Flower Box - Sunflowers and red roses modern design

Flower Box

I've been going to The Flower Box pretty regularly now. I mean, not like every week or anything--I…read moredon't want you thinking I'm some kind of flower expert. But enough that the staff probably recognizes me when I walk in. Which is nice, I guess. Or maybe they're just really good at pretending. Look, sometimes when I go in there, things aren't perfect. Like, maybe they don't have the exact flower I was picturing in my head. I'll be honest, half the time I don't even know the names of the flowers I'm asking for. I'll say something like, "You got those red ones? The ones that look nice?" And they'll nod like they know exactly what I mean. But if they're out, they'll swap in something similar. Same color, same... vibe, I guess. And I've never brought home a bouquet where the flowers were already dying. That's a win in my book. Flowers dying quick would be bad. You'd feel like you wasted money, and then you'd have to explain to your wife why the surprise didn't last longer than a day. The staff there, though--they're always super nice. Like, unbelievably helpful. They'll ask what the occasion is, and then we end up talking for a bit. "Anniversary?" Yeah. "How long you been married?" Oh, you know, long enough. And they'll throw in suggestions, make it look better than whatever I was imagining. I appreciate that. Because if it was up to me, it'd probably just be a bunch of flowers tied together with whatever string I found in the garage. Now, if they don't have something, they might grab it from another shop around town and mark it up a little. And that's fine. That's business. They're the ones driving around, picking the good ones, making sure it all looks right. I'm not gonna complain about that. I'd probably pick the wrong ones anyway. Or forget to water them on the way home. I've lived in this area for about 20 years now. And for a big chunk of that, The Flower Box has been my go-to for surprising my wife. Just showing up with flowers out of nowhere. She smiles every time. Brings a little love into the house. And that's really all I'm trying to do. I'm not great at the big romantic stuff--fancy dinners, trips, all that. But flowers? I can handle flowers. As long as they've got people there who know what they're doing. Sometimes I'll call ahead if I know I want something specific. Because if you just walk in last minute and expect miracles, well... things might be lacking. That's on me, though. Prior notice is key. Like with anything in life. You can't just show up to a restaurant on Valentine's Day without a reservation and act shocked when it's full. Same deal here. Anyway, if you're looking for a place that's reliable, nice people, and flowers that actually last long enough to make somebody happy--The Flower Box is solid. They've been keeping me out of trouble for two decades. Can't ask for much more than that.

I was OOT the day of delivery so missed it on a Saturday. They left a message I needed to pick it…read moreup Monday. Monday the flowers looked a little worse for the wear sitting in cooler 2 days. The roses had brown edges. I asked and was told " that's just the color of the roses ". Bouquet was not impressive. Monochromatic. Asymmetrical. And lasted only a few days.

Great customer service. Every time going there I am greeted and helped. I am so glad they came to…read moreMinot. Compare that to Menards where it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack to get any one that will help you. Besides, Menards stuck it to us during the oil boom and the flood that we had in 2011. They jacked up their prices over 20% higher than any of the other stores in North Dakota at a time when we really needed building supplies. They had rude people that could care less about you. Home Depot has by far the friendliest people willing to help you find what you need. Great job Home Depot!

I needed a new stove so went in to take a look at what was offered in store. Wound up purchasing a…read morenew LG stove and Samsung compact microwave. We decided to get a Home Depot credit card because of the zero interest for 18 months. Asked the salesman if there was an annual fee which he had to seek help for that answer. The items are not on hand so they had to be ordered which wasn't a big deal as it was only about a week out. What was a surprise was the fact they wanted to charge $39 for delivery because they don't ship or recommend shipping to the store. Once the item has been delivered there is a strict 48 return window that starts as soon as your item leaves the delivery truck. He did wave the delivery fee because he told us the delivery was free which it wasn't when all the information was entered into his system. The delivery side of things went as so. A text is sent a couple days before so you have an idea when to expect your items. The first delivery time was 830am to 1230pm. A little after 7am on delivery day the new text said 745am to 845am. Opened the link and we were the next stop. They showed up around 910am. There was zero communication from the drivers so I had to rely on the website tracking. I asked them to delivery the stove and microwave to the alley out back which they did. They didn't stay around for the unboxing for me to inspect the items which also left me to dispose of all packaging materials. The Home Depot offers a military discount but it wasn't available on major appliances. So next time I need to make a purchase I will have to really think about buying at Home Depot. Between the narrow 48 timeline for returns if the item is defective, the delivery fee, and not taking the package materials with I will look at supporting a local business instead of the big box store. The prices looked to be the same as the local stores so there was no advantages using Home Depot over a local business.
