I am not sure if IZ medical is listed as an urgent care facility, but if I am ever sick and need a doctor on a dime, I will absolutely give this office a call. Let me tell you about how I ended up at IZ Medical. On Monday, I went to a different facility (one that I had been going to for a few years), complaining of signs of an ear infection. I was told there was nothing wrong with me, and was sent home with a COVID PCR test. Well, I woke up in the middle of the night with a 102 fever...of course, these days, a sudden fever makes you think it's COVID. I spent all of Tuesday morning looking for area doctors and offices that would give a rapid COVID test AND would take my insurance...many places in the Hudson County area (where I am from) were either booked for a week out (what's the point of a rapid COVID test then?) or they were charging anywhere from $100 to $150 dollars. A friend of mine suggested IZ Medical, as their family members had signs of COVID and they also took the rapid test here. When I called up and explained my situation, the lovely woman on the phone said, "How fast can you get here?" They had booked me within an hour, and I was able to get a rapid COVID test. But that's not all. When the test came back negative, and I explained to Dr. Baker that I was experiencing sudden fever symptoms, he immediately tested me for the flu and examined me, asking me questions and listening to my story about my onset of symptoms. I liked that Dr. Baker didn't stop at "the test is negative." Dr. Baker also had a PA-in-training with him, and he was explaining the what-where-why regarding my symptoms and issues. Dr. Baker discovered that I had a ball of wax in my ear that had sealed my ear canal shut, plus my whole sinus area was irritated / inflamed. He gave me some medicine to treat it, and told me to return if the ball of wax did not fall out with treatment. All in all, I can't thank Dr. Baker enough for seeing me on such short notice. In addition, the rest of the staff here is extremely attentive and the office is absolutely gorgeous. I will keep this place in mind, if I ever need to see a doctor for things like colds or illnesses.

The front desk receptionist lacks professional. When I informed her about Mary would like to see me ASAP (she left a voicemail on my phone at 7:30am informing that blood results is not up to par and she would like to see me ASAP for intervention--- the receptionist told me there's no appointment in 1 month and hung out. I received another called form Mary the following day (which I was able to picked up) and got in right away. Another time, the phlebotomist dropped my brother's blood tube (after we had left). She called my mom in a demeaning manner demanding we should come back at this very instance. My mom was highly upset. For once my brother has anxiety and secondly the woman was rude. Once we returned back to the establishment. The lady told my brother to suck it up and stop being a wuzz. Very unprofessional for a 11 year old at the time. My mom quickly bring this to the attention of Mary at the next appointment.

Past weekend my family were away about 2 hours away from doctor's office so couldn't stop by so I left a message at Saturday 4:49pm because my son who is 8 months old was not feeling well. I wanted to ask him what to feed or not to feed my son. I did not hear back from him so I called back on Monday at 3pm and asked the receptionist why didn't you return my call and her reply was "yes we received your message and I was suppose to call you but we were very busy. You should have called back this morning". After hearing that respond I was so upset. They should have called back on Saturday. I did have this same experience with my older daughter but at that time we decided to give him another chance but after hearing that response I'm moving my kids to another pediatrician today. Second, dr parks office is notorious for not meeting their appointment time. If you make a 12:00pm appointment you will done at 2pm. Making us wait at least over an hour every visit. People who need a responsive doctor when they're needed, Dr park and his staff are not that people.

The appointments are well organized, and my doctor or nurse practitioner always gets back to me promptly when I leave a message. There are several different doctors that work out of this office, but my oncologist is wonderful. I highly recommend this office. At times the wait can be long, but that is because they are dealing with other patients that may have a serious issue at the immediate moment. Always was caring and stayed with me until the Dr. came in and supported me. When I was finally Cancer free, we hugged and cried together. And as a volunteer we are still in contact daily. I LOVE everyone at HOPE. I have been going to HOPE for over 2 years. I met DR. They also lied first time I went saying that they found my health insurance only to receive a full bill saying processed without even though they reassured me they found me in the system. They also push their providers for different services on you no matter how much you say you don't want/need to see said specialist. They'll call you endlessly. They just want your copay. Save your money just use a public healthcare provider. They started to answer via chat while I was still on hold. Telephones never picked up. When asked they said "staff was busy" when I asked why chat was being answered they replied because they have designated people to answer chat. Make that make sense.

She had the highest reviews, takes my insurance, and seems to provide excellent bedside manner (which is almost close to impossible to find these days). Guess Medical School has some work to do in that dept., MEDICAL SCHOOL DEANS and/or Admission Directors reading this review remember -- Rapport is also apart of the job. Anyhoo, I called and made an appointment with Dr. Weiss, whom is extremely over booked, I had to wait nearly two months to meet with her. And then when I did, I had to cancel and reschedule. But it worked out and I was able to get in to see her. She has a small little office inside a one-level office bldg, across from the tracks in Englewood. The waiting room furniture was out-dated and unpleasant to the eye and very dimly lit, border line dark. Inside the examination rooms, which was small, and had this old clunky white wicker chair, was very ugly and odd that you would find it in a exam room -- it belongs on her patio or deck. Anyhow, I digress... She is very nice, down-to-earth, sorta has this disshoveled look; late 40s, full figured jewish woman, with thick full messy hair with her glasses on top her head, and wears her medical scrubs (not un-normal). She has a dry sense of humor, works well with mine lol. As for thoroughness - she asks all the questions and maybe even twice, to jog your memory if you are having a "senior moment". But what I didn't like was, I sent 20 pages worth of medical information. All her questions could have been answered if she reviewed them before our meeting. It would be nice, for once, if a doctor was up to speed on their patient walking in the door. Quality vs Quantity; Quality always wins in my book. But Money always prevails. She gets a 3 - 3.5 out of 5 stars. Ms. Janet Ross in NOLA still has my loyalty. Ms. Ross always called me personally, and if she was in surgery or delivery, her assistants did. I'm just one of those ppl who likes to hear the results from the doctor, just incase I have questions. Nobody likes to wait for a callback.

Also they reserve morning appointments for newborns and infants so they don't have to be in the office with the older sick children. Dr. Mendes is seriously the absolute BEST! We do go here and do feel they provide honest care for children, I just wish the doctors, nurses and front staff had more joy and fun when the kids are around. They're all very very serious and come off stern. They will give a lollipop or a sticker which my kids do like, but in the treatment room the bedside manner is so cold unfortunately. No loving and welcoming side for the kids. For example, this morning we saw Dr. Grace. She came in, stone cold, very serious and didn't have any loving side or compassion with my three year old. I do believe she has a good concept as a doctor, I'm not doubting that, I just wish she was friendlier with the little ones. :( 5 stars for appointment availability and location to my house (super close), but 3 for their cold demeanor which I wish was more loving/welcoming for a pedi office.
