I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at Lowe's in McDonough, GA (101 Willow Lane) on March 25 around 1:35 PM. I went in to purchase lavender plants and waited in a long checkout line. When I got to the register, the plant I selected had been mislabeled. I worked with the cashier to resolve it and, to keep the line moving, I agreed to quickly retrieve the correct item myself. I returned within moments, waited for the current customer to finish, and stepped forward to complete what was clearly a continuation of the same transaction. At that point, I was told to go to the back of the line. I explained that I had already waited and had just been working with the cashier on this exact issue, but I was still refused and dismissed in front of other customers. The experience was embarrassing and honestly very upsetting. I reported it to store management and also through Lowe's Open Door Hotline (case #HRC9013875), but I have not received any meaningful resolution. I'm sharing this because no customer should be treated this way, especially after trying to be considerate of others in line. I hope Lowe's takes this seriously and addresses how situations like this are handled going forward. read more

We were in to buy a washing machine, opened a Lowe's credit card to do so. The gentleman that helped us was great , the person over him was rude and horrible to deal with. On our second trip we encountered a part time worker she was great. But once again was extremely rude made comments to other customers and the staff. We then had to dear with credit department on a refund. Worst experience, a friend had the same experience as we did about the same time! My wife experienced the worst service she has ever received.  She was with our 5-year-old grandson who has autism at the McDonough location and went into the store to purchase a gallon of Exterior Semi-Gloss white paint. She was the only customer at the paint counter and there was no associate present at the paint counter, so she waited 10 minutes, and no one showed up.  Sha asked 3 different people 3 different times to call someone to the paint counter to help her.  After close to 25 minutes an older white gentleman walked right by her and she asked him for help. He told her he had to press a button at the counter and proceed to help another customer who had just walked up to the counter. At this point she had been there for 30 minutes waiting for help.  The same gentleman proceeded to help several other people and never did help my wife find the paint she was looking for.  I was on the phone with her the whole time and witnessed the poor service and heinous treatment of my wife.  Eventually she found the paint on her own and then asked another older black gentleman to shake the paint for her, and he would not and handed her a sick to stir it.  That fact that this man completely ignored her plea for help with such a simple request as a gallon of exterior semi-gloss paint is absolutely ridiculous and totally unacceptable.  It is frustrating enough to walk into that store and not be able to find anyone to help you, except the returns associate or the person at the checkout.  It's this type of behavior that causes customers to shop at Home Depot.  I will be posting negative reviews on BBB, Yelp and Google. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Had receipt in hand and proceeded to return a few vegetable plants $5.98 each that I purchased 7 days ago but they died. Honestly I should have never purchased in the first place because they were pretty sad looking but I thought my green thumb would save them but that didn't happen. Meet Jorge the assistant Mgr that refused to allow the return without explanation. Told me to read sign they don't have to allow returns when clearly the sign shows I should be able to return the items. He was being a real you know what and when I asked for the Mgr he pointed to a picture. Just rude and unprofessional and the worst representation of customer svc because when I went to another Lowe's they took the plants back with no problem!! I will definitely be reporting him to corporate as well as the little cashier who perhaps received a few additional coins in her check for also being rude to someone old enough to be her mother. Lowes is a big box store that defrauds customers despite a written contract. We paid for a custom project upfront and they didn't complete it. If they say "free delivery" don't believe it. First, it isn't free...you have to pay for it then fill out some ridiculous form full of useless information, which in my opinion is their way of not paying you for the "free delivery"! My wife is the most detailed person I know. She was the executive assistant to the commissioner of health in TN, now the financial administrator of our church. She knows details. She filled the form out and mailed it in, months later we receive a letter telling us it wasn't filled out correctly. Now we have to go back and try to find the original paper work and fill out their "no pay" form. Bottom line for me. I'm very pleased with the staff professionalism as well as their knowledge in appliance. I had know idea of the measurements but with Lowe's staff help the appliances fit perfectly. Came to get a gallon of paint, a refrigerator and some cabinets. Waited 20 minutes at the paint counter just for someone to help me! Then they told me the paint I wanted to match would only be 80% match! Wtf!!!!! Luckily I had better luck in appliances. Harold was a lot of help and not only with the refrigerator but with the cabinets! He was great! Loaded our new fridge for us and the cabinets too (James helped) thanks guys! Yall really turned our crappy experience around to a better one! Now off to Home Depot to get that gallon of paint! My husband and I went to lowes yesterday to get an over the range microwave. We found the one we wanted and Asked several people to help us get. Each one paged for another person. FINALLY a lady came we told her what we wanted and she said well I'll have to go over to the other side of the store and get the lift and come back. We said ok. Then she went over to another couple and started helping them and left us standing there. You know i feel the pain of no one wants to work but