting me know when my next oil change should be. I'll definitely go back. I should mention this was for a conventional oil change. When it was time for our other car, that requires a synthetic blend, to get done, the price was much higher, but it was $69.95 compared to $90 at Jiffy Lube for Mobile 1 dexos 5w30 semi-synthetic. We had a lot of sticker shock at first and they were very hesitant and annoyed when asked to explain it further, making the process a lot more stressful than it needed to be. But, it all checked out, so we'll still use them again. read more

Save yourself the trip and go some where else!!! This place lacks customer service, they are unprofessional, they over price, and will rob you if you dont know anything about cars. My brother went in yesterday 08/16/19 and got his front brake pads and rotors changed. And we ended up coming back this morning because the front right pad was making a squeaking noise. Went in and asked the lady at the counter if i can speak to a manager. Shorty after that, Santos who claimed to be the manager spoked to us and asked us what the problem was, so i told him the right brake pad is making a squeaking noise. He then said " well i need to take the car out for a drive to pin point the problem, because your brother came in yesterday and asked for the front brake pads and rotors to be changed" lol I told him that the car never made any noises before i dont understand why its making noises after you guys worked on it!! He then took the car out for a drive and came back and said " i know what the problem is, if u give me 20mins i can fix it for you" SMH! So i asked him, if they take the car out for a drive after working on it to see if the problem was fix or not? He said yes we do!! Well.......Apperently it wasnt fixed, thats why we came back!! I'm just disappointed after all this time talking, he never apologized about the lazy job that they did. They fixed the problem and then apologized. You would think after paying all that money they would care enough to see if the job was done correctly and to see if it was good to go!!! That just shows how professional this places. If I were you, I'd take my car to the dealership because they value customer service and they have certified mechanics. I was so upset I wanted to tell Santos to manager how poor the customer service was, and he replied with "what do you want me to do" lmao "do your freaking job right" Mechanic!! This place is shady!! This is for the Lube-it in Falls Church, VA Worst oil change and service I ever encountered. They did not do anything of the so called 15 point inspection. No vacuuming, no window wash, no tire inspection or air. the guy spilled quite a bit of oil into my engine area while re-filling the oil, then sprayed something and watched it for a min. ( I had asked about a tire rotation, but the guy told me that the lift couldn't handle it) .After leaving, I parked across the drive at the church and wiped out the pool of oil that was floating on the engine brackets, while they watched. The office girl could not pull her earbuds off to do the transaction, but still talking to her girlfriend about how sexy the guy in the picture she had taped to the cabinet behind her was. Angry and indifferent looks from the other employees , a very bad ordeal all around. Save yourself some peace of mind and avoid this business like the plague! BBB approved, BS! read more

Super Lube-It is definitely the best auto-repair shop that I've ever been to in the DC-Metro area! The entire staff is amazing and takes excellent care of you - from the front desk to the garage shop. They made an incredible first impression on me. So, I had to come back for another round of top-notch service from Santos and his team. They had my car looking and running like new again, and my wait in the lobby was very comfortable and shorter than any other place that I've patronized in the past for similar issues. Service was fast, as advertised, but the Falls Church location is dishonest to the MAX! I had never been there before so I went in inquiring about the price since they don't have their prices posted on any kind of board or menu. The woman told me that the full service is $29.95 and includes regular oil and that partially synthetic is $44.95. I told her to go with the regular full service plus an air filter for $18.95, which they told me I needed. Upon checkout, I learned that the total was just over $56. I inquired as to what the additional charges were - asking if it was tax, labor, or a disposal fee and the woman said it was $29.95 plus an additional $18.95 (however, that adds up to a total of $48.90). I inquired again as to what the additional $7 and change was for, but she only grinned and said "I just told you" - as she ran my card for $56. As she handed me the receipt printout, she handed me a mailer which entitles the customer to $10 off of a full-service on the next visit. Only then, I learned that the full service is usually $34.95 including labor, as opposed to the charge details on my receipt which read that the oil change was $21.30 and the labor was $13.65. This means my total without the filter was $34.95 plus tax (not coinciding with the quote she gave me upon inquiring when I walked in and again upon checkout). I went back in and proceeded to debate the price I was charged with the price she told me. She finally conceded to refund me $5. However upon pulling out of the parking lot a different way than that which I came in, I then noticed a sign that stated "today's special -$7 off a full service oil change." The mailer states that the REGULAR PRICE is $34.95, so she actually should have told me that today's price is $27.95 ($34.95-$7.00). I didn't go in again to ask for my additional $2, but rest assured I will never go back to this place! They are not transparent in their pricing and lie to gouge the customer out of a couple dollars. read more

Do not even get an oil change here. I went because of an advertised discount and asked for the "full service oil change" that was advertised. When I paid, I asked about the discount and was informed that I didn't get the full service oil change, so I didn't get the discount. I had asked to have a bulb in my back blinker replaced. I already had the bulb, so I didn't have to pay for that, but I was charged for the labor. Upon leaving, I realized they hadn't actually replaced the bulb, just charged me. I pulled right back in and had it put in while I remained in my car. They had mentioned that I needed new tires and a whole bunch of other things, but I wasn't going to pay $140 per tire, which didn't make them happy. I drove about half a mile down the road to get a fair tire quote and upon arriving, my car was leaking oil. There turned out to be a crack in the oil pan. I went back to Lube-It and showed them and of course they denied it and said I bottomed out and caused it myself. I had driven .5 mile and definitely did not bottom out. They were disrespectful and all-around idiots. So basically a shitty oil change will cost us $400 in repairs. Never, ever go here. Also, 10 minutes is bull. I was there for an hour. read more
