This store meets a lot of my basic home improvement needs. I dont usually have a ton of projects, but I can normally find what I need here. They have competitive prices. The staff is what makes or break your experience here. I've had decent service most of the time but I've also had terrible nonexistent service as noted in other reviews. They young man with dark hair working the customer service desk was excellent. I've been to about 3 Lowe's in my career as an adult. Each time left a happy customer so when I came to this Lowe's I expected the same...and I was right....friendly associates that help you find the best possible solution to your problem... These guys are really great. I came in looking to see if I could get something to unclog my downstairs vanity sink. I tried doing it naturally by pouring a can of coke and a cup of baking soda first but that only works if your sink is mildly clogged. My sink apparently has a baby elf stuck in it because all the baking soda and coca cola did was give me lots of fizz but not much else... reminds me of those stuff that I've ordered off the late night informaterals. They always seem to work better on TV.... I was able get my plumbing problem solved by a nice associate named Mark who pointed me down the aisle for some Drano Max Clog that you just pour down the drain. (I actually was going to get some at Wal-mart earlier today but the truth was I had no idea what was what. Who knew there were so many Drano varieties?) So I did as the back of the bottle said let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Run some hot water and voila...the baby elf was removed and sent back up to North Pole...thanks Lowe's read more

i do not believeI I need to be purchasing anything from Lowe's requiring delivery service. The delivery service is totally unreliable and quite disinterested in complying with the windows of hours given to the customer. After several calls to the store and to Spirit, their third party contractor, they appeared 3 hours past the expected delivery hours. I have never experienced anything like this debacle. Lowe's needs to assess level of compliance with their contractor, or continue with their shoddy service. read more

My husband and I just bought our first home so of course we have so much that we want to do to make it us and we come here for all our renovation needs. All our fence supplies, shelving units, closet needs and most recently a bunch of succulents. My husband built me a little planter and of course I wanted to make a little garden in it. I found the plants clearance section and I hit the jackpot. I got 70-80 dollars worth of plants for 20! Elderidge was my cashier and he was so great. Everything had to be manually entered because it was marked down but he didn't seem to mind at all. So friendly and understanding. He made a joke about me rescuing these little plants and it just made me so happy. He also talked to my toddler about all the cars he was holding. In terms of being a decent place for the un-handy to buy tools and materials, I like this Lowe's. I've bought sink valves, a shower valve, a cheap snake for drains, and even a couple of light fixtures from here, and the people who work here are normally helpful and kind. It's a hardware store for low-level DIYers, so for that it would be 3-4 stars. Using their installation service, however, has been an unmitigated nightmare. We expressed our interest in-store, and we got what we thought was a schedule for the person who would install our door to come assess the situation. Nope, it was a very long-winded "project coordinator" who then took some measurements and balked at any attempt we made to get things moving. A couple of days later, an installer came and we were so happy! But then he just took more measurements and put some things into a computer system that seemed to take forever, a day, and access to our home wi-fi to put through. Then we waited some more. We paid and thought it would be set for today about an hour ago. Yesterday, when my wife and I were away from the house my wife got a call that the materials would be delivered and needed to stay inside for the next day. We are having a door replaced, and we just had our walls painted and floors re-done, so we told them there was no way we could store the materials and asked why we had not been told this was an expectation. We had assumed the installer would bring all materials with him, especially considering the man who took measurements had a trailer hooked to his truck. I imagine it could carry more than the tape measure I saw him carry. No explanations were given, but they agreed to hold it at the store and deliver today. Today, someone with no Lowe's apparel or branding on the truck dropped off the materials. When I asked questions, he made it very clear he was just making a delivery - that was it. So I waited for the installer, but about an hour after he was supposed to be here I called Lowe's service. I've been on hold for about 18 of the 20 minutes of this call trying to find out where our installer is and/or when to expect him as I had arranged my work-from-home day around the expected time for install. So if you need a quick item for a DIY job or some plants or other things you typically get from a hardware store, this Lowe's has you covered. If you need something installed, do yourself a solid and just hire a contractor on your own to eliminate about 3 levels of unnecessary nuisance. read more

