I'm not sure why this store has such bad reviews. My mother and I had a great experience when we were buying floor tiles. We had a lovely man Bill come right up to help..and we found some that were on clearance that were perfect. They had exactly how many boxes we needed. The boxes were insanely heavy..8 huge porcelain pieces per box. But Bill put them in a cart for us and helped load them into our tiny car. They were so heavy that the trunk was almost dragging on the ground haha. It turned out that we bought the wrong kind and had to immediately turn back around *sigh* When we got back Bill came out and helped unload the car with us. We felt so bad, but he was so kind and didn't seem annoyed at all. We will definitely be buying the right tiles there. They have a great selection and good prices. Special shout-out to Toni at customer service for checking us out quickly and helping with the return. Thanks to Rachel for her knowledge and kindness. I ordered over $1500 from Lowe's for retainer wall & had 60 retainer wall caps scheduled for delivery today 8/1/23 . I extended wall further & had an additional 21 caps added to order. Have hired workers here waiting to finish job & just found out the delivery coordinator changed the delivery date to 8/8 when she added the additional 21 caps. Told there's nothing they can do . Asked to speak to Ashley the store Mgr . After being transferred around store back to customer service , they said at first they couldn't locate Ashely , then said she's busy. What happened to "I'll be sure to get her the message & have her call you back"?? What happened to customer service at Lowe's ? What happens when lowes drops the ball & doesn't care to even get a call back , let alone go see the importance of correcting an issue that was not made by the customer ? Not even confident the message got to Ashley the store Mgr . to address issue. read more

I have never written a review before but the customer service in this store is so bad at the service desk/checkout. i am a very patient person but this has happened to me repeatedly where I wait forever and ever and associates are just standing around and don't seem to care at all. read more

IF 0 stars were possible - that would be the number of stars from me. Today I had painters at the house, needed more paint. They told me be sure You get the same finish, same brand. I brought the paint to the counter and told them the colors I needed and they said I was free to continue my shopping. When I returned, I did not see my cans and they explained they messed up and used their premium paint and they will give it to me for the price of the other. I told them I needed the same finish, same brand as this was to be the second coat. The friendly 'knowledgeable' customer service attendant at the paint desk said as long as you are not mixing them it will look much better than the paint I originally brought to the counter. Long story short they LIED to me. Upon returning to the store to get the correct paint, they were already mixing the 3 that I originally wanted. Not only did they LIE, they knew I would be back to replace them!! How does Lowe's remain open with this kind of customer service ?? They told me - sorry for the inconvenience - I told them - it won't happen again as I will NEVER return to another Lowe's ANYWHERE. read more

Customer service is superb at this location. Their management at the customer service desk is more than I would have expected at a big box store. I've had several problems (no fault of theirs), and they've been extremely helpful in fixing them, no matter how much work it took, to make sure I was happy. No coaxing or negotiating required, and they've always been super friendly the whole time. Their prices are usually (very slightly) cheaper than Home Depot on many items, but it's really pretty comparable. In terms of ease of use, it's kind of irritating to me that they only have one entry door, and the exit door doesn't open when you approach it. First world problems, right? Heh. As a note to contractors and professionals, their Pro services (such as their volume discount) are a little better than Home Depot. They offer cheap shipping to the worksite (something like $75 for the whole order), and their bid room gives better deals the first time you put your order in. Home Depot was able to beat their bid room after I brought Lowe's quote to them, but it was a lot of hassle, and not worth the time. Still, Lowe's bid room often offers less than 10% on most items, so I've found that it's easier just to get 10% off coupons instead. They still worked with me patiently, and matched a few prices I didn't expect them to. read more

Upon visiting the Amsterdam Lowe's today, we waited 10 minutes for a salesperson to help us in hardware, after another salesperson paged the dept. head. Finally a person from another dept. asked if we needed help and he didn't know where to look. We get to the register and on 2 items, the wrong price rang up. It took an addition 10-15 minutes to finally get the hardware salesperson to verify the advertised prices. Lowe's, get your people on the floor to assist your customers and match your sale items with register scans. read more

Totaly and completely useless. 1. Placed order online for pick up and paid, received confirmation of order. 2. Twenty three plus hours passed before the eight pieces of lumber was ready for pickup. 3. Arrive at store to pick up order and purchase a gas grill, clerk then informed me the card was not accepted (kept trying to run it as a credit instead of debit which she was told). 4. After saying we bad had it with our first ever purchase at lowes a different clerk said that I could not complete purchase online and had to complete it at the store. 5. Left, went one half mile down the road to their major competitor, ordered, picked up and paid with exactly same card and was on the way home in a little under one hour. I will NEVER spend a penny at lowes. read more

Love Lowes Stores. Brought my dog in to the Amsterdam Store and was told nicely that only service dogs are allowed because of a recent incident. It's a shame that those who train their dogs well have are put in the same category as bad owners. I will keep supporting my San Diego Lowes but will go to Home Depot in New York. read more

Went to the garden center to purchase 2 metal chairs . Looking at the stack of chairs I knew if I tried getting these items down I would end up injuring myself. Looking around I saw a young girl standing at the register and a young man playing with a price marking gun. I explained nicely that I needed someone stronger and taller than myself to get the chairs down to which he replied he'd be right over. I stood and waited for 5 minutes before giving him the "ole stink eye." He then came over and got the chairs down for me. After he got them down he said " their light, you won't have any problem carrying them" and proceeded back to the register to finish playing with his sticker gun. I am nearly 60 and am physically able to carry these items, however his lack of customer service and extreme laziness really blew me away. I would hope Lowes would teach their employees to be more respectful and helpful especially to the elderly. read more

The Amsterdam Lowes is a JOKE.....went in a month ago, set up appt. to put in sliding door and several windows, a week later, guy showed up, took measurements...waited a week, went in to order product, nobody is in the Millworker Dept." to help order...they send a girl with NO CLUE..after a half hour, she finds paperwork but admits that she doesn't know what she is doing...we go back 3-4 days later, Nobody is there working in the millwork dept.,that an help...called 2-3 times before going back to order,nobody is ever working there that knows what is going on in millwork dept...finally talk to manager that cant find paperwork, they take my # and promises to call...a week goes by, no call..I finally speak to someone familiar with situation and he tells me they FORGOT to call me.....HOME DEPOT-HERE I COME!!! These people are"Ass Clowns"...could careless that I was prepared to spend thousands of dollars.......1-STAR CAUSE THERE IS NO ZERO read more

Lowe's has been a great store to deal with and never any problems with anything that needed returned, more than willing to make things right. Some people complain about things that common sense should tell you better of. The person that complained about not being able to take their dog into the store should realize that people don't want animals lifting their leg on merchandise they have to buy and besides the liability insurance costs stores money which creates higher prices so if you can't go to the store without your dog maybe you would be wiser not to have a dog. And for saying you are going to Home Depot they have the same rules and a sign posted as such. I am glad Lowe's got on board with the same rules, too bad it took someone getting bit to wake up. read more

Omg! Worst place ever! It took three people to make a gallon of paint then the price went up three time by the time I got to the checkout! Customer service stood there staring at me waiting in the paint dept and didn't even call anyone to help me until this nice old man that work there finally asked if I needed help! This place is great if you have all day! We ordered on line for in store pick-up. It took over 20 minutes for them to find and bring forward the item! We have trouble because the individual Lowe's stores seem to move their merchandise around. I know this is supposed to make the customer want to buy more, but it only serves to make me want to leave the store and go where I know the store and can get my list done and be finished shopping. read more
