I would love for this establishment to know all the wonderful things about my husband, he is and an amazing husband, father, teacher, and Veteran. Unfortunately all these wonderful things are lost to some based on the color of his skin. No one should be made to feel singled out or discriminated against just for walking into a store. The day after x-mas, I drove to this store in order to have a piece of glass cut for a picture…read moreframe that I built for a customer of mine. I had always wondered why the parking lot was always empty and after my first and final visit, I know why! I was met by a very short, older man who had a very bad attitude. I told him that I needed a piece of glass cut for my picture frame and he sort of grunted and extended his hand towards the frame, so I handed it to him. He proceeded to grab it by one corner while dragging the opposite corner on the floor. I immediately asked him: "PLEASE, do not drag my frame on the floor, it is for a customer of mine" to which he gave me a sideways look and stormed off towards the back of the store. I followed him and took a few steps back into the room that he took my frame, just far enough to peek around the corner and see him toss the frame onto the workbench without taking any precautions to protect it. He looked at me and told me to leave the area and I did. After about 15 minutes, he brings the frame out with no glass in it, stating that he was unable to cut a piece of glass to the dimensions of the frame and he told me what he got when he measured it and those measurements were nowhere close to the required dimensions. Afterall, I know what the dimensions are since I BUILT THAT FRAME! While I was waiting, there was a pregnant girl spreading epoxy onto an old dirty tree stump. I am not sure about who manages that place but to allow a pregnant person to handle and breathe in those chemicals, is totally and completely irresponsible. I ended up taking my frame to Joughins hardware on State St. in Painesville and they actually knew how to cut a piece of glass, unlike the "little person" that didn't know how to, at Crile hardware, it fit perfectly and it was cut from a standard sheet of double strength glass. If you want a professional and knowledgeable staff to deal with in the hardware business, go to Joughins and don't waste your time at Crile road. After repairing the damage done to the frame that was caused by the "little person" at Crile road, I finally delivered the frame to my customer and he was very happy.

The tile-picking experience was fine (I will give mad props to Charlie), but when it came to buy…read moretile, I was left feeling bamboozled and hung out to dry. And I spent nearly $60K on brick and tile at this place. First, the upcharge on freight was bananas. I ordered tile from a total of 4 vendors... One was the same tile quoted by Thomas Brick at 20% the freight costs (same tile, same quantity, same origin, same destination... 80% cheaper freight). I also purchased tile online from 3 vendors, 4-5 times as much tile per order, most California so it had just as far to go.. and didn't pay as much freight as they upcharged for 1/4th as much tile. And finally (and most bizarrely), I opted to pick up one type of tile myself... 7 boxes (by the way, freight on 7 boxes was $600+). I was told I'd have to load it myself... no worries, it's 7 boxes. But when it came in, suddenly I was given a whole bunch of mushy reasons why I had to go all the way across town to pick it up... First it was "manpower limitations", then it was "policy"... None of it was explained ahead of time. You'd think with those crazy freight costs they would deliver it to the store from which I ordered it? Also, they charge more tax than other places. Everyone else charges tax for the location of the jobsite or delivery, which is lower in my case, but their "policy" is to charge the full Cuyahoga county tax despite jobsite.

We were looking for brick and they had a lot of options. The sales guy wes very helpful and knowledgeable. I had to pickup order on Saturday and he personally helped me to load my order.
