Customer Service in garden department is terrible. If you are in your 70s and loading huge bags of soil in your cart and a sales guy walks by, this is pitiful. Then when you ask the register person if someone can load my five bags of dirt, she hesitates and says it might take awhile. customer service is getting worse every year. only good thing is II always need the exercise. read more

Horrible customer service, I wanted them to honor a manufacturer warranty within the 30 day period. Process was so confusing and frustrating I asked to exchange it instead. Got the run around from multiple employees at two different stores(I should not have to call other stores to process an exchange), got tired of the BS and demanded a full refund instead. In a hurry? Need something specific? Coming here to ask questions? DON'T! They don't have their stuff together, they will have you waiting for 30+ minutes when you need help, and they don't have the answers to your questions. They only care about the Pros. I waiting 30 minutes to get help with a piece of plywood and they kept skipping over me and helping other people. This store use to be great a few years ago, but now they have gone down hill. I guess they don't really care about the customer, they only care about the pros. The only saving grace was that some other guy was walking around and he came to help us. He apologized for us having to wait so long and was super cool about it as well. We never did see the original guy we asked for help though. I bought a chanesaw when the first storm came in to cut the trees that fell. It lasted for about 1 hour and it burned up. So I returned it and the second one did the same thing. So I took back and the management of that department would not give me a refund in fact she got into a argument with me. Have been to this Lowes numerous times including when I first arrived in Nac and I bought several big ticket items to use in my house. I soon learned that Lowes gouges and way overprices items like the attachments and accessories you buy in addition to the appliances. For example, Lowes charges almost three times what it costs online to buy a water filter for a fridge. Just bought some ceiling fan light bulbs that were $5.99 at Lowes and I noticed they were $2.99 for the exact same bulbs at walmart. The service level has gone down also. I seem to remember 3-4 years ago that Lowes had some experienced people who would approach you and ask if you need help. The last few times I've been there I walked around looking for stuff with no customer service. Kinda like walmart now. Never buy anything here unless you have done some research to compare prices. I might decide to pay more for stuff if it was for a local business but not for a huge corporation. I will look everywhere else besides Lowes for hardware next time I go shopping. read more

Headed to lufkin to get some paint after waiting 20 minutes at the paint counter. I had a cashier and a customer service representative page someone. Wanted to get shelving grad stainable pine. Finally found what I wanted, with no help what so ever from associates. As usual there is such a turn over of employees few know and or don't care where items are located in tha store. One day I was looking for something, I forget exactly, but they ran me back and forth three times. Well I was ticked off told the last associate to go away I could wander around and find it my self. Finally found what I wanted on a completely different isles. Then they hire cashiers that can't listen. Today I bought a board and had it cut in half to fit truck bed and size I needed. After 20 or more minutes a guy came and cut my board, that I had marked for him. Got to register, looking straight into the cashier's eyes I said this board has been cut in two. Well being in a hurry I checked out without paying attention. I thought $37 for one board, so I examined the tag it even read the size of the board. So now I have to go back and make this right. The shelving is installed. But I took detailed pictures, just hope I don't have to make a scene tomorrow morning. If you go shopping these days watch what the marked price against the price at the register I'm finding more and more pricing discrepancies and they are rarely in your favor. I'm sick of these merchants, business's and big corporations hiring incompetent workers. I don't need one of their untrained associates holding my hand and wander around looking for an item. Worst store ever and one of the most irritating shopping trips you could take. Employees texting on their personal phones while customers are waiting to be noticed. Purchased a fridge with delivery that did not arrive. Then my appliance purchase completely disappeared from their system. Come on now! This chain has perfected the service template for this genre. Regardless of the size of the store, I always seem to find an employee that's willing to assist me. Restrooms are generally above average. Parking ample. Loading areas can be found with cover on those days when the skies open up. Returns are hassle-free. read more

This store will drive you crazy. Went to the store this week to have blinds cuts and after waiting in the blinds section for thirty minutes (pushing that announcement button every couple of minutes) I had three employees come over to turn off the announcement and tell me it would be a few minutes. Finally someone came over that could cut blinds just to tell me that they couldn't cut that brand of blinds! An hour out of my life I'll never get back. After purchasing several items online for store pick up I arrived and the store refused to give my purchased property to me unless I gave him my credit card. I had my receipt and ID with me. My wife had taken my credit card to get to her job that day.. Hence thats why I made the online purchase. I will never buy from LOWES again. Home Depot look out. It seems that customer service continues to go down! I have been shopping at Lowes in Nacogeoches, Texas since they opened. Service has declined since the day they opened. I just had the worse experience ever spending $2,700.00 for one room of carpet. They guy that I worked with had no desire to make my purchase experience a good one. Last year, when I was getting decking boards, about 40 of the 10' length, I had 3 employees walk right past me without offering to help me load the boards on the dolly. I am 72 years old. After I loaded the boards, I had about 4 employees ask me, on my way to check out, if they could help. Of course when I checked out and went to load the boards on my trailer, I couldn't find anyone to help at all. I have to say I have had a much better experience at Lowes in Lufkin, but they have a Home Depot in Lufkin also, which makes sense that competition makes customer service more important. read more
