Ok, I'm giving this place 3 stars now. After 9 months of getting our drapes and blinds wrong, not sending correct color, sizes, THE ITEMS themselves, forgetting to reorder, not returning our calls ( also no one in management has voice mail in these stores so you have to rely on someone passing a note to the person you're working with) - AFTER ALL of this..... resolve! 9 full months of me bitching, crying., pleading, screaming....they are finally installed and correct! My husband and I cannot believe it's over! The thing they did right and although we had to negotiate a bit, was they compensated us fairly. For this they get a couple extra stars. I still doubt I'll trust them again or shop there but they told us at the end they would monetarily compensate. At first, they offered it in the beginning to get me to agree to a price but I kept saying, let's wait and see how much longer this will take.! Good thing because I told them months ago and repeated it frequently when it was discussed that I feel 10% for each month you get this wrong is fair compensation. I said that way back in month 3 and held fast to it. 9 months later.... we received exactly that. 90% off! It was the right thing for Lowe's to do, and they knew it. Arguing with me is pointless because I'm retired guys, I have all the time in the world to argue with you. We received the amount back into our account the day I had to call Brad, the store manager, back a week after the work was all complete ( he wasn't going to call but assured me he had planned to just that same day!). Since we paid cash it was a quick fix back into our account and Brad, finally did the right thing. It was best my husband and I didn't go back in to Lowe's to resolve our compensation no matter how good it was. My husband does not want to meet Brad. So, if you have time, no patience but enough stick-to-it-ness to put up with their horrible customer service, incompetence and uncaring attitudes, don't go to Lowe's unless you want a mess. We are happy with our end product, happy with Frank Lucas, the contractor who ended up, at our request , to do remaining installs on everything and happy with the compensation. I really wish I felt Lowe's learned something valuable from all of this and were able to teach their workers but I don't think management acknowledged the issues and so I doubt that happened. read more

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: If you're considering having Lowe's Home Improvement install your windows or sliding doors... take a page out of my story...JUST. DON'T. I could tell you about the sliding door that apparently had a complicated relationship with being level and never REALLY needed the screen doors installed within the first 15 months. I could tell you about the window installation that seems to have been approached with the philosophy of, "Eh, that looks about right. No need to have locking mechanisms or sills or seals where you live!" I could explain the gaps, the water issues, the trim, the alignment, the drafts, the damage, the multiple visits, the phone calls, the promises to "make it right," and the amount of time I've spent trying to get someone to actually fix what should have been done correctly the FIRST time. I could tell you all of this and not even tell you how many days of work my husband and I have had to take off over the last 15 months. But expecting Lowe's Home Improvement to order the right parts, all the parts, or any parts are only half the problem of this story. The customer service deserves its own chapter. Trying to get help has been an adventure in itself. Call one person get transferred to someone else explain the entire situation again get told someone will call you wait call back explain it all AGAIN get transferred repeat. At this point, I know more about Lowe's internal phone system than I ever wanted to know. The most frustrating part isn't even that things went wrong. Things happen. The frustrating part is the apparent lack of ownership when they do. Ask "Hannah" who became our assigned case manager. I shouldn't have to spend hours making phone calls, tracking down departments, repeating the same information, documenting problems, and advocating for a resolution to an installation for which I am paying in good faith. Lowes keeps telling me I have to wait until the finish line before they will resolve it! Did I mention this project has been ongoing for 15 months?! At this point, I could probably teach a continuing education course titled: "How NOT to Order all parts of a Window or Sliding Door so they can be Properly Installed-- A Lowe's Case Study." ‍ And the companion course: "Customer Service: How Many Times Can We Make a Customer Explain the Same Problem?" So if you're thinking, "Maybe I'll just have Lowe's install it because it will be easier or they have great financing or they have a store near me..." Consider this your sign. The products themselves may be perfectly fine. But based on my experience, I would NEVER recommend Lowe's installation services. Hire a professional who specializes in the work, knows how to do it correctly, and - most importantly - will actually take ownership when something goes wrong. Be aware when you purchase appliances there. We were told specifically the appliance we bought was eligible for a rebate on a protection plan. Well after submitting the rebate we then got an email saying it was not eligible because we bought it a week too soon. Now I am sure the salesman knew that. He was just wanting a bigger commission. You are getting a one star because, I can't give you a zero. Knowing that is summer time and the sun is out you only have two cashiers outside. Then the cashier is taking care of a customer that is not even buying anything. Three people switch lines but with the mess you try to stay where you are and 25 minutes later you are done with him and here we are in the other line with 4 customers now in front of us. Then we check out and my husband can't get his military discount because you switch something in the system and now we have to go inside.... are you for real! Never use Lowe's there corrupt and if you didn't know don't buy a mower till you plan to use it because it is a set up. They sold us a mower in April went to use it in June and paid 400 for a warranty the mower wouldn't even start we charged the battery then ten minutes later it started smoking and wouldn't start there horrible they wouldn't do nothing for us but offer to refund it and even had the nerve to tell us that we still might have to pay to get it fixed because our warranty doesn't cover it. Why do you pay for a warranty? I rral. If anyone was in our shoes you would not accept this mower because we paid for a 3000 dollar new mower and this isn't a new mower. A new mower starts when you