Knowledgeable and Trustworthy! I have a 15+ year old refrigerator that neither the refrigerator or freezer were working. Akai inspected the entire unit and indicated the issue was the defroster in the freezer wasn't working and needed to be replaced. He quoted me what I thought was a very fair price but before I could say "Shut up and take my money!" he added that when he had unplugged the unit & plugged it back in, when starting up again the compressor sounded a bit suspicious. Thus he indicated I could go ahead and pay him to install a new defroster in the freezer, but it is only a matter of time before the compressor craps out and then replacing it would be over $1,000 and not worth it. So get this....he proposes that I defrost it the old school way by unplugging it, opening both the freezer & fridge doors, placing towels in front of the unit, and allowing all of the ice to melt and then just mop up all the water with towels and my wet vac and that would solve the problem for now. And in a few months when the issue occurs again I can just repeat the old school defrosting method until the compressor finally goes kaput, and then get a brand new refrigerator. Sure enough, I proceeded to do exactly what he recommended and lo and behold the fridge & freezer started working properly again. And I am all too happy to repeat every few months to squeeze every last bit of life from this old fridge until I have to get a new one. Akai could have very easily kept quiet about the compressor sounding sketchy and that it could fail in 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years and gotten a nice service order for replacing the defroster since he had already devoted the valuable time & effort to come to my house. However, he instead chose to be completely honest and forthcoming which is not as common as it should be and is very appreciated. I have saved his contact info and the next time I have any issues with any appliances he will be the technician I call. Knowledge and experience is great and there are a lot of qualified & knowledgeable appliance repair companies out there. However, also possessing honesty and integrity is why I strongly recommend Akai for any appliance repair issues. read more

He was able to fit me in same day I called. I appreciate that he applied the trip charge towards any work that needs to be done . He is very knowledgeable about different appliances and he knew mine right away and he had an idea what it could be and sure enough it was the soap & softener dispenser. He showed me how to remove & clean it. It had held water wasn't draining back into the machine like it was supposed to just a minor little thing but now I know how to clean it periodically. Worth it for my peace of mind & also made sure I knew where my water shut off was just in case. These are good things to know , most people might not & that I'm a woman & older, it's good to know. Plus it doesn't hurt to have my machine looked at after 16 years. I've been here so I won't be afraid to use my washing machine so thank you AKIA. read more

A & G Appliances - Samsung front loader 16 years old it's good to have it maintain the last longer - Appliances & Repair Near Me

I had an excellent experience with A & G Appliances. I contacted them regarding the ice maker in my 15-year-old refrigerator that had suddenly stopped working. Akai was able to work me into his schedule that same day, which I very much appreciated. He quickly diagnosed a frozen fill tube and set to work thawing it. Ultimately, he was able to clear the line and force the ice maker refill, but cautioned that it might not be a permanent fix. Given the refrigerator's age, there could be additional issues preventing the ice maker from behaving normally. However, replacement parts for the model I have are costly and difficult to source. That proved to be the case in this instance, unfortunately. Even though I'll be using ice trays for the time being, I was very pleased with Akai's honest and professional service. I would not hesitate to recommend A & G Appliances to my friends and family. read more

Akai is very responsive, knowledgeable and professional. He was able to come and evaluate my non-functional stove quickly and took the time to show and explain why it wasn't working. He wore booties in the house while he worked and fixed the problem within 20 minutes. Very transparent and fair pricing. Would definitely use him again for future repairs. Akai (owner/technician) was great. Responded quickly to fix a GE dryer; and arrived on-time. Diagnosed the problem quickly and had the necessary parts with him. No matter how old the machine or how stupid your mistakes are, Kia takes care of it Professional and thoughtful his price is alway right. If it seems to him that it might be a lot for the value of the machine, he's honest. But I have never felt anything less than valued as a customer. However, we must share that a 20.00 exploding feather pillow is $300 to clean up Akai was thoroughly diligent to make sure my next call wasn't to fire department Next time I will buy the new pillow read more

He's an honest, polite, kind guy and I highly recommend him! My refrigerator went out several years ago and he fixed it in no time. It went out again last week and he came, diagnosed it and ordered a control board. When the part came in, it powered the compressor but the compressor was shot. He took the part back off and left. He refused any payment for the 2 trips he made to my home! He also has given advice on my washing machine that was very helpful! read more

Akai picked up the phone, was available and showed up 15 minutes later to fix my dryer. He had the part in his truck already, and it took him 30 minutes to fix it. So from call to leaving it was 45 minutes. Safe to say he is my new appliance repair guy. I'd give him 10 stars if i could. read more

Fantastic service! Super responsive. Was able to diagnose the issue with my refrigerator over text message! Arrived within a few hours exactly on time, took great care in moving things around, cleaning up, covering his boots, working quickly, etc. What we thought would mean us possibly having to buy a new fridge ended being a small issue that will hopefully result in us keeping this one that I dearly love for a few more years! Thank you Akai! Will be sure to reach out to you for any other future appliance problems! read more

