Normally i'm very understanding of changes, situations. But for the manager to call me a liar is beyond acceptable. We purchased appliances for the kitchen nearly a month ago. Schedule delivery date for april first. I know, i know, april fools right.... was supposed to receive a message?Giving me a four hour block the day before. No message received so I went online.... Shows delivery date changed to monday, april six. After rescheduling various work activities to take the first off... Now i'm forced to reschedule those activities again for april six. I spoke to the manager and explained to him that a phone call. Thank you very much for this. When they determined there was a delivery problem would have been beneficial.... His statement was, we did try to call you voicemail, but voice mail is full. Which I know to be total b*******. Due to my position, my voicemail is always empty. Except for save extremely important messages. Hey explained that to dustin..... Essentially telling me I was wrong that my voicemail was full. Dustin from the Rapid City store solidify idea that i will discontinue my membership with lowe's, close out my accounts, and work with stores that will support customers even when there is a problem with a purchase. I ordered several thousand dollars worth of cabinets. Lowes told me they would be delivered on 12/4, but they didn't come. I tried calling the store, but no one answered. I let the phone ring for 25 minutes and then drove to the store. When I got there the phone was still ringing. The light was flashing on the phone at the customer service desk and no one was paying any attention. After insisting that I speak to the general manager, an associate finally callled the shipper who said the delivery wouldn't be until 12/12. The general manager was doing interviews and the assistant couldn't explain why no one was answering the phone. This level of service is unacceptable. read more

Fair warning: Some of the employees that work here have no customer service skills. Appliances: I was ignored a few months ago when I came in shopping for a washer and dryer. The rude girl didn't even acknowledge / look at me or asked me if she could help me. Online Pickup / Customer Service: I did an order online and one of the items arrived there in their mailbox which showed on my app via tracking number. When I went to pick it up with the other item they said that the receiving department person was gone for the day and I would have to come back whenever they accepted the item in their system. Almost a week went by and no response. Everyday I was checking my order status and nothing. I had to call the store to track down my other item from my order. Eventually it was found in their mailbox due to its parcel size along with other peoples order items. Needless to say there's a problem with receiving items here since items are not being collected from their mailbox. I hope it's fixed now. Also, there is an old rude woman in the pickup desk who has twice been rude to me and doesn't even acknowledge people who are waiting forever in line. Twice already I have waited on her and she's always distracted doing something else other than focusing on the customer in front of her, hence why the wait is so long. She also has an attitude problem as well. In summary, the online ordering and pickup here is a pain. Next time, I will just ship it to my home and or use a different competitor. read more

