My 2014 Honda Odyssey was due for a timing belt/water pump and after checking all the forums and…read morewatching all the YouTube videos I knew I wanted to order my own parts that had been recommended by all those sources. I also ordered a serpentine belt, an oil filter, and a jug of Mobile One. Paul's Auto Service had been recommended to me by a couple different people and I called to see if they would have a problem with me bringing my own parts and fluids, because some shops definitely don't like if you bring your own parts due to the mark up the shops charge for parts, so if you bring your own they don't get that money. Julie at Paul's said it wouldn't be a problem at all if I brought my own parts, so I got a quote and made an appointment. I dropped off the van and the keys a few days later right before they closed so they would have it to work on right away the next morning. They open at 8 AM and five hours later the van was done. When I went to pick her up they gave me all the old parts and Rob pointed out some wear and corrosion on the water pump and the tensioner that made me glad that I had taken care of this sooner rather than later. The price I was charged was a couple hundred dollars less than another shop in town that I had considered, and it was $1000 less than the Honda dealership in town quoted me. For me, getting automobile service work done is like going to the dentist. I dread it, but Greg the owner, (I don't know who Paul is or was, maybe Greg's dad) his wife Julie, and Rob the other mechanic were so nice and friendly and understanding and and it just couldn't have been a better experience. A very reasonable labor charge, a fast and reliable turnaround as promised, honesty, integrity, and such friendly service. I was a first-time customer, but they made me feel like I had been bringing my vehicles there for years. I am so happy to know where I WILL be bringing my vehicle for any and all service needs in the future.

Great service! Reliable and fair price. We have been going here for years and are always pleased…read morewith service.

I had a timing chain go out on my Ford 150. Brought it into their Sartell location and they fixed…read moreit. Took them 3 days to do because they had to keep ordering parts. Once it was finally complete, it broke before I even got home. They had to fix it again. After that, I immediately had an oil leak and had to have that fixed. Next visit, they said I had another oil leak but I had already paid over $5000 to them for the other repairs and could not afford it at that time. I then started to have a large pool of oil on my garage floor so I had to borrow money to get the second oil leak fixed. When I bought it in, they said they couldn't find a leak and argued with me because I was somehow stupid for thinking a large pool of oil on my garage floor would be from a leak and they had already told me on a previous visit there in fact was a leak. Brought it back a week later and then they said there in fact was a leak. More money for those visits. I spent over $3000 to have oil leaks fixed which I am pretty sure were related to their terrible work on the timing chain. I no longer go there after years of service. Better off going to a dealer since they charge the same amount. When I spoke to the manager, he did not care. Just writes to me "Have a good day."

GO somewhere else…read more Vehicle would not start, had it towed to Granite city tire and auto, Sartell Minnesota. I was told it was a fuel pump... Was quoted over $800 for repairs??? Called FRIEDRICH's AUTO, Rice MN and was quoted nearly $200 CHEAPER... when I asked Granite City Tire and Auto if they could reduce the price a little just to make it comparable... They said, "NO".... it's amazing that Granite City tire and auto is NOT willing to take even $50 off a bill in order To be competitive in the area... Can tell you that they have lost a customer for LIFE! And I will NEVER refer anyone to this establishment again. Lesson learned, shop around, and be careful of reviews placed by their own employees to make them seem better than they actually are. Overpriced! You've been warned!!!

Jim quoted me $5200.00. I said "Now you're sure about that?" He said "Oh yes. Thats very accurate"…read more I go to pick it up and he says that'll be $5876.22. What a sheister. Had I known he was such a liar I would have gone elsewhere. Jim gives car mechanics a bad name. I wonder how often he pulls his little con job. Next time I'll go elsewhere. There's plenty of mechanics besides Sheister Jim.

Dont waste your time or money here!!! If I could give roman and his shop negative stars I would…read more It took over a month ( 3rd of July until 12th August) to "fix" my truck. Roman never answers the phone, returns calls, or keeps the customer informed of what the status is of their vehicle. I finally picked up my truck, after a month, and he was still "diagnosing" a computer issue (one it didnt have when I brought it in)....they removed a ground wire between the transmission and frame...which magically made it shift right when I replaced it. Well, the 3 month warranty expired in November, here it is December 1st and the thing is destroyed, case shattered on it due to the wrong, overtightened fastners and brackets that hold it all square not being hooked up. To top it all off, when I removed the inspection cover what do I find? Low and behold, the WRONG torque converter, the truck is a diesel, and has a 6 bolt torque converter, the one that was used was a 3 bolt designed for a gas engine. Im sure there is more internally that was not assembled correctly, but Im too disgusted to even look any further right now. The best part is, when it came apart going 70mph, 500 miles from home, it destroyed the transfercase and driveshaft (which came apart and wrapped around the fuel lines, brake lines, parking brake cables, etc...) and cost another $900 for a wrecker ride home. I have tried to get in touch with Roman to see how he is going to handle this situation because I dont feel it is right for me to have to pay another $2500.00 for a transmission...go figure, he wont answer or return calls... Do what you can to avoid this place, OEM transmissioms are similar in price and have an actual warranty...

Four days before my friend's appointment we came in for a starter estimate. Joe at the front desk…read moretold us there would not be a charge for an inspection. The printed estimate listed a few items like brake pads but no inspection fee. When my friend's car was towed in she asked them to check the starter, brake pads, and a couple smaller items. Later she got a call saying it was not the starter but the battery. She agreed to replace the battery parts and labor only. She was never asked to approve any inspection fees. When we came to pick up the car there were two inspection charges added, one for $9.99 and one for about $40. My friend reminded Joe he had said there would be no charge. I confirmed I had heard him say this. Instead of simply addressing it, Joe said things like "you guys are looking for free stuff," cut my friend off several times by putting his hand in the air, and even took a phone call while speaking with us. He removed the charges only after we pressed him. When we came back later because my friend had dropped her chapstick, Joe looked at us and said to another employee, "They're probably here to say something's wrong," while staring. We had not even spoken yet. We are two Black women in St. Cloud and the way we were treated was mean, dismissive, and unprofessional. This is not about wanting something for free. It is about being charged only for what was agreed to and being treated with basic respect. I hope management addresses this so no one else has to experience it.
