Never use Lowes or East Coast Flooring for a carpet installation!! I should have listened to reviews and used a local flooring company instead but figured I would give Lowe's a chance as I've been a loyal customer for years. Carpet was installed incorrectly and started coming up the next day, plus they installed a cheaper padding rather than what I paid for! Gilford Lowe's and installation support has horrible customer service, and keeps sending the installer back to my house without the materials to fix the issue. It has been a month now and we had to delay our move because the carpet still isn't installed correctly. They are refusing a refund or compensation and customer service literally recommended I pursue a credit card chargeback rather than helping or getting a manager to assist. Please do yourself a favor and use any other carpet installation company!! read more

I have never had such a awful experience at gilford Lowe's as I did today, I went to buy a hot water heater for the advertised price and they would not honor the price, I showed the manager the listed price on the dis and he said they were out of stock, I asked if I could buy 2 and pick them up when they came in, he said yes for almost 300$ a piece more and then he ripped the price tag off the display and ref to honor the price, what a scam, save yourself the hassle and get it from an American store read more

I have always preferred Lowes over Home Depot and shop at this one routinely for my hardware needs. I have never had an issue with any employees and have found them to be extraordinarily helpful. The issue is when something needs to be returned. If you're ready for some abuse, and don't want to go to the DMV, this is a close second.... I recently returned a pressure treated plank that had a split in it, and shame on me for not seeing it. I waited for about 10 minutes for the associate to greet me, which is no problem. What I got was more of a growl than a greeting, however. "What do you want?" was the greeting. I can't really reproduce the tone very well in this review, but image someone barking at you and you will get the idea. I told her about an exchange with a new one and she said "Just leave it" at the other register. I handed her the receipt and said I would get the next one while she processed and was met with another bark "No! I am processing a refund". I apologized and said I thought it was just an exchange "We don't do that here" she growled back, never looking at me. The irony? When you get to the return desk there is a sign reading "We expect courtesy. We don't tolerate any verbal abuse of our employees..." The next time I go I will bring my own sign that reads "Customers expect courtesy. No verbal abuse will be tolerated...." and put it right next to theirs... Best Lowe's I have ever been to. The people in kitchen department were incredible helpful, responsive, knowledgeable, patient, and talented. Unbelievably frustrating. I ordered an Earthquake wood chipper on Wednesday 9/7 for pickup on 9/11. I went to pick it up on 9/13 and was told it was there but needed to be assembled, and that it would be ready on Tuesday 9/17. I tried calling ahead to see if it was indeed ready, but was put on hold for 23 minutes and gave up. I went to the store on Wednesday 9/18 and was told it still wasn't assembled but it would be ready on Friday 9/20, and that someone would call to verify it was ready. No call, so I tried calling today (Saturday 9/21 - 10 days after it was originally ready for pickup). I was put on hold for over 25 minute both times I called. Meanwhile I've been getting texts for the last week saying my order is ready, and each time I call the recording says "It looks like your order is ready". I give up. I want my money back. read more

I just had an amazing customer service experience. Rombo and Tommy helped me pick out a patio set and get it in my car. Tommy was so knowledgeable about...everything and Rombo was so warm and personable. Sometimes it's just nice to have a conversation with another human. One of these gentlemen was a retired engineer who had worked on the Big Dig and Deer Island projects. I loved hearing about his time on these projects. There customer doesn't even deserve one star My Trex deck was done in September -October of 2018 . It was put in with no spacing , the board are curling and coming up. I paid $11600.00 to Lowes who I believed was a reputable company . Was I wrong ! There not even willing to send professional to even look at the deck . Its been a nightmare for close to 3 years . When it rains I have a pool on my deck .I've given up talking them they've offered me $2500 for what is a $9000 repair job . I went into the Lowe's in Gilford this morning to make a couple of large purchases. After walking around the store trying to find someone to help us, I finally pushed one of the help buttons located in the grilling department. The announcement went over four times, three associates passed by me and made eye contact with me and kept walking, then someone finally turned off the alert but nobody ever came. I definitely do not recommend this location if you need assistance of any kind. read more

I just went to the Gilford Lowes this morning. I went through self checkout as there was no other register open. As I approached the kid asked me if me or my husband was a Veteran. we replied No! But Thank you for asking. He proceeded to tell us to ring in our own stuff. No big deal. When we had an item that couldn't be scanned. We hit the call button as he walked by us 3x and clearly heard me say. to my husband hit the call button for assistance maybe someone from back of the store will help us. The kid finally came over took the product and entered it into his computer. I have been soo fed up with this Lowes. I was looking for a replacement lid for my Brute trash can. They are not sold separately for customers who have lost a lid. One must buy another $29 Brute Trash Can to get a lid and then have two trashcans, one missing a lid. Sounds logical. I would have paid whatever they deemed fitting for a lid, but no, no one even tried to figure out a way to sell me one. So I went to Home Depot in Tilton and explained my conundrum and while they also sold the can and lid together, a nice employee counted the cans and lids to see if there was an extra they could then give me. At least she TRIED to get me what I needed. Then the manager said, "I'm sure we have another box of lids, go ahead and take one". All corporate has to do is enter a SKU for a separate lid. I'm not looking for freebies, just a replacement lid. What happened to customer service in some of these box stores? How can you not sell replacement lids? Life happens, you know? Small stores will do anything for your business. Big businesses don't care because they play with big numbers, not individuals. Too bad we have so few choices left when it comes to purchasing home goods. read more