I have 5 appliances with the Lowe's protection plan purchased in the last 2 years. Dishwasher was making noise so I called the protection claims 2/17/25 and was told no repair company was found in my area and would be contacted in 2 days! Well as of today 3/27/25 no response from them! So I had the dishwasher fixed by a local appliance repair company. I filled a claim to get a reimbursement for the cost I paid out. Lowe's protection plan won't reimburse me because I don't follow their procedure for reimbursement! They were supposed to contact me and never did that's why I had it fixed! Lowe's corporate office said there isn't any thing they can do to help me! I won't purchase anything from Lowe's anymore with their terrible customer service! I would give zero stars but 1 is the lowest. Appliance dept. never answers the phone. They installed new Maytag washer on the right, Maytag dryer on the left. The two doors come together in the middle so you have to work around both doors. Never get anything from these guys, installers don't speak English, have no clue. As stated in the reviews of this store, the customer service is terrible, particularly the lady working the orders/returns counter. I am remodeling a house in Rapid City and live in Southern California, so am out there every other weekend and unfortunately this is the only big brand Home Improvement Store that is both there and where I live, so have to use it. I bought 4 outlets that I wrung up at the counter two weeks prior, there was some kind of issue so the worker at the self service check out line did something and I proceeded the order. I needed to return all 4 outlets two weeks later, and they had never been taken out of the bag. When I went to the counter with my receipt to return this woman gave me attitude from the get go. My favorite quote was "the scanner doesn't lie" so I guess she was calling me a liar. I kept my cool and just let her be miserable as I knew I could just return it at home in CA without issue and didn't want to cause a scene. I am a business owner and have owned a chain of retail stores and would never allow someone with this attitude be one of my front line workers and based on other reviews, one of which specifies this exact person doing the same thing, obviously the rot is at the top. Maybe someone in Lowes corporate should take a look at this store as she is not the only employee that I have noticed this type of attitude. They all seem to be at that counter. I worked at Lowes home improvement in Rapid City, South Dakota. I worked in the millwork department. The management in that store was very sad and because of that the morale of the employees was very low leading to poor customer service if you look at the reviews for that store, you will see that they are terribly low and is due to favoritism of the management, mainly the head manager And not property managing his store. I work for other Lowes stores mainly in Fort Worth, Texas and it's the same way poor management I don't understand why a large company doesn't have better management in their stores, but it's gotten worse over the years. I informed LOWE'S PROTECTION PLUS PLAN that the service vendor, Ashton Electronics, provided poor customer service and it's representatives were dismisive, disrespectful and rude. I requested to cancel the service with this vendor and requested to initiate a service contract with the other Vendor listed on Victory Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. I was first told by one supervisor, "Jo", July 18, that I had the option to change vendors and start the service request from the beginning with the other vendor. I then spoke with another supervisor, "Mikaela", today, July 21, she told me that I did not I have that option, that, I would have to proceed with Ashton Electronics. This lowes has the worst customer service I have ever received at a Lowe's. Without fail, every time we go and need assistance it takes multiple attempts to get someone to address our needs. We have waited in different areas of the store for well over a half hour for any kind of help to arrive after having walked to the front of the store to request help in our section (blinds, wood cutting, appliances, etc). When we go to the customer service counter there is usually only one or two employees there who can usually NOT answer any of our questions. They are slow, disorganized, and unhelpful. Our orders always take much longer than the expected pick up date and there is no communication from the store as to why it takes so long or when things will be ready. Do not recommend this location which is sad since it is the only lowes in town. read more

I placed an order last Monday for a Tuesday delivery, i received a conformation the delivery was scheduled from 10am to 10 pm, delivery location is a .10 of a mile from the location. Our corporate office is in Dallas, Texas. I sent a crew there to Rapid City, SD to resolve thee work to find out a week later the delivery was never made. and when I contact the Lowes the delivery driver was off. No communication, except yesterday I received an email saying the delivery was reschedule for Monday, than yesterday evening was scheduled for Tuesday, this morning receiving a delay message not being delivered until tomorrow.. With frustration, on top the delivery fee, and when I waited and spoke with the manager Mike, no real answers were given, I would say in my industry the General Manager would not be there. this is one of the lowest rated Lowes in the US. My residential water heater was found to be leaking (10 PM). Went on internet to search for replacement options. Lowes web site promotes they offer installation as an option. -THOUGHT- Lowes had a good reputation so I entered my details and especially my precise location/zip. Within a few minutes I recieved an email with a work order and a number to call. The number was a "630" area code, which when called they informed me they are in Illinois and they dont service SD. I sent the automated service at Lowes an email and the next day recieved another email regarding my work order and to call my installation provider at an "866" number. I called that number and was informed they service 15 states but nothing in SD. I immediately called the Lowes customer service number and was told the only number they have is that "866" number. I just bought a water heater from a local plumbers supply and installed in approximately 2 hrs. Will never waste time with Lowes again. read more

