I had a massive heart attack in 2004 at the age of 42. I was airlifted to BIDMC and luckily for me Dr Garcia was the cardiologist on call that day. He stented my artery and saved my life. In 2008 I had a by-pass still having Dr.Garcia as my cardiologist. Since 2008 I had no symptoms and felt great until about a month ago. I was working out and felt some jaw pain as I did many years ago just before my heart attack. Since I live in Charlestown and I am surrounded by Mass general I went to their walk in clinic to get it checked out. They immediately did an EKG and saw something that was cause for alarm. I was admitted that day and they continued testing. They did an echo cardiogram as well as monitoring me and finally 3 days later I went to the catherization lab. They did a catherization and did not place any stents. However, I did not get to see a doctor until the next day. He spent a total of 4 minutes with me and said I had an unusual case and he needed to get with his team to see what the best option was.I was also told I had 3 blockages in my arteries and he wasn't sure if they could be stented or not. He told me I had 3 options.1.) treat with meds for 3 months to see what happens 2.) look at the p[possibility of stenting but would be very difficult and not sure if it could be done. 3.) opt for by-pass surgery. I was released but really had no plan but an appointment set up for 30 days later. I then emailed Dr. Garcia at St Elizabeth's Medical Center. He responded right away and asked me to get the images from Mass General as well as the images from BIDMC from 2008 and 2004. I got all the images on a Thursday and then called Dr. Garcia on his cell phone Thursday afternoon. He told me to come in the next morning with the images. I arrived and waited approx. 15 minutes and Dr. Garcia came out. He then went to look at the images. He returned about 30 minutes later and knew exactly what I needed. he set up a stress test the next week and said he would follow up right away. Again, he did exactly what he said he would do. I spoke with him on the phone and he said he could stent the 2 blockages right away and then set up a time in the cath lab to take care of the 3rd blockage. Fast forward to today and I am home after having 2 of the 3 arteries fixed. I will get the 3rd one done next month. I cant say enough about him or his team. His NP Nancy Nicholson was also amazing. She was there from the beginning and was so supportive and helpful as well as everyone I came into contact with. Dr. Garcia is amazing and he is all business and right to the point. I can tell he lives and breathes cardiology and he had no hesitation knowing exactly what he needed to do. For anyone who has heart or artery disease, I would not recommend anyone but Dr. Lawrence Garcia. He is my life saver and cant express enough how comforting, secure and lucky I feel having him as my cardiologist.

My original appt with my PCP was not properly scheduled so I took the first available with Dr…read more Wagner. She was initially friendly. However, she spent most of the session concerned with my BMI (mostly ignoring my poor mental health, the pandemic, and despite acknowledging my active lifestyle including lifting). She relies on outdated science, telling me to not eat eggs because of the cholesterol, even though that has been debunked for several years now. After body shaming me, she THEN asked if I had a history of eating disorders. If you're completely healthy she's probably fine, but overall it was the worst experience I've had at Harvard Vanguard. She is an older doctor, which unfortunately should have been the first sign despite the ethical obligation to remain updated on new science.

I signed up with Dr. Wagner because it is close to my house and I am glad that I did! I went through few primary doctors until I found Dr. Wagner. I don't think I will not change to other primary doctors anymore. Compare to other primary physicians, she really pays attentions to me and I am very please with her kindness. The other day, I had a question about over the counter medication, so I send an email to her and she called me back within 15 min or so after I send an email. It was actually Dr. Wagner who called me back instead of N.P. I thought that was very nice of her and I was glad with her quick response. I also just had my annual check up and she spend good 45min with me and all the exam was done very professionally. She asked many questions about my health. Beside, we also had few personal conversation here and there. I thought that was very nice too. If you are looking for a primary doctor who can be personal, she is the one!

She yelled at me and told me my appointment was for my back and I would have to make another appointment for the lump on my breast. Are you kidding??? Her intimidating personality made it difficult to speak up. It took a few weeks to get in to see her. When she finally felt the lump she yelled at me and asked why did I wait so long to have this checked, it was a tumor, not a cyst like I had thought. Awesome! I continued seeing this awful doctor for awhile and dealing with her abuse. The one time I left in tears because of frustration of her abuse, I then called and talked to her manager and she told me this was not the first call on this situation. I then started seeing Dr. Trimizi. Nice guy, but bad doctor. First mess up: I went in with a running injury, I thought I had a pulled groin muscle. He agreed and left it at that, I had to ask for a referral to a PT but he did not give me a re feral for an Orthopedic. I ran a marathon on this "pulled muscle" and after I finished the marathon and was carried to the medical tent, an MRI showed that I had 3 fractures in my pelvis. Theirs more. I called CVS to have a prescription refilled. This is a medication that I have been on for 10 years and Dr. Singh was the last doctor to write for it. I went in to CVS three days later and the medication was not there. This was normal for getting refills. The office usually had to be called 2-3 times before I would get my medication. Well the last two times I had to get this medication was hell!! Myself and CVS kept calling for this refill and we were getting no response. I finally talked to a receptionist a week later and they told me Dr. Singh was not working there anymore. Let me get this right, if shes not there do I magically not need this medication? Shouldn't I have gotten a call? Then I talked to Dr. Trimizi and he told me he was not comfortable prescribing this medication. A medication I have been on for 10 years and that I can't go off of. After crying and pleading he called it in. I got the medication 10 days late. I tryed to find the proper doctor to prescribe this but it took awhile to get in with that doctor. The following month I needed Dr. Trimizi to call it in again. This was the worst situation ever!! He wouldn't call it in, I cryed and pleaded and he finally gave me only enough till my appointment. Reading this doesn't give the situation justice. I have since found a new PCP. Thank god!!!! It's hard to find a doctor in Boston that excepts new patients which is why I stayed with the Caritas group. I found my new doctor on here and I love them. DO NOT GO TO THESE DOCTORS!!!!!!!

I watched my mother suffer for years in and out of St Elizabeths hospital, and had to monitor her every stay. My aunt was told her breast was fine, only to find out that she had stage 3 breast cancer a year later. My grandmother and mother both died under the brutal conditions of St Elizabeths Hospital and lack of care at what is now Caritas Medical Group. Still for some reason I have hung on because they know me and my history has been there. I see Dr Powell and I have been a breast cancer survivor for about 6 years now ( I detected my own cancer and found a surgeon at MGH). Dr. Powell has always been a straight shooter, sometimes a little harsh and I was okay with it until recently when at my last physical she was very unprofessional in stating that " my mother was just an example of a bad gene pool" I can't remember exactly the word she used but it was so insulting and painful to hear. She recently called me to tell me that she will no longer refer out of her network so I have to choose from the doctors at Caritas. I see all of my doctors at MGH to follow up with breast exams and oncology yet she explained she has allowed this up until this point. I also see a neurosurgeon because I was diagnosed with a problem that needs surgery and now I am worried she will not approve any referral to a neurosurgeon I am comfortable with. So I am finally breaking ties and have a new primary care consult coming up. I would say stay away from this practice, they are very mean and really don't care about how you are feeling. They are just getting through their day and there are way too many Doctors in MA to waste your life with them!