Recently tried to buy an impulse item displayed in the main aisle with a prominent sale flyer indicating a $10 reduction. At checkout, the regular price came up and when I questioned it, the sales associate walked over and pulled the sale flyer and showed me the very small type at the bottom of the flyer indicating that the sale price had expired 2 or 3 days previously. So their great management seems to be too busy to police their store to make sure that they are not trying to mislead customers with false and fraudulent advertising. It would have been very easy for me to overlook being charged the higher price but for the fact that I was not buying a large number of items. And I have purchased many thousands of dollars of appliances, flooring, shades,etc. from this location over the past several years. But I have noticed that most of the sales staff with whom I had great experiences are no longer working there. That must be saying something about their "culture." A sad comedown from what once was a great place to shop. read more

Awful store. Bought washer/dryer they recommended based upon available repair people since we live in a somewhat remote area. Washer and dryer just arriving after two months. Zero communication on their part for 2 months. Didn't even know it was coming until I got a phone call late last night that they would be arriving the next day. This is a second home for us so we had to quickly drive up. Fine. I'm just happy they are finally coming. Guy arrives. No mask. In COVID-19 era, that is not OK. Asked him if he had one or needed one from me. He got one from the truck and is now wearing it around his chin, not his nose and mouth. Again, not OK. Hate this store. Never again will I buy from Lowe's. I bought a stove that I purchased the warranty for. There was an issue with the stove that I had the repairman come out to "fix" six times. Six days I had to take off of work for this. The warranty is now up and the problem is continuing. When I called Lowe's warranty number I was told basically I'm out of luck. I believe if the problem started during the warranty period and the fact that either the stove is a lemon or the repairman are not competent they should make good on the warranty that I paid for. I had new windows and a door installed at my home. The first night I got home the house was left open. The garage door was also left open and a window. It was very scary to see this and not know if someone was in my house when I walked in. The next day when it was light out I noticed my garage door had been run into. I guess that is why they left the it open. My windows look great. read more

Started a kitchen remodel was told the delivery date on the stove and timed my counters install around that. Call the day before delivery only to find out that it was going to be two weeks late....they didn't seem to be very concerned about it. This is the kind of service that stopped me from going to Home Depot 13 years ago, I guess it's time to switch from Lowe's to Home Depot and give them a shot again. read more

The store is fine...except they sell you extended service plans...but they fail to mention they do not offer service on Saturday! I own a camp near the store. The icemaker failed on the refrigerator...they came out on Saturday, checked it out. I visit the camp the next weekend and it's not working. They now tell me they do not have Saturday Appointments...I explain again that I am 2 hours away, and cannot come up during the week for a 6-hour window. I have purchased thousands of dollars of products and services from this company...I ask to speak to a supervisor, they put me on hold for over 20 minutes, and then conveniently I am disconnected. I call back today, and get another runaround...find a certified professional, and get reimbursed...this is not the kind of customer service I expect at the level of purchases I have made with this store! This store is great. I redid 3 rooms. I did walls, floors, appliances, and cabinets, and every associate was helpful and understanding of the situation. They were all knowlegable, and Wayne in flooring was the best salesman I've ever had. I have his business card and I make sure anytime anyone has flooring to do, they see him. read more

I needed to purchase enough material and fixtures to create a bathroom from the ground up. I spoke first with Wade in plumbing and he suggested I email my list to him. 24 hours later I was able to pick up the entire order which was piled on to 3 carts and already invoiced. It was as easy as handing Sarah my Lowe's credit card and I was out the door with Wade and Bob who loaded everything onto my truck. Wade, Bob, and Sarah were a pleasure to work with, they were courteous and professional and made my job so much easier. This was a 5 star experience! read more

First we came in 40 minutes before the store was going to close. We had an item to return, the woman was busy with a pickup order but this girl Ashley walked passed us about 4 times putting returns away and not once greeting us. Also almost shoved carts into my husband and still didn't say anything. A young man came by, Brandon I think, and IMMEDIATELY asked if we were being helped and proceeded to assist us in our return. We then went on and continued to shop. It was difficult to navigate where things were and not one associated asked if we needed help. The girl Ashley seemed to be following us and even went and sat at the millwork desk behind hardware where we were shopping. AGAIN not once asked if we needed help. The store had officially closed yet no associate had come to assist us. I could see about 5 other associates glaring at us as we were trying to find some items before checking out. I was waiting at the last checkout open as my husband was walking back from garden and I over heard Ashley and a red headed woman talking about if there were any customers left and I said yes and the red headed woman came around the corner and forcefully said you need to checkout but I was waiting for my husband. She just walked away. Ashley didn't say ANYTHING to us as we were checking out. She was texting on her phone next to the computer. Now this trip could have been a 15 minute stop if just ONE associate helped us navigate and just showed us one ounce of kindness and customer service. This caused a lot of associates to be late leaving their shifts and 2 disgusted customers who will not be back. We now understand why most people go to Home Depot. read more

We had a brand new kitchen remodel that ran about $30,000 all told. Huge amount for us. We started our (6 week) renovation November 1st. It's the end of March and it's still not finished. I've been looking at our old dishwasher on the deck all winter long. No one returns our calls or texts. If I do get someone on the phone they tell me whatever I want to hear and then don't follow through and don't call back. Contractor said our design could not happen when they were 1/2 way through. I found that it could be done and insisted. Presto it was doable after all. In the meantime I lost sleep. The stress level has been horrible. That is my review.