I have no idea what is going on with Lowe's. In the last months, I have been in Lowe's in Athens, Lawrenceville, Norcross, Canton, GA and one in Dothan, AL. The customer service in all of them is way below standard, but the one in Canton is abysmal. AWFUL. The problem is corporate wide. It has a totally different (worse) store environment than the (Home Depot) other similar stores. It feels like the only requirements to get a job at Lowe's are a bad attitude and the ability to provide unfathomably bad customer service. I went to pick up several items (including 3 different appliances) that were pre-ordered and paid for. Two people behind the CS desk IGNORED ME FOR THE FIRST over ten minutes I was there. They looked at me multiple times standing first in line, looking expectantly, and then ignored me. After making my presence known: They had no record of my order, tried to send me to Norcross to pick it up (why would I drive to Norcross if you have no record of it???), then they "found" the order and said I was not authorized to pick it up. Well, "who, pray tell, is authorized to pick up my order?" Response: "I have no idea." They advised me to walk back to the department where I picked out the item. "Why?" Response: "You might find someone who can help you back there." "Might?" After expressing my frustration (again, I had been in multiple Lowe's many times recently), the lady at CS said, "You are frustrated with LOWE's, not with ME." Me: No, I am frustrated with you AND Lowe's. Neither one of you has allowed me to pick up the items purchased days ago. (She turned her back on me and walked away and sent another lady over to help me.) After, showing out and insisting on speaking to the manager, I got my items. I spent about 2 hours in the pathetic Canton Lowe's. (My experience at Norcross was very similar---only had to wait an hour after making someone speak to me.) One other thing, my daughter-in-law was sold $1000 gas stove/range. and was told what day to pick it up in Norcross. I go to pick it up for her on the day they agreed on. After, going through the you are not authorized to pick it up BS (my name and phone # was on the invoice to pick it up when they printed it), I was told that they have none in stock and as a matter of fact the floor model had been the last one available in North America. (I had driven 54 miles to come to this store and help my daughter in law). "Could you not have called me on this new fangled invention called the telephone and let me know??" (Blank stare, no response). FYI, the employees name who sold her this "rare" gas stove, was Wendell. They did agree to have it delivered. Delivery truck driver informs daughter in law that he is there to deliver the item. He is not "certified" to hook it up for her. I have two other stories, including an eye roll I received from a CS rep in Lawrenceville. So help me God, I will never buy anything from Lowe's again. read more

Lowe's is now taking away the checkout lanes, in favor of the self check out lanes. I absolutely REFUSE to use these self check out lanes, as they 1) take jobs away from people 2) don't give you a discount for checking out your own stuff 3) NOT customer friendly or supportive! The service today in finally locating my new dishwasher and taking delivery of it was outstanding. I ordered a refrigeraytor July 17,2020 . When it arrived it had Major damage , like it was turned on its side and a bulldozer dropped on it . For real ! sides pushed in, top bowed up , doors wouldn't close , I can go on and on . Anyway , the replacements from Lowe's (2) have been damaged and / or controls won't work properly . If freezer freezes so does the food in the refrigerator box . My home has suffered quite a bit of damage from the delivery people. The Customer service lady then took it upon herself to refund the cost of the refrigerator to my card and tell me she 's finished . This review is based on your phone system or lack thereof! When a company as big as Lowe's has a phone system that fails to work properly then you are losing business. I can promise you I will never buy another appliance here because of this issue. You can't make a change to a delivery or even speak to customer service to address an issue. This is NOT an isolated incident either. For weeks now, I call and push the correct number for a delivery or appliances. The phone rings about 4 times and then goes to a busy signal. Since Home Depot, your competition, answers their phone, I'll hop on over there and give them my business. A kitchen renovation would have been a nice bit of business for you. Visited Lowe's at Canton, Georgia to look for a Freezer. The first LOWE'S employee was in a deeeep conversation with a Female Vendor, never knew any other. Customers existed ( I walked by twice). I made my way back to the appliance area to look for the freezer. Three LOWE'S employees were into another conversation. One out of 3 saw me looking & another Customer was looking at refrigerators. NONE of the LOWE'S employees acknowledged myself or the other Customer - instead they kept right on talking. I left, have also UNSUBSCRIBED from getting only weekly Sale Ads from LOWE'S. I will BUY a Freezer at another store. I have always heard that you can't get any Customer Help at LOWE'S... Guess what they were right. read more

