I've been going to The Flower Box pretty regularly now. I mean, not like every week or anything--I don't want you thinking I'm some kind of flower expert. But enough that the staff probably recognizes me when I walk in. Which is nice, I guess. Or maybe they're just really good at pretending. Look, sometimes when I go in there, things aren't perfect. Like, maybe they don't have the exact flower I was picturing in my head. I'll be honest, half the time I don't even know the names of the flowers I'm asking for. I'll say something like, "You got those red ones? The ones that look nice?" And they'll nod like they know exactly what I mean. But if they're out, they'll swap in something similar. Same color, same... vibe, I guess. And I've never brought home a bouquet where the flowers were already dying. That's a win in my book. Flowers dying quick would be bad. You'd feel like you wasted money, and then you'd have to explain to your wife why the surprise didn't last longer than a day. The staff there, though--they're always super nice. Like, unbelievably helpful. They'll ask what the occasion is, and then we end up talking for a bit. "Anniversary?" Yeah. "How long you been married?" Oh, you know, long enough. And they'll throw in suggestions, make it look better than whatever I was imagining. I appreciate that. Because if it was up to me, it'd probably just be a bunch of flowers tied together with whatever string I found in the garage. Now, if they don't have something, they might grab it from another shop around town and mark it up a little. And that's fine. That's business. They're the ones driving around, picking the good ones, making sure it all looks right. I'm not gonna complain about that. I'd probably pick the wrong ones anyway. Or forget to water them on the way home. I've lived in this area for about 20 years now. And for a big chunk of that, The Flower Box has been my go-to for surprising my wife. Just showing up with flowers out of nowhere. She smiles every time. Brings a little love into the house. And that's really all I'm trying to do. I'm not great at the big romantic stuff--fancy dinners, trips, all that. But flowers? I can handle flowers. As long as they've got people there who know what they're doing. Sometimes I'll call ahead if I know I want something specific. Because if you just walk in last minute and expect miracles, well... things might be lacking. That's on me, though. Prior notice is key. Like with anything in life. You can't just show up to a restaurant on Valentine's Day without a reservation and act shocked when it's full. Same deal here. Anyway, if you're looking for a place that's reliable, nice people, and flowers that actually last long enough to make somebody happy--The Flower Box is solid. They've been keeping me out of trouble for two decades. Can't ask for much more than that. read more

I was OOT the day of delivery so missed it on a Saturday. They left a message I needed to pick it up Monday. Monday the flowers looked a little worse for the wear sitting in cooler 2 days. The roses had brown edges. I asked and was told " that's just the color of the roses ". Bouquet was not impressive. Monochromatic. Asymmetrical. And lasted only a few days. read more

I asked for a bouquet of yellow roses with lots of greenery to be delivered to our hotel prior to our arrival in Minot. We were celebrating our 40th anniversary that weekend. My wife was so thrilled with not only the surprise but with the beauty of the roses and the excellent arrangement. We enjoyed them all weekend and we brought them home to Manitoba and enjoyed them for the entire next week. Such wonderful service is much appreciated and we will always remember the Flower Box as making an amazing trip to Minot the best one could experience. DO NOT ORDER FLOWERS FROM THIS SHOP!!! I ordered flowers through FTD for my daughter-in law on Mother's Day and it was supposed to be a lovely spring bouquet of lilies, roses and tulips and instead she received an incredibly ugly bright orange dyed bouquet of ugly mums. Plus, at least 1/3 of the died orange flowers were broken or wilted. This was supposed to be a $75 bouquet, instead it looked like a week old bouquet from Walmart. read more

This is what you get for $139.79 (delivered) on Valentines Day. I'm actually extremely disappointed. I bought myself almost the exact same (minus so many carnations) flowers from a local department store a couple weeks ago for $20 (minus the vase) and not only were the roses so much bigger, they were just as nice, if not better. If I would have doubled the $20 department store flowers, there would be no comparison. The bouquet isn't even close to symmetric (check out back and front pictures), it's like they intended for this bouquet to be next to a wall or in a refrigerator display or something. Terrible. I heard from a reliable source that the owner goes to WALMART and buys most of their flowers to take back to her shop and jacks the prices for the customers. You are paying big bucks for WALMART flowers!!! I know with the covid-19 shortages, there are some issues with getting shipments, but you shouldn't be so greedy. read more