if I could choose zero stars I would. Ordered a new refrigerator and delivery was set for Thursday 10/13. Tried to reach the store to confirm delivery window call was still coming after no call had occurred on 10/12 by 5pm. No one at the store will pick up the phone. After nearly 15 minutes someone in hardware finally picked up the phone and was able to tell us they would call before 8pm. Delivery arrives on time on Thursday and old refrigerator is removed from house. New refrigerator is brought it and it's no where near what was ordered. They tried to deliver an apartment sized fridge. Approx $2000 less than model that was supposed to be delivered. Offered to leave wrong model until correct one could be brought but would prefer we not use it if we don't have to. Asked them to take it with them as did not want to be responsible for something that we did not own. Called back to store to figure out when correct refrigerator would be delivered and after another 15 minutes to get someone to answer phone the rudest person ever answered. Said we could get it delivered by Saturday. Could care less that we would be without a refrigerator for 2 days due to their screw up and offered nothing in return. "Corporate" replied to a Facebook post and their private message response was nothing more than canned wording and verification that we are set for delivery sometime on Saturday. Wish this town had more options. We will not be giving them another dime. read more

Sad to say that Lowe's has really gone down the hill big time! Will admit that they might sell some decent products, however they do NOT follow through on their delivery and other promises. If you need some type of appliance go ahead & let them deliver and take away old! However expect to end up paying for someone else to do the installation of of said appliance. I brought a washer & drier from them 3 months ago that they had to come out and re-install due to their delivery people not understanding how to install. They had not even bothered to balance the dryer. That meant I lost two days due to their faulty installment, because I was given a 4 hour window each time. Just last Saturday they delivered a refrigerator with an ice maker! Hey it is exactly what I wantedd and thought it would be. However I asked twice about installation of ice maker prior to paying, with the same yes it will be installed as part of their free delivery. Upon delivery they did not connect the ice maker as promised when they delivered it. They had all sorts of excuse. So after the delivery on Saturday I called the store twice. The first call I got disconnected after wainting almost 15 minutes for someone to answer. The second, call I waited over 20 minutes before I hung up & just went to the store. Finally the store sends someone out to install the ice maker today. They called at 9:20 to say they would be at my house in 10 to 15 minutes. At 10:50 he finally arrived with no tools, just an extra hose. All he had to do was hook up the hose to where the old hose had been. "I'm no plumber' lady" was what the guy said. Clean and neat with all the usual stuff you'd expect to find at Lowe's. Even though we live over a 1,000 miles away, hubby and I still seem to be in this Lowe's a few times a year - every visit to the family in the area. We've bought all sorts of things in this location: hand tools, appliances, the supplies to build a 10'x12' deck, plants, etc., etc. Friendly and helpful employees. Rapid has a few competitor's for Lowe's scattered about the town, but if you're on the north or west side of town, this is the go-to store. read more

DO NOT hire lowes or kluge bros to install your floors... I arranged for lowes to install new flooring in my house. The installer(Kluge Bros) began taking the old flooring out and was told that we wanted to save the old flooring, we also told lowes this. They took the old flooring out wrapped it up nice and neat put it in their vehicle, when asked about the old flooring they told us that it was damaged during removal and was thrown away, sounds a little suspect to me. Anyways the kluge began installing the new flooring, it was cut terrible and the gaps were unsightly, i think my grand daughter could have done better, the gaps were out 3/4 inch from the wall and a 1/4 inch from the trim, it looked like junk. No under lament was taped down so the flooring moved. Kluge also broke a water line when moving the fridge, he stated its just a little drip we can just put the fridge back, kluge did not know how to shut off the water, he then proceeded to start yelling at my wife and calling her profane names. Kluge then took the crew and said were leaving, walked out in the middle of the job. We called lowes and an employee said he is known for yelling at customers and even lowes employees, and lowes is sending this guy out to customers houses? When the kluge foreman walked out he took 5 boxes of flooring with him, when confronted he said it was some of the old flooring scraps, if the flooring was damaged when it was taken up why would he want to take it with him, he took some of the new floor. There is a lot more to this story but i think i wrote more than people would read.. in short we hired lowes in good faith to install our floors, between kluge and lowes nothing has been made right from anybody. We just want somebody to do the right thing and it looks like once again the little guy is getting the shaft from the big stores. If you look at reviews on lowes in rapid city the reviews are less than stellar for lowes or kluge bros. Save yourself and your sanity, hire someone yourself, someone that has integrity and pride in a good honest job well done, obviously neither lowes or kluge bros is interested in that, just how much money they can make off of the working class chump. My husband and I were at Lowe's today to buy lumber and some other items. At checkout, we requested the military discount (yes, my husband is retired military). Our total was approximately $180.00. We received $4.00 off of the total that is because not all our lumber was eligible for any discounts. We did not know this and found out you have to scan the QR at the registers to find out what items are eligible. That is a load of CRAP! We will be going to Menards for future purchases. We hired them for a $12,000 fence install in September. The installer did a horrible job - posts higher and lower, no sense of following the terrain, not enough material was ordered, so it went unfinished for a long time. When we called the issues to the attention of the installer he wanted us to pay to have him do it right - at least Lowe's interjected themselves to keep that from happening. After 6 return trips from the contractor, we still didn't have the fence wholly closed (parts missing) and the gates didn't align. Lowe's committed again and again that the contractor would be out and/or contact us, but each was a broken promise. Lowe's made commitments to contact us regularly, but weeks would go by and we'd have to reach out to them again and again to get any kind of a status update. Finally, in May (9 MONTHS LATER), after we told them we were going to dispute the whole cost, they brought in another contractor who did the 1-day's worth of work necessary to get it all fixed. We had bids from them to do a deck in the front and a deck in the back, totaling nearly $40,000. There is no chance on earth we'll be going with them for those projects. read more