go to start it and don't blow up on you. Never shop here Springfield ohio location manager name Ashley is the most disrespectful unprofessional manager I've seen. You guys this is from experience. They did this to my 85 ll6 year old grandma it broke down June 1st took them 2 weeks to cone get it and thry siad teo weeks to fix it. A member of my family custom ordered a picture window fourteen months ago. Following five unfulfilled delivery promises, my family member decided to cancel the order and get a refund. Having read some of the horror stories related to Lowe's refund practices, I was expecting a less than positive experience. Thanks to the efforts of store manager Travis (1601 N. Awww, HELL NO! Never again!!! I am referring specifically to the appliances department. It's still a good place to get your nails and screws and screwdrivers and paint, but it is the f***-ed uppest place to get appliance installation, bar none. I won't bother telling you my story, but I will say that if you purchase a major appliance that requires installation, be prepared to wait for a month for it to be installed. Horrible -- no, *non-existent* communication after purchase. "The installers will let you know when they'll be there." You have my money now! The least you can do is tell me how long. Of I could give 0 stars I would. Wow what a terrible experience. First the wouldn't price match home depot for the same thing. We went ahead them. Cause we needed it asap. Was assured that we get it from 4:30 p.m to 6:00pm tomorrow. Received and automated call to tell me 7am to 11am. Called there corporate number who said call the store. The store said call the delivery company. The delivery company said call the store. Now the corporate number says whe will work with the store manager who will call me tomorrow. Bought a $200.00 fireplace insert from them, installer said it was wrong for my insert. Returned to the store minus receipt, you would have thought I stole it, They gave me a gift card for $214.49. I don't need anything at Lowe's for $200.00 I need my $214.49 back. So I went and purchased a $200 drill and returned with the receipt, they gave me another gift card. read more

Husband and I purchased a new oven for $489. We received free delivery and scheduled a day for us to both be home for the delivery. After both of us taking a vacation day from work in anticipation for delivery, they called that day telling us that they were on their way and gave us a time window with their ETA. Long story short- with a ton of tag phone calls, we waited ALL day for nothing...No oven. Not too big of a deal, worse could happen. I called Lowes the next day to see what had happened, and they informed me that the delivery guys had come to my house and tried several times to get us to answer- They ended up leaving. I explained that there was no way that they had come to our house, because we had made ourselves available for this. I was met with a, "That's just what they told me, 'mam" which was infuriating. I explained that I'd be happy to bring down our front door security tapes for that full day so that they could see that no one had come to our home. They informed me that regardless I would need to reschedule delivery, which they said would take a least another week- I don't think so. I said that we'd be there the next day in the evening to come pick it up ourselves after we could find a truck, which they said they would have it ready for us. The next day comes, and two hours before we head their way I give them a curtesy call letting them know to get it ready for us, and that we'd be there soon. She tells me that they already had pulled it off the truck from yesterday and it was ready waiting in the back for us- Awesome! I finally get my oven after eating microwave and crock pot meals for two weeks! This was when the real problems came. Not only when we arrive after letting them know, we wait for AN HOUR up front at customer service thinking someone was bringing it up for us. After a manager finally approached us pulling my husband aside to inform him that, "We don't know where it went." They LOST MY OVEN. After they told me two hours ago it was in the back ready?! Up until this point I was understanding and patient with them. Sure, they were probably running behind on deliveries and skipped our house to make time for lunch- fine. Okay, they lied to Lowe's saying that we weren't home to cover their butt's- also fine. They're not apart of Lowe's so I'm letting it go. Now though, Lowe's gave us the run around and ultimately LOST my oven and lied to us. To fix this what did they do, you ask? Nothing. They offered us the FLOOR MODEL with NO PARTIAL REMBURSMENT. We paid FULL price for a floor model! Not just that but they didn't even put it in our truck for us, just wheeled it to the front of the store in all of it's bare glory. No wrapping, no cardboard, cords a mess and untied. I'm a small gal, and my poor man was picking up a lot of the slack when I slipped on my end and dropped it trying to load it in my fathers huge truck. When I dropped it... I shattered the glass. I'll NEVER, EVER, buy from Lowe's again. We feel cheated, and there was no respect shown to us once after each of their screw ups. I'm a less understanding person now because of this experience...which I've always tried to be after being a customer service associate myself a number of years. we are redoing our kitchen and are using Lowe's for cabinets, countertops, and appliances. Well, the dishwasher had multiple dents-replaced, but delivery was awful. the countertops were ordered wrong--seam was on wrong side even though we explained where it was supposed to be. Delayed for weeks. Then when replacement countertops were delivered-they dropped it and gouged our brand new floor. Delayed even longer. very frustrated with Lowe's. really hope they correct this problem. Really think about using Lowe's for home improvement. I went to Lowe's to purchase and have installed a new garage door. I checked the website, made my comparisons, and decided on the door I wanted to go buy. When I got there I was never able to convince the "head of that department" to sell me that door. He kept double talking me as if I was an idiot, when I knew he was lying. The door he pushed me to buy cost less than the one I wanted, but the cost was not an issue. I was willing to pay the higher cost of the door I wanted. This door will be installed within a couple of weeks. From that point forward every time I open or close the door I will be reminded how I was treated. Of course, all my friends will know this story as well and will be advised not to use Lowe's for any major purchase because if a person is spending hard earned money they should be allowed to get what they want and not just a bunch of lies.