when you see many people in a lowes vest talking and not doing anything it's not that they didn't have the help. The least she could have done was ask someone to come help her or go get the lift. We went to customer service to complain but there was 3 behind that desk talking and ignoring everyone. I went to this Lowes today to purchase a screw-gun. I asked the cashier if my veteran's discount applied, and she told me yes. But when it rang up, it rang up full price. She said no discount on "sale items". I put my money back in my wallet and left. It was NOT a sale item (although the discount wss gladly honored many times before, sale or not). And it was not a lot of money, 10%. Heck they give you 5% just for not paying in cash??? I was a very frequent buyer when I was working, probably $100,000 in 4 years, but this was for me personally. I liked the small thanks for serving in Viet Nam, something I am very proud of. I will NOT be shopping at this or any other Lowes in the future, they can choke on their "sale item" as far as I am concerned. read more

I'm not sure whether or not it was the late-November shorts/t-shirt combination or the fact that I haven't shaved in about a week, but I had the mispleasure of experiencing what almost borders on age discrimination tonight at this location. Arriving with intention of ordering a new kitchen suite to for my newly-purchased house, and armed with the item numbers chosen with care from the internet, the solitary sales representative in Appliances, "In Training" Bruce told me that he had to run something to the front register, but would be right back. Fast forward 24 minutes of me angrily pacing back and forth and here comes said inept employee, aide-de-camp to some mid-50-ers who can't decide whether their current stove is electrical or gas. I walked to the customer service desk and asked for assistance and a nice younger gentleman tried his best to assist me but, arriving with him back at the Appliances desk, he just directed me to Bruce, who had managed to rid himself of the clueless sexagenarians. No, thanks. Suffice to say, I am now at a loss as I was STUPID enough to sign up for a Lowes credit card through the abyssmal Synchrony Bank this morning in a petulant attempt to get 5% off so, now, I have to deal with the 5 point FICO hit for two grueling years to remind me of my decision to shop Lowes over Home Depot. This location of Lowes really deserves the nickname I gave them, "Blowes." No 'associates' WANT to help. If they are confronted with a question, they are petulant or don't have a clue. Being a worker bee, my whole life, I empathize with them. They are where the rubber meets the road. Did a bit of verbal prying with a couple of them and learned it is a Management issue. Staff reductions; flipping associates around to 'put out fires,' vs learning a department's layout and offerings; lack of training; no interdepartmental communication.... I have recently returned to this store due to finally having enough with rude people and lack of service at Home Depot which is actually closer to me. Been in here a few times in last two weeks and always able to get help and more importantly good help from associates. I do not like the tool section here.. oddly laid out and this is one place I seem to have trouble getting service. Ordered a product from store 1153 on Friday last week, billed and paid immediately. Order was supposed to be Monday, no, then Thursday, still not delivered, and now its Friday. They called me at 7am that it will be delivery and its now 5pm and still no delivery. Of course when I call always get an attitude from disrespectful people who think they are owed something, like Gwendolyn and Caleb. DO NOT USE THIS LOWES! If you can avoid it please shop at another Lowe's. I purchased a new grill , smoker, and hardtop canopy grill cover (all were suppose to be delivered). I was told the grill would be delivered next day. After 4pm the next day, I began calling about the delivery.... I was transferred to 4 different people who could not find our grill. Finally, someone found it and we had to come pick it up. It's been a week and we were finally suppose to have the hard top canopy delivered today. Lowe's takes advantage of 75 year old man! Here is a little story about my local Lowe's store #1153 in McDonough, GA taking advantage of my 75 year old father. He went in to the store to purchase 3 pallets of sod. He went over to the sod tent and saw a sign telling him to see a store associate for pallet orders, the sign also states you receive 25% off for purchases of 1-3 pallets, and the discounts get better the more you buy. My father is instructed to go to the Contractors desk to make the purchase. He goes there and explains he wants 3 pallets of sod, the associate proceeds to give him a quote for $650/ pallet and does not give him any other options. Now, the item number sold to him, is not located anywhere in the store or online. So my father says ok, the guy rings him up for 2 pallets, not the 3 he asked for, does not give the 25% discount like the sign says either. The guy then has to charge him for another pallet and again leaves off the 25% pallet discount price. My father is not internet savvy as most people his age are not, so he does not realize the same sod is listed online at $450/ pallet. I finally see his receipt and realize he has paid way too much for this stuff, I mean I can get it for $150/ pallet from my local nursery, the quality isn't as good but it does the job. Realizing what has happened I went to the local Lowe's to have a discussion and find out why my father wasn't offered the cheaper pallets, it's the same sod as the $650/pallet. No one in the store knew where the number came from that was used nor did they'd rally know how to sell me a pallet of sod. Now, I do realize my father could have said no and not made the purchase but he really didn't know any better. So I asked for them to simply honor the internet price and give me the 25% off per pallet like the sign says, even told them we would take a store credit so the store wouldn't lose sales. After a couple of conversations, some good, some with some really rude people, I was offered a 10% discount. To me this is unacceptable, first because my father was not given all of the options available to him and secondly because they won't even stand by there price match policy. It's sad to say that myself and many of my friends will no longer be shopping with Lowe's and will begin spending money in other places due to the fact that they simply won't do the right thing. read more