We bought 4 LG appliances from this location during the President's Day sale. We needed those items to be on the same receipt so that we could get the rebate. The next day, the salesperson calls to tell us, not ask if she could, but to tell us that she refunded the items, and recharged it to our card, because she forgot to add The Nest that we were supposed to get "free of charge." When she did this, she didn't give us the discounts that we had previously received on the original charge, she split up the purchases on different receipts, she rung up the wrong refrigerator, and charged us for The Nest. When I questioned them about the receipt and the rebate, one of them said, "just use the original receipt," which I later found out was erroneous information. I tried to contact the appliance department to find out about the delivery, but could not get anyone to pick up the phone. The appliance department's phone would ring without an answer, or I'd get disconnected, which lead me to believe that they have caller ID and didn't want to talk to me. I got a hold of their delivery department, and they had informed me that the refrigerator had arrived, but that he just needed to physically verify it was there, and that he would call me right back; I never got that call. When I spoke to their customer service, the girl I spoke to was not very helpful, in fact, she kind of had an attitude, like if she were the one having to deal with all of us this, so I started to get even more frustrated. I spoke to the assistant manager who set up an appointment for our refrigerator to be delivered. When I had previously spoken to the delivery department, he informed me that I would be getting a call the day prior about the delivery time. We never got that call, so we weren't sure if they were in fact coming, or not. We actually have jobs and responsibilities, so this lack of communication, uncertainty, and incompetence had me so stressed out. I finally told my husband that I was done, and that we should get a refund. He agreed, so that's what we did. Lowe's, the store itself is outstanding. It's one of their products they sell, SAMSUNG SELF-CLEAN, TOP LOADING WASHING MACHINE. We've had the product almost three years. It's NOTHING MORE than a GLORIFIED rinse machine that doesn't remove everyday stains especially on white clothing. No matter how much bleach you add to a load, the stains remain. Since I've never had this issue in the past fifty years I can only point to the minute agitators they install in washing machines today. Prior to this we had an LG front loader and I'm sorry I sold it with my last house. I think these types of washers are all similar but for us, SAMSUNG IS DEAD. read more