A & G Appliances - Fixing our refrigerator evaporator fan - Appliances & Repair Near Me

Akai is very knowledgeable about all major appliance brands. We needed a gas dryer repaired and the duct cleaned out. He did an amazing job, worked fast, and gave us a reasonable price. I highly recommend him and will be using him again in the future. I know he fixes Washers, Dryers, and Refrigerators - I am sure there are more. Give him a try. read more

Akai is amazing. Our problem was the dryer that made an odd noise when it was running. Akai fixed the area that looked like it may have been damaged from the factory. He also came out the same day and informed us when he was on his way! Finally our dryer sounds normal when it is on. I HIGHLY recommend this company for any appliance problem you may have. read more

Akai was excellent to work with. He communicated clearly from the start, let me know when he was on his way and arrived right on time. He took the time to explain what was going on with both my oven and ice maker, walked me through the fixes and tested everything to make sure it was working properly before he left. He also made sure to use original parts. Professional, thorough and easy to work with - I'd highly recommend him! read more

There's a reason they have amazing reviews. I reached out to them when my dryer stopped working late at night and did not expect them to get back to me so quickly. Akai reached out that same night and helped me troubleshoot and sent me a link to Amazon to purchase a knob replacement. It worked! The only thing I paid for was the knob replacement from Amazon. I know NOTHING about dryers so they could've easily taken advantage of me by coming in and charging me for a service I could've easily done myself. However, they clearly know how to get loyal customers to come back to them. I will forever use their services and trust that they won't try to nickel and dime me. I HIGHLY recommend them for your appliances needs. read more

Akai, the owner, responded to my request very quickly and was able to fix my washer the next day. Price was very reasonable. He did not try to upsell me on other things to fix. I would definitely call him again with any appliance problem. He said he does most anything kitchen and laundry related. read more

I initially hired another appliance repair company, but they turned out to be a fraud. They didn't know how to fix older washing machines. Then I found this repair technician on Yelp, and he was a godsend. He came over and quickly resolved my issue with the washing machine. I will definitely be using his services again. read more

This was the single most satisfying experience I have ever had with a service technician. And I mean ever. Akai was on time, professional and communicated each step of the way during the repair process. He takes pride in his work and actually left the work area, our utility room, cleaner than he found it. I am not surprised that he has nothing but 5 Star reviews on review websites. I am pleased to add my 5 Stars to that number. G read more

Excellent service experience. Prompt response to text messages. Informed me when en route. Although my fridge repair was a simple piece of plastic flapping in the fan, i am so grateful for the honest assessment of the issue. Answered several questions I had about the fridge function in a friendly and unhurried way. Keeping the contact if I need them in the future. Highly recommend. read more

Reached out for an estimate for an old fridge that stopped working. A&G asked several questions, demonstrating deep knowledge and diagnosed the general problem via text. They helped provide a best case and worst case estimate for repairs. This allowed me to make the decision that replacement would be the better option. So while they never did a repair for me, they willingly shared their time and expertise to help me get to the right answer with no gain for themselves. I will definitely be saving their number for when (not if) the next appliance stops working. read more

I had a great experience with Akai. He was extremely helpful and responsive. I reached out yesterday afternoon about my washer not spinning. It has been less than 24 hrs since then and it's been fixed. He took the time to walk me through what the issue could be and provided me with a reasonable quote before coming by. Once here, he explained the issue to me and what he was going to do to repair it. Highly recommend him for any appliance repair! read more

I hired Akia after reading positive reviews. I was living remote so I did all communications via yelp and texting. Initial scheduling of appointment was a bit tough because of his busy schedule. He was super responsive and scheduled me in. Quick diagnosis of the issues with my stove and went to work on repairing it. In and out with no fuss. Looking forward to hiring Akia again for future jobs when it comes up. read more

I called to set an appointment for a repair on an ice cube clapper. He had no idea what that was. Highly recommend A&G Appliances!!! I called and was able to speak with Akai immediately, and within a few minutes he told me what he thought the issue might be, we discussed pricing, and he was at my house the next day! Akai got my dryer repaired super fast, and communicated everything clearly and honestly throughout the process. It's rare nowadays to find a business with integrity AND honest pricing, but these guys do it! Don't call anyone else - call A&G! read more

My new refrigerator was much too large for the door entrance so the doors had to be removed to get through. I was concerned that removing all the doors and drawers would cause problems during reinstallation but Akai had no problem with this lengthy and difficult task. One of the doors did not want to adjust onto the mounting post correctly and that caused the install to go a bit longer than expected, but he stuck with it and was able to overcome the complicated LG designed door mounting. We had a nice conversation about appliance best practices and now I feel better armed and educated for future purchases. Akai is the BEST! I hope he takes good care b/c he will be the only call for future installs and repairs read more
