Cam was very personable and this is a great place to buy appliances (my daughter has bought a few from them and has not be disappointed). Fair prices (better than Lowe's or Home Depot for a better fridge), prompt delivery and install and haul off old one - and at a very reasonable rate. John Masters who delivered and did our install was also on time and kept me informed on his arrival time. Akai inspected the entire unit and indicated the issue was the defroster in the freezer wasn't working and needed to be replaced. He quoted me what I thought was a very fair price but before I could say "Shut up and take my money!" he added that when he had unplugged the unit & plugged it back in, when starting up again the compressor sounded a bit suspicious. Thus he indicated I could go ahead and pay him to install a new defroster in the freezer, but it is only a matter of time before the compressor craps out and then replacing it would be over $1,000 and not worth it. So get this....he proposes that I defrost it the old school way by unplugging it, opening both the freezer & fridge doors, placing towels in front of the unit, and allowing all of the ice to melt and then just mop up all the water with towels and my wet vac and that would solve the problem for now. And in a few months when the issue occurs again I can just repeat the old school defrosting method until the compressor finally goes kaput, and then get a brand new refrigerator. Sure enough, I proceeded to do exactly what he recommended and lo and behold the fridge & freezer started working properly again. And I am all too happy to repeat every few months to squeeze every last bit of life from this old fridge until I have to get a new one. Akai could have very easily kept quiet about the compressor sounding sketchy and that it could fail in 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years and gotten a nice service order for replacing the defroster since he had already devoted the valuable time & effort to come to my house. However, he instead chose to be completely honest and forthcoming which is not as common as it should be and is very appreciated. I have saved his contact info and the next time I have any issues with any appliances he will be the technician I call. Knowledge and experience is great and there are a lot of qualified & knowledgeable appliance repair companies out there. However, also possessing honesty and integrity is why I strongly recommend Akai for any appliance repair issues.

The cust service rep was polite & knowledgeable. She said that it is best if I call the manufacturer directly cause I am the customer and will get a faster reply than her. She gave me all the product #, tel # and what to say. She said that she still can call for me but I will get the replacement part faster. So I called myself and the mfg sent the part within 10 days. but still the electrician can't make it work with the new part. I called LB again to ask for help. This time she said she will get me a replacement for the whole fan with the mfg. I got it within 2 weeks and this time it works. It looks and works good. The technician showed up, said he needed to order parts and we never heard from them again. They refuse to answer the phone and believe they blocked us after a while. After almost 2 months of trying to make this work, we contacted Lowes who then told us the technician filed a report saying he was unable to do the work because he claimed it was out of warranty. I am sure he got paid by Lowes for the visit, so it sounds like he is either mistaking us for someone else or... Anyway, Lowes said there is nothing we can do until we "make things right" with this company. I just called my credit card company and filed a claim thru them. So, avoid both Lowes service protection and this company. Update: called mrappliance.com who gave me an appointment immediately and repaired the appliance the same day. They are awesome. I will now update my claim with Chase Sapphire to include reimbursement for these repairs. Advice remains: avoid Lowes and all their fly-by-night repair associates.

I was scheduled for the following Saturday, on the 20th. So Friday the 19th I call to confirm my appointment set the week prior, only to be asked what was wrong with my dryer "besides it not working like we wrote down". Those words never left my mouth. From the very first phone call I had described my problem to the tee, even addressing which part needed to be repaired. Saturday November 20th comes, and I wait all day for someone to show up. I get a phone call at 4:15 pm from the technician finally!!! He then asks me....again for the third time, what is wrong with my dryer. He says "the part store is closed and I can't get that part until Monday". A week of advanced notice and they still don't have my part?!?!? I was told he can get it Monday morning and install it then, a day where I have to now take off work and lose pay. I set the appointment for today, Tuesday November 22, and was told he'd be here by 8am. At 8am, a call was placed to the technician because he was not here, I was told that he STILL needed to get the part. 1030 am, call #2, was told "we're still trying to pick up the part" 11:15 am, I get a call from the technician stating he has a flat tire, and that he was going to "slap the spare on and be on his way, I'm right down the street". 1:15pm a call was placed to the main office, wondering where, why, and how any of this was happening. "He had issues with his son, was running late".......so flat tire or issues with the son??? Finally at 1:30pm, the technician shows up and finishes within 15 minutes. I called 713-451-0753 first thing Thursday morning at *8:03 AM, and was told a technician would be dispatched THAT DAY, and that they would call me 30 minutes before heading to my house. I left work early on 10/11 around 3pm, as I still had not heard from repair person. I called to follow up, and a female told me that the ETA was 45 minutes this was around a little after 3. At :3;57 pm a call came in from 713-824-9409 , he identified himself as the repairman, he verbalized he didn't realize how far away I reside ( I live in Katy), so he could not come that far today. Further, that he did not even know what he was coming to my home regarding (clueless as to the repeat repair). Once he firmly told me he was NOT coming to my house the day, we agreed to today 10/13/2017 at 4:30 PM. I called his office spoke with a female he said she would call the repair supervisor as he was suppose to be coming to my house, and he had not called in to tell them he wasn't coming. No one , not the lady neither the supervisor called back. I left work and came home to wait and NO repair person, as well no answer on their phone when I called at 4:52 pm. This is a rip off and very disrespectful! I will be purchasing a dryer from Best Buy. I did not, however, think I'd be returning so quickly to do just that: replace a dishwasher that had gone kaput. When the control board and pump failed on my existing Bosch dishwasher, I knew exactly where to go so that I didn't have to pearl dive in the sink any more. I came here once, looked around, took notes and then went home and did my research. When I figured out which model would best suit me, I came back to buy. Lee assisted us again, as he had helped us with our oven. Very knowledgeable and informative, he helped me figure out that getting a model one step up from my initial choice was really a no-brainer (price difference was negligible and features were more comprehensive and intuitive). Prices here are extremely competitive and part of the reason that I returned here was because of their superior installation crew. Now, these are not your builder-grade or builder-supply store selection of dishwashers. I did not, however, go over the top price-wise with my purchase. I feel I got a quality machine at a very fair price that was expertly installed, exactly when they promised it would be here. Highly recommended. I would not hesitate to return should I need to replace another major appliance.

The accessories were suddenly not available and he now says he can't get them anymore?!?!!!! :-[ They need to be closed down.
