Wylie Wagg is a great pet shop, and the first I have been into (but had heard good things about). It was the first time we had been to Middleburg, and the Beloved Goldendoodle led me right in there as we walked down the main street. A nice selection of good-quality food, treats and toys, and they also carry my favorite leashes from UpCountry. I would have bought one, but they only had the narrow widths, and I like the regular 1" width for the boy. However, I will definitely stop into their other locations should I pass them, and if I find myself in Middleburg ever again, I'm sure there will be a return visit. The ladies working were very nice, and I commented to my friend that if I were ever to work in a shop, I would want it to be a pet store since the customers tend to be the friendliest on earth! read more

I love Wylie Wagg and this location is no exception! As I have found typical to most pet boutiques, It's easy to cater mostly to dogs and dog lovers with all the specialty foods, toys, treats, grooming products, and other random dog centered items you could think of. However, WW also has a small cat room in the back that holds a well selected (albeit somewhat limited) variety of merchandise for feline lovers. I have purchased a little bit of everything here (when I am in the area) and have nothing but good things to say about them. I have even noticed that their products seem to outlast some of their competitors cheaper quality items. Lastly, the staff really could not be more lovely! I didn't realize that this shop had multiple locations, but I'm glad I know now! As far as I'm concerned, they've just earned themselves a loyal new repeat customer. The prices were very competitive. In fact, I had been at PetCo earlier in the day and purchased two items which I have since returned because I found the same items for 15%-20% less at this store. I definitely didn't expect that to be the case. Regarding this shop in particular, the employees (and customers) were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful too. On the Wylie Wagg for Pets' website, it says they focus on kindness as one of their priorities and I have to say, they nailed it today. Wylie Wagg is an adorable little pet boutique with an adorable little name in the adorable little town of Middleburg. As is usual with pet boutiques and me, I ended up in here with dog-doting friends. It's not that I have anything against dogs, I just don't have one; and since these types of stores tend to cater to dogs and dogs alone, I'm not typically tempted into them. Not so with Wylie Wagg, tho. While the inventory *does* lean heavily towards canines, there is a good-sized "Kitty Corner" with everything from organic catnip to feathered teasers. And there are food bowls, fleece-lined beds, costumes and outfits, toys, and treats for Spot and Snowball alike. What most impressed me about WW's inventory, however, was the selection of food. Husband and I recently switched kitty from commercial cat food to a grainless, high-protein diet. It's been a challenge to find this type of food in national chain pet stores, so we've been relying largely on the Internet and boutique shops. And WW carries a huge variety of both wet and dry for both dogs and cats: EVO, BG, Nature's Variety, Honest Kitchen, and Taste of the Wild among others. On average, WW's price-points are higher than Petco or other big pet stores, but this is a high-end shop in a town known as the nation's "hunt and horse capital." It's all relative. On the afternoon of our visit it was a Wylie Wagg Adoption Day. WW works closely with animal rescue foundations, donating portions of proceeds from certain sales to their casues, partnering with them on adoption efforts, and providing a bin in the store where customers can purchase and drop-off food for shelter animals. This is the best pet store that I have ever been in, and definitely outdoes Petsmart and other mainstream stores due to its pet-friendly, boutique atmosphere, although it doesn't cater to the same variety of pets as those stores. The staff here have always given me a warm welcome when I have walked in, and are always willing to help me find what I need. The products here are definitely different from anything that you would find at your standard pet store. They have the cutest collars, for cats and dogs, and always have great dog beds and personalized pet stuff, like stationary. I always bring my dog in and they welcome him just as nicely as they welcome me, and there are dog biscuits that you can take for free which is also nice! The baked, gourmet treats are always so cute, from doughnuts to cupcakes, and my dog loves them! I come here for all my dog's food, because the selection is so much better than your basic grocery store. I love Wylie Wagg! read more

Charming store for the owners of over-indulged pets. Wylie Wagg has a great selection of expensive dog and cat... um, everything. The dog beds are great, the toys are silly, the food is of very high quality, and there are a large number of knickknacks and cards to help you show your love of your favorite breed of dog. The staff is friendly, but not overly so. They run some rescue events, for which they deserve a lot of credit. My dogs have at least two beds each (they are spoiled), but their favorite one comes from Wylie Wagg - their awesome cozy cave. read more

Been a customer of Wylie Wagg ever since it opened back in 2003 and I will stay a loyal customer for as long as I live in the area. Friendly staff & an awesome selection of HEALTHY food your dog and/or cat. A tad bit pricey for the best food they offer but when it comes to our pets, we should not skimp on anything. I've been feeding my dog 'FROMM: Tunalini' and we both couldn't be happier! They even started selling food, treats, toys for smaller animals such as birds & rabbits etc. Every other weekend or so they also host dog adoption days with local humane foundations and shelters from around the area. Wylie Wagg is, without a doubt, the BEST doggie store in the US. We moved to Middleburg three years ago, and promptly adopted a puppy from the local animal shelter. Her first outing with us was to WW. We soon came in often, and got to know the employees. Soon we learned that one member of the staff babysat dogs in her spare time, and so Millie (our dog) had a new person to keep her company while we were away. This was a in-home situation, so the sitter would sleep at our home and make sure Millie had everything she needed, and then sometimes take her into work during the day. The next thing you know, we are inviting everyone from WW to house parties and special occasions. Now, we call some of them trusted friends. They are experts in what your dog wants/needs and are super friendly. And you'll have tons of organic, high-quialty toys/clothes/gourmet treat/food to choose from. Millie was sadly struck by a speeding car not long ago, and the Wylie Wagg staff was the first to hear and react. Living in such a small town, everyone, including pooches, are part of one big family. Our friends at WW soon came to our doorstep with a memorial book, and when we saw them later that week, one employee told us ( in tears) how she hadn't been getting any sleep thinking about Millie. Also, they have a framed picture of her on the desk. Every time we came in with Millie, she was greeted with a smile, pat and a treat. Her first tiny collar was from WW, as was the last piece of kibble she ever ate. There is no doubt in my mind that she considered everyone at WW her other owners, and loved them each dearly. We will get another puppy someday, and the first place we will take it is the place their big sister loved with all her heart. read more

Pretty typical boutique dog store. I came here while I was browsing shops in downtown Middleburg, and the staff was pretty friendly and helpful. Selection is typical for a pet boutique, although other than the dog cupcakes, you can find most of the stock in a big box pet store like Petco or Petsmart. read more

This place takes customer service to a whole new amazing level. I needed more dog food but couldn't remember the type I bought as it was a 30 lb bag for my small chihuahua and it is stored in a container and the bag was thrown away. They were able to pull my account record from 2014 to tell me the exact dog food I previously purchased. I asked if there are any closer locations to the Leesburg area and Tom, the manager, said he lived in Leesburg and would be willing to meet me in Leesburg to deliver it to me free of charge today AND in the future. Now that is going above and beyond for the customer! This was already my favorite pet supply store, as they carry only the best food and supplies, and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. The service is mediocre. I have been interrogated about my dog, who is not a rescue, every time I go in with it. We have fostered dogs for years, and have many foster failures still. I went in with a pure bred dog and the employees were very negative towards us (after I spent over $100). I have been a customer there for years, and I go in regularly. I am incredibly disappointed. I love shopping at Wylie Wagg and so does my dog!! They have a great selection of dog food, treats and toys. There is also a great selection of products for your dog or cat. Having a spaniel who's ears always need cleaning, they have a great natural product that I have used for years. I also live on a budget and the prices are comparable to petsmart and petco. Sometimes, the prices on the toys are lower. And most of all, my dog loves to come to Wylie Wagg. read more