Spoke to the store manager's assistant (Mike) and he was also very professional and well spoken. I have been to this Lowes many times and have read some of the negative reviews, many obviously by disgruntle employees or just those sour people who have bad experiences everywhere they go. Disappointed to hear that Lowe's doesn't offer any sort of discount to nonprofit corporations. I have a business specializing in injured, non releasable birds of prey. The young man identifying himself as the manager (name tag did not reflect this) only wanted to talk to me about signing up for a credit card and the discounts I would get with that. I don't want a Lowe's credit card. He was impatient and curt and that's why I give them only 2 stars. Way to help your community and native wildlife Lowe's! Unfortunately, the help was less than useful, and difficult to find in the first place. Their selection was considerably poorer than over at Home Depot, and the customer service was nearly nonexistant. This is the worst Lowe's on the planet. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store, and I will start going to The Home Depot. This review is based on countless trips. First of all, there is a female manager that has serious daddy issues. Maybe she wasn't hugged or something, but she hates men and she has a serious attitude. (I informally complained, and several employees agreed with me) Also, there are a couple of knowledgeable people that are great. Most of the employees have no idea what they are doing. They will point you to the right direction, when you can actually find an employee, but they don't know projects. (If you are buying X, maybe you should also buy Y) Anyway, I am tired of typing. This location has a serious issue with customer service. On 2 separate occasions I called ahead to double check inventory from the online site... Both times they said they had it. I go to the store and wait around for someone to look for it..so they can then tell me they are out of stock. When speaking to 2 different mangers on the phone both were extremely rude and acting as though they were the ones being inconvenienced about this inventory issue. Also someone else commented about no one being around to help, I have also had this issue. MOST employees (inside) are nice, outside and a FEW inside are polar opposite. Stocked well, prices 3 star. Have to watch shelves/products carefully. They'll be marked one price on the shelf, but when you go to purchase it's higher. Then with the marked price discussion, it's, "oh, well someone just stacked it wrong", or I guess someone just set it down there". Check the stickers on the rack and product. Nice STORE manager!!!!!! Dept managers have a MAJOR need for power!!! A few of them are ok, most feel the customers should bow to them. One in particular is obvious he wakes up and tells the world "you're welcome" for me living here. He's "very responsive" to the female customers, and even MORE helpful to the "ladies"that work in the plant area. I won't publish his name, but just watch, it's obvious. Males needing their ego stroked can also go through the plant area, 2-3 of the "ladies" will certainly do it. Especially the short one with TIGHT/shorts up to the crack of her. ........!! Very surprised Lowes would allow it, (hazard if they flew apart) but together, with her "sweet words" and that managers kindness toward females..... If supply being available and customer service(or lack there of) IS NOT an issue for you, and you don't mind DRAMA from the staff, (because you'll hear it/see it)..... (outside....flirting, talking aloud about the customers, complaining about the customers, talking about all they've done and how hard they've worked, when you can see plants wilted or dead all over the greenhouse. It's really changed. Used to be the best one anywhere in the area (Milton, Alpharetta, Cumming, Woodstock, etc) but it's really gone down. Used to never see dying/dead plants out on the tables, but it's rare not to see it now. Inside....mostly. About each other, or what they are asked to do or have to do. And if its their break time or quitting time, they'll call about it, tell anyone around that it's their break time, if you're next in line, OR...if you're the one they are ringing up...(then it's not a bad place to shop) But again......supply is great. I have never had a problem with the Lowes store in Canton personally until I invested $14,000 on a new kitchen and $50,000 on two small bathrooms. I have a 10x10 kitchen that we started back in June 2015. The Lowes installers did not finish putting up the cabinets until the end of August (the kids were back in school). They worked a few hours and would leave for a week to return and work a few more hours. Putting in our floors later I pulled off the lower quarter rounds just to have a whole cabinet drag out...it was not screwed to the wall. It was just placed there and the quarter round and countertop was holding it in place. Our pantry door also warped sitting in the garage for such a long period of time as well. Little things like this went on until March of 2016 (almost a year). After we had our floors installed and did some work on the house, we started the bathrooms. I was concerned using Lowe's again, but after talking with the designer and the contractor, they indicated they should have no issues since there are no outside vendors to contend with, like with the kitchen cabinets. Reluctantly we paid Lowe's $50,000 in May of 2017 to start the project. Everything was ordered and we were asked to wait a month so the contractor could clear his schedule to focus on our house. So we waited the month, and they showed up three days out of the week on the first week of the job. In fact they demoed both bathrooms on a Monday and then did not start working on the bathroom again until Thursday. May of 2018 was the one year anniversary of the bathroom remodel and they still did not finish. In fact, up until that point, they would work a day or two and disappear for month or two. This went on for a year. They would then try to squeeze us in between new jobs, but would end up damaging something else in the process rushing, which meant they were continually coming back when they would get a chance. Some examples included, they had to move wiring that was not placed properly between the rafters in the basement, reset outlets they set too high off the counter, fixing a fan that was not wired completely, a leaky toilet (that leaked for two weeks before being fixed) which was over the dangling wires in the basement at the time, and cleaning the film off the tile that was not cleaned during application. Ironically, the workers were getting upset, just coming out to fix their mistakes and were damaging things even more than fixing. Attempting to clean the tile in the master bath (other bathroom was never cleaned), they tarnished the flanges and removing a sticker off one of the doors they installed, a worker took a chunk of wood out of the door. We also have a linen (textured) tile from floor to ceiling and the grout was smeared but not cleaned up when applying the non-sanded grout. In fact, they wiped down the grout and left early that day to go to another project. Needless to say, the grout is not coming up very well after months of cleaning. My wife and I have been the ones scrubbing their grout mess up for months with little results, not Lowe's. We never did hear back from the project manager, so we finally decided to hire someone else to finish the work, just to get it done and done right. I would recommend getting your own materials and just hire a contractor to do the work (you will have less hassle). We acquired the house next to us, and that is what we did this time around. I bought my own materials (not limited to Lowe's) and just hired a contractor to come and move the plumbing and then hired another contractor to install the tile. The work in the other house was done in mere weeks compared to a year with Lowe's. With the other house, which we acquired this past March 2018, we did the floors, a bathroom, painted the whole interior (including adding trim), replaced a fireplace, and replaced lighting/doors in the house. This was all completed by June 2018. We also had our roof redone on our house as well. Yet Lowe's started the bathrooms in May of 2017 and here it is in July 2018 and we have not heard from them in months, contractor or project manager alike. Lowe's did get $65,000 out of us, but they lost an additional $74,000 they could have received with our roof and siding, as well as the appliances for the other house - along with the projects mentioned above. We are also going to redo the roof and siding on the other house as well, which will be even another $35,000. Lowe's needs to stop thinking of quantity and start thinking of quality. If you are going to take on so many projects, then get more contractors for the job. Currently, if their contractor is set back, your project gets pushed in a corner while they start new projects. For large projects, I would not recommend. Lowe's acts no differently than any contractor you get on your own, but you are limited to only their merchandise. Even our tile from Lowe's was discontinued and the project is still not finalized. read more

I purchased a special order door. The door came in on time but damaged. They acted if it was no big deal, a whatever mentality. Not realizing that as a contractor I counted on them to supply quality products. They did not! I had to wait an additional 10 days for the door to be repaired. Meantime the homeowner has to wait and wait!! I am the one being called fussed at not Lowes. Upon picking up the door hoping for a ray of light with management. It was unfounded!! Lowe's had to reschedule delivery on no less than four different occasions telling us that the refrigerator came in damaged and that they would need to order a new one. This with them knowing that we were without a working refrigerator. The last time they called (today) to again tell me that the refrigerator was damaged, but they could have another to us by tomorrow, I said....just stop.. we're done. I'm coming down there to do a charge back and then go to Home Depot to buy a refrigerator, which I should have done in the first place. When I got there and told customer service that I was doing a charge back, she said.. well, did you bring the refrigerator back? No, because Lowe's was never able to deliver it in the first place... I informed the manager of my total disgust with this situation and that I would never step foot in Lowe's again, and I won't.