Ordered washer and dryer and received confirmation to pick up on Wednesday. Half the order was cancelled on Tuesday. When I called to ask why, was told it was due to not confirming the order. When I questioned why the whole order was not cancelled, was told I don't know. then was asked if I just wanted to cancel the whole order. Lowe's did not seem to care about loosing a customer. Dustin and Michael clearly stated what I just experienced yesterday. I purchased a garbage disposal at 830am during a weekday. The place was dead and empty. I got to the area where the item was located. 2 gentlemen were there and didn't even say good morning. I asked if there were any buggies available, not realizing how heavy the item was. Immediately one of the guys said "the buggies are up front". Realizing I had to walk back up front I began to look for a buggy that was free. I found one but it had cardboard in it. I didn't mind that since it looked like it wasn't anyone's property. The guy looked up and said he was using it but it was fine for me to use and he would get another one. As I began to lift the disposal, I realized how heavy it was. I dropped the box before it could get in the buggy. I could only pick it up to where it was placed under the cart. Those 2 guys didn't say a word, NOR offer to help me and looked while I was loading it and when it fell. As I began to check out I asked for help loading to my car. The cashier asked a coworker to help me. The coworker replied to the cashier "what is it"? She said a garbage disposal. He started laughing. But he loaded it for me. Honestly I wasn't surprised at the attitude of this dude, typical response coming from a employee right, lol. The only reason why I bought my item from here is because Home Depot didn't have it and I would have had to order it. Lowe's personnel at this store needs to humble themselves- maybe go without a paycheck or two to actually "get it" when it comes to customer service and the lack they provided me and many others who've commented recently about the same thing. I have been a huge supporter at the Lowes in McDonough for many years due to the fact that they offer military discounts and the contractor's desk has great people working in it. Today I stopped by to return about 70.00 worth of things I didn't not use on a deck job. We spend about 10-15,000 a month there doing roofing and deck jobs. I had the receipt but was told it was past 90 days and a new policy was put in place last year for only 90 days for return. I said I understand but we buy everything through the contractors desk and sometimes our jobs last longer than three months. The young lady that said she was the manager told me to READ the sign! Again I said I dont work here so I really don't know your store policy. Again I was told to READ the sign. I said ma'am I have the receipt and just put the money on the card or gift card. I said ma'am we spend about 10-15,000 a month here and I would hate for Lowes to not get that money and I would think that's enough for an exception. She said do what you need to do! My husband purchased a new toilet seat, came home and opened the sealed and taped box and discovered Lowe's had sold us a used and soiled toilet seat. This is maybe the worst experience I've ever had at lowes In McDonough Ga. I went to the store to look at some lawnmower they had on clearance. My first time there I asked a sales associate if he could get some body to come assist me with the lawnmower. I waited for 20 minutes no one showed up so I left. I came back an hour late and walked inside and found another associate who works in lawn and garden and asked him to help me, I asked him if they sold lawnmowor ramps he said no they didn't WHICH WAS A LIE then he said he was busy right now and ask can I help you later. I said okay but followed him outside anyways. He was helping another customer and when he got finished he came over to me. He did not know how much the lawnmower was so he went to get his manager. The manager came out and gave me the price and also said I could use my military discount. Before I left I asked if I could have that in writing and if the bag came with the lawnmower. He told me there was no need to put it in writing, and that yes the bag came with the mower. I left lowes went home to get my money and when I came back I asked for the manager by the name of Mike. He called to the front and said he was not available and would send a seasonal person to the front. I waited for another 15 to 20 minutes. Finally someone came to the front to help me I told him what I needed and what Mike told me he would do for me. Everything was fine accept he said the bag did not come with it, and also nothing additional came with it. I told him what Mike told me so he called Mike. Mike told him that pretty much I was lying and that the lawnmower was sold as is. I just left I spend over an hour at lowes was lied to twice by the manager and a sale associated for no reason. These people have no respect for customer and no integrity.I had my 3 year old daughter with me waiting in the heat with me for some help and honestly they never get any. I plan on complaining all the way up the chain to coorpriate and I will be updating my post on how they respond. P.S if I was told something but any body in this store I would get it in writing because its obvious that Mike which is a manager has a problem with integrity. Just in this store day after Christmas. Have all the holiday items gathered in the corner section as you enter the store. With signs all over saying holiday items 50% off...but its bait and switch. Most of what you take to the register isn't marked down, i actually took a manager over to show him the 50% off sign taped to the display of one of the items. He tried to point out the full price ad under the 50% sign. But that sticker has an end date of 12/24. He didn't even move the display out if the area or take of the 50% sign.