Ordered a dishwasher online, with pickup service at the store. Got home (100 miles away) and they had loaded a white whirlpool instead of a stainless steel Samsung! Spent days trying to get through to the store. Phone would ring for 20-30 minutes and then someone would pick up the receiver and hang it up. I finally had a friend go to the store and put me on speaker to try to find out if they had my dishwasher in stock so I didn't make a trip for nothing. She told me she couldn't help me until I returned the other dishwasher or I should talk to the appliance manager but I would have to call the store number. (The one they refuse to answer! WTH) . Left another message with corporate customer service line and was told I'd hear from the store manager or appliance manager within 72 hours. Nope. Waited another week and made the trip back to the store and they luckily had my dishwasher and said they would give me a credit to help cover cost and inconvenience of wrong item. Still hasn't gone through my credit card after 3 weeks. Left a message a few days ago but, surprise, surprise, radio silence. We've been good customers for over 15 years, can't walk through a room in our house without seeing lighting, tile, appliances from Lowes. Sad to say we are finished shopping there. I have been calling Lowe's in Rapid City for 32 minutes and have yet to have anyone actually answer the phone. I am calling to try to arrange delivery and installation of two doors for my house. I began the order process in February and have as yet to receive any doors. The phone number on my order paperwork is incorrect and even though I have corrected it more than half a dozen times, I have been told that they cannot change my phone number in the system, but they will "write it down". To date, no one has returned any of my calls, I have paid for but never received two exterior storm doors, and it is now 6 months since I began the order process. What will it take to speak with a human being and actually receive the services for which I have paid? It appears as though the answer to this question is "NEVER", which I could live with if someone would just answer the phone. read more

I financed $6300 to have 7 windows +trim replaced in my house. The windows look great... the trim, not so much! I was sold/told I would have matching trim. It is not the same as my door trim or even the same trim as the previous windows. Some of the trim doesn't even touch the back of the wall and there is damage to my wall when the old trim was removed from one of the window's in my son's room. If I could attach a picture I would. I spoke to Lowe's. I was told the contractor would be willing to come back to take a look and quote me a very good price as a favor to fix the issues... what?? I just spent $6300 to have Lowe's and this contractor do it in the first place! Now I have to pay to have the same contractor come and fix his shoddy work??!! I regret this whole project! Horrible customer service, 100% of the time! Whenever there are actual employees in the department, they ignore us and look like they hope we don't ask them any questions. Most of the time there aren't any employees working in their assigned departments and their answer is, "I don't know, this isn't my department." We have gone in looking to get information on making custom bathroom countertops, tried to inquire about Trex decking, looked for shower inserts, window coverings.... the customer service has ALWAYS been terrible every time we've walked through those doors.
