The DeLand Lowes is GREAT!!! Besides really good prices, all the employees and managers are really nice to deal with.

A choice I regret because not only did the replacement of my gutters took an unnecessary amount of time to do, but when the soffit was removed, rodents found their way into the attic space because of the exorbitant amount of time that had passed before anythin was done. I had expressed multiple time my concern that having the attic exposed for too long would bring vermin into my home...only for any action to finally be done weeks AFTER proof of mice/rats crawling in and out of my roof through the exposed areas where he removed my soffit! I gave grace because he was goin through alot at that time, but explained my stress and had to deal with the clean up of the damage personal property the rodents chewed on to make their nests...ontop of having to deal with the mistake of Justin (owner of Phelps) tellin me to put moth balls in the attic. Trying to give this small family company another shot, I contracted to have my windows done around 2021. I requested a quote and did not complain about the price nor, considered "haggling". I trusted the price was fair and reasonable. I was told that when the windows arrived, it would be 3 months for them to be installed...which turned into 6 months...that turned into now 2years. When I asked when they were goin to be done near or after the expiration of each timeline Justin gave me, it was met with hostility and accusations of being ungrateful for not being patient enough for a job that he gave me a discount for (which was never requested) and that if I wanted the job to be done faster, I would have to pay more. During one of the times Justin had a few of his coworkers over to do SOME of the work, one of them (who was/is a drug addict) invited their girlfriend that I knew to be a drug addict and she invited herself into my house without my permission and while I was not present at my house. Because I made the statement that I do not want any of his coworkers inside my house and that he (Justin) was the only one allowed to finish the job because of concerns with having potential drug addicts (which he has hired several and knew of their habits) or past convicts inside my house, I was blocked from contacts. The current office worker, Shannon, tried to interject herself in conversations that she was told she did not need to be a part of due to the nature of these conversations (which, according to Justin, also told her to not be a part of), ended with multiple text messages from her with the use of profanity, including calling me a cunt and bitch and threatening me. After multiple attempts of contact last month to finalize this drawn out project and avoid having to go to another company. It was confirmed I was blocked and ignored and I had to pay additional money for someone else to come out and finish a paid and contracted job that Justin started 2 years ago. It's sad that people who claim to be 7th Day Adventists treat paying customers in such a manner that goes against the religious beliefs that which they loudly profess. Even more upsetting that when you hold these people accountable to their promises and actions, they attack you to protect their self-image. BBB will receive a complaint as well as this message repeated across all possible platforms to warn people of the verbal abuse and hypocrisy of this company and it's workers & owner(s)

If you want to complete your project on time, I strongly recommend that you select a different…read morecompany. We started discussion with S&W Kitchens in February/March of 2025. On June 13, 2025, we signed a contract with them. Work began July 21, 2025. They finished on May 26, 2026. The contract stated that it would take 4 months, possibly 5, to complete the project. It took them 10 months to complete. There was a total of at least 15 weeks (a week being 5 consecutive working days, i.e., Wednesday through Tuesday) where NOTHING was done at the house. Prior to beginning demolition, they required a total of 60% of the contract to be paid. At the end of demolition and rough-in, which took 4 weeks, they required a total of 84% to be paid. Then they wanted payment for the project to be substantially complete and usable prior to the installation of the glass shower walls or the master being usable. That would have been 95% of the contract. The supervising contractor stated that he would not have the shower glass installed until they were paid. I sent his boss a copy of the Florida legal requirements for being substantially complete and usable, and I also hired an attorney. When it came time for the final walkthrough and final payment, they didn't want to provide us with the Affidavit of Contractor's Final Payment, which shows if there are any subcontractors who have released their lien and those that haven't been paid and how much they are owed prior to receiving the final payment, even though we had the right to have it according to our attorney. Then, when we received the document, it was a "waiver and release of lien upon progress payment."

We hired S&W Kitchens to design and install a kitchen and bathroom in our new 900 square foot…read morecottage project. With a cost of over 100k we were very excited to work with S&W Kitchens. Well after the project started and the things promised were not, it went downhill. They measured incorrectly and the countertops did not fit. They had to cut out the finished drywall in order to fit without redoing the countertops. Now the new appliances do not fit properly. they stick out past the cabinets. The appliance installers (subcontractor) told me this was their first job, and it showed. They had to return to try to make things right. The appliances still do not fit properly. Their subcontractor plumber installed the new kitchen sink, and I had to call S&W to let them know there was water now leaking on our new cabinets. The subcontractor tile installer had to return several times to complete and fix tile issues. I had to call our own plumber because sewage and wastewater was backing up in our new shower and the toilet was overflowing. Our plumber spent several hours removing grout from the new plumbing, because he said the pipe was blocked by grout from the tile installer who installed our new shower tile. When I sent the plumber's invoice to S&W Kitchens, they refused to take any responsibility and said they were not accountable. The new shower glass wobbles and their solution is for us to pay more to try to make it work or remove the glass and pay again for new glass doors. There are a number of other things that were not done properly. I have spent a lot of my time trying to get these things corrected. Their communications is poor at best, unless they were reaching out for a check, then they call or stop by with their hand out. Their lack of accountability, supervision of their subcontractors, and overall quality of workmanship is why we would not recommend S&W Kitchens to anyone.
