History
Established in 1929.
Started by Jim and Clarice (Matson) Lowe on the same plot of land that it currently occupies, Lowe's Garden Center and Floral just celebrated its 80th year in business. The business began as a truck garden operation growing vegetables and offering "pick your own" berries. Eventually bedding plants including flowering annuals and vegetables were added to the product mix. Philip and Jennifer (Janes) Lowe took over the business in 1975 and expanded by adding a florist, a landscape nursery division and, finally a series of "Remote" greenhouse operations. The business now grows over 1.6 million plants annually in its 100,000+ square feet of growing space under plastic. Plants are wholesaled and retailed from the primary location in Minot, ND and also sold from the 16 remote locations in cities and towns around the state of North Dakota.