This florist shop has a lot of new florists working there that lack the confidence in their own ability; so the service comes off as rude when inquiring for a unique bouquet. I had two ideas from pinterest regarding the vase, which I provided, and the flowers... neither the associate I met with a week before I needed the flowers nor the florist I spoke with on the phone the next day knew how to incorporate succulents into the flowers. One call to my aunt, a florist in California, and she told me exactly how to incorporate them. I asked for a bouquet different than the normal carnations and roses... their stock was very limited and were not willing to order what I asked for; they would not even do it when I agreed to the very high stem price. Instead, I ended up with carnations and spider mums for the same cost of the peonies I wanted. I have never heard of a florist shop not being able to determine a final price of floral arrangements until pick-up. I am having a hard time figuring out how they filled a tiny vase with $50 of flowers when I was told on the phone they could not get the ranunculus nor the peonies I had asked for, when they will not be arranging the candy in the outer vase, and when I provided the vase for them to work with. I am not thrilled that the florist asked if I wanted to buy my own flowers to do it myself. This to me shows a lack of creativity and a severe shortage of critical thinking skills. None of what I asked for was impossible; all had been done by other florists. I know this is Minot, North Dakota but showing no desire to keep up with the latest bouquet trends is not acceptable in the digital age with access to the internet. The staff I spoke to, all except one of the younger females, showed poor customer service skills; one actually asked if I wanted to make the bouquet myself and just order the flowers!! The location is great, and my first experience here ordering mistletoe in December was ok. But this last experience was lack-luster and frustrating. There is a reason I chose a flower shop vs Wal-mart--- I wanted something more than the carnations and roses; I wanted to support a local business here in Minot. I sent a letter to the owner regarding my experience and she would like to talk to me about recommendations for improvement; this is a step in the right direction! Darn two thumbs down. I gave this flower shop a second chance today because its close to a hospital that loved ones have been at. The first time I ordered an arrangement for $50 they delivered it for a small extra fee. When I received a picture of the arrangement that the receiver texted me, it was waay smaller than I imagined. The damage was done so I let that one go. Well, today I ordered an arrangement for $50 again since my last incident was two yrs ago. My mistake! I picked it up and it was smaller than I expected again. I didn't have time to argue and complain so I just bit the dust on this again and opted out to give a review and take my business elsewhere. I ordered 5 arrangements for my Father-in-law's viewing and funeral service on a Friday afternoon. The woman was very patient and helpful with my requests (patriotic arrangements for his military honors). They made all of the arrangements and had them sent to Thomas funeral home before the private viewing on Saturday. We had several compliments with the arrangements and how they coordinated with his flag-draped casket. The store is pricey, 3 dozen roses was $188, but we are pleased with the outcome. Overall, total was a little over $780 for the 5 arrangements. read more

I got a sad looking, poorly arranged bouqet of a dozen red roses with paper stapled to the bow by mistake. Two of the roses were taller than the rest, the outer petals were dry, and the greenery was unbalanced. The name on the card was wrong so I did not know who they were from. After returning them to the Flower Box, I got a call suggesting I should have been happy with them. I would have expected an apology. No, they made getting a dozen expensive red roses even less fun by being rude to me. I returned them to the Flower Box in the hope that the next person would actually enjoy getting flowers from them. Instead, they showed how little they think of delivering pleasing arrangements by not acknowledging how ugly they were. Go to Flower Central next time if you are buying flowers for me. read more

My husband is in Korea, and Im here in Minot ND. He sent me flowers and Flower Box delievered it. I was happy when I recieved it. What women isn't when she recieves flowers? BUT, when I actually looked at it, it was HORRIBLE. The roses were DEAD, the teddy bear that came along with it was WET. 1 of the 2 ballons was not full of helium. The bouquet was DEFINATELY NOT FRESH. I would not reccomend this shop to anyone. He also spent $100.00 dollars on this. I was upset. read more

This is absolutely the worst flower shop in Minot! My husband ordered valentines Day flowers the day before Valentines and not only did I not get my flowers they called me at 10 pm to tell me I have a delivery! Ya 10 pm, occassion and mood so over it! They finally sent my flowers the next day and it was not even close to the beautiful tulips that were supposed to be delivered, there were 4 sad looking pink roses and a bunch of crap fillers! I absoloutyly love this floral shop!! They are incredible. A couple days prior to Valentines Day my husband had gone in and had spoke to one of the male designers named Scott and had made plans to have something very unique, and tropical made so that I would get a little pick me up from the winter blues. On valentines day I went in to pick up my arrangment right around 7:45 pm (which I was amazed they had stayed open that late seeing as how they usually close at 6 pm) and one of the associates brought out my arrangment. And oh my goodness. It was INCREDIBLE! I had never seen anything like it. It consisted of hot pink anthurium, purple orchids, tropical greenery, and a fuzy pink flower called a protea. WOW, WOW, WOW! I really cannot say enough. Thank you SO much Scott and the rest of the Flower Box. You guys rock. And I can assure you I will be in as soon as I get paid this week to get another intricate arrangment made. Im super excited! read more

I ordered a "Spring Bouquet" for Mother's Day paying nearly $90 with a hefty delivery fee and the woman whom I spoke assured me that they would deliver a wonderful arrangement with literally excitement in her voice. I requested delivery on Saturday as I knew that they don't deliver on Sundays. I heard from my Mother later that same day saying it was already delivered and that all they did was put literally 3 flowers in ththe middle of a bunch of random green things and called it an arrangement!!! Since then the three flowers died (within 2 days)!!! This is really pathetic service and even borders on fraud. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!! If I could I would give them 0 stars!!!! I can't stress it enough. Even my Mother subsequently told me that the owners changed or something and that everyone has had a bad experience when they use them. She even told me that one of her friends ordered flowers for a funeral and they were never delivered but they were charged. Look elsewhere, my suggestion is to use Artistic Ambiance which has been delivering excellent arrangements for reasonable prices and delivering them on the requested day. Imagine that!!!! read more
