The office is warm and comfortable with a definite holistic feel, which I appreciated. I tend to get anxious during medical appointments, but I was comfortable the entire time. Nothing felt rushed, and she really listened to my questions/concerns and provided helpful feedback and resources. Also, she is super eco-friendly and I love it! I had a very intense and fast labor and they were with me every step of the way. My first birth experience was very long and horrible in a hospital setting. Throughout my journey I appreciated their patient education, empowerment, and support so I could make informed decisions about my care. I like that my prenatal visits were longer than I could expect with an ob and that they provided a binder for me to bring with assigned homework each visit. Rather than having a "birth plan" (because they usually don't go as planned anyway) we were encouraged to think about our hopes and dreams. Everyone I've met here from the nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, lactation consultants, the clinical director, etc. have all been wonderful to me and if I could do it all over again I would have become a patient here sooner. I had many questions along the way so I'm going to be detailed here so others may know what to expect. Before you can become a patient here you have to attend a seminar to learn more about their midwifery model of care, the differences between a birth in their suites vs. at Bryn Mawr Hospital nearby (you can plan to deliver there or there may be reasons you are transferred there the day of, the nurse midwife on call has the clearance to deliver there), postpartum care, and next steps to become a patient. After attending the seminar, I had to sign a medical release forms to have my records transferred from my previous provider before I could schedule any appointments. They have two locations (Bryn Mawr and South Philly) and prenatal visits could be with the same provider or different providers. The first prenatal visit is longer and billed separately while the rest of the appointments are billed to insurance together under their global plan after delivery (not after each appointment). During my regular prenatal visits they measured my fundal height and would feel my bump for the baby's position while estimating weight (they were pretty good at that)! I had to pay for lab tests and non-stress tests separately. While I had to do my formal ultrasounds elsewhere, they had the equipment to do informal ultrasounds just to check on the health of the baby and seemed to be training their staff to do these more. I was required to schedule several classes to prepare for childbirth (series of 4 classes), about lactation essentials, and about navigating your first days at home after birth. The instructors really encourage asking questions and participation, so it was helpful to have this intimate space for that. The dates and cost of these classes are available on their site but you can't schedule them until you're confirmed as a patient. After your delivery they will follow up with you (home visit if you delivered at the birth center or phone call if you delivered at the hospital). There will be a 6-weeks postpartum visit to examine you and make sure your body is recovering but also to check on your mental health (so necessary and important)! They also have weekly lactation support and new parent support groups that were happening on Zoom, I think they are also now offering in-person options too. I could tell from the session I went to that the other families really found this space helpful and were wanting to offer encouragement to newer parents like me while sharing about their knowledge/experience. Cara, one of the lactation consultants, facilitates the virtual groups and is amazing! I hope all this information helps anyone who is considering becoming a Lifecycle patient because the last thing a pregnant woman should have to worry about is the quality of care she is receiving.

Practicing for over 20 years in NJ, Dr. Chao is a University of Penn doctor board certified as an OB/GYN. She is consistently honest, caring, open, and approachable. She knows her audience, taking the time to get to know you and will listen to your concerns, offer options, discuss your care and answer your questions patiently. While I haven't had any major problems, she has dealt with my yearly examinations with consistently meticulous service, and as a primary care physician, has helped out with prescriptions I have needed and dealt with infections, problems with protein in my urine and a scary "i might be pregnant" episode in which I had a momentary lapse of reason, swallowing too many BCP at once, patiently reminding me that's a bad idea and why, and having me in for a real pregnancy test so that i could be "really really" sure i wasn't going to have triplets. I will admit to one down side: she's incredibly busy so her schedules are often tight. Wait....two: she's incredibly hard to get on the phone unless it's an emergency. Pinelands OB/GYN has a "soup nazi" front desk staff and nursing staff with the special nack for keeping all non-emergent questions in que. But the up side of this is that when you do leave a message requesting a call back, it's usually her if you have medical questions, and they can refill your prescriptions within 24 hours. I give her 5 stars for integrity, professionalism and knowing her stuff about more than just her major field of study/residency.

Dr. Jiang is the great-EST, but everyone is fantastic. I am currently pregnant with my first and I couldn't have survived (mentally!) without this practice and their wonderful staff. They are truly caring, patient and kind indivduals, from the nurses to the receptionists and schedulers and doctors. They are easy to get appointments with and there is someone in the practice with knowledge in everything and anything you need. I never feel stupid asking questions and they are very responsive with lab test results. My only complaint would be that when you call -you won't speak with anyone. You can leave a VM on the nurse line or on the schedule line, but you leave a message and someone calls you back. Sometimes in hours, othertimes it can be a day and I have sometimes had to call again and leave a second message. I will say their after hours line and care is AMAZING. I had to call one Sunday morning and I spoke to a live person and had a call back from the on call doc in less than 15 mins. If you are looking for a quality OBGYN in the NE Suburbs, i highly recommend them.

I have been with this practice for 13 years, and am leaving. This is not because of one thing, it…read moreis because of several small things. They used to care about their patients. I delivered my high risk babies with the doctors and NPs who USED to work here, and no longer work here. They caught my postpartum depression on a form I filled out when I didn't notice it and ran after me in the parking lot to make sure I didn't leave before they talked to me about it. They knew my kids, my mother, grandmother, and cared about me. Fast forward 10 years to 2022, the practice is now managed by Axia and they call me excitedly a week before my annual too schedule my mammogram in their office because "they can do it conveniently in the office now on the same day!" Oh, and it is covered by my insurance too! Not true, I get a surprise bill for more than $500 for something that I have never had to pay for before. But when I question it, it is not their problem. I tried to fight the payment, but eventually give in and pay the bill through their collection company, Apex...or so I thought. Slowly, over the years, all of the doctors I knew there, except one NP, left. A few months ago, when I brought up some symptoms of peri menopause during my annual visit, I was handed a 20 page pack of photocopies of herbal supplements without a single explanation, sent for blood tests, never given a follow up call or appointment, and sent a bill. I was left to fend for myself without any directions, help or instructions. The only thing I was given was a bill for a $20 copay. Shame on me for bringing up a problem during an annual visit. Not that the problem was actually addressed. So, I have decided to leave the practice for one that treats me like my health actually matters and not like I am just some billable patient number. And when I tell this to the nurse at my most recent final visit to remove my IUD, all of a sudden I have a complication with the IUD removal requiring a complicated procedure, and now the billing department cares about an unpaid mammogram bill from 3 years ago (which I believe I paid). They tried to settled it with my insurance and they said that the claim is too old now to process it, but had they tried to process it back then with an appeal, it may have been paid. They even said, "but you received a payment from your insurance for out of network coverage." That payment was $71. Three days before my scheduled procedure, they come to me to pay the bill, THREATENING that my now complicated procedure will not happen unless I pay the balance, which I believe that I have paid. I found the proof of payment in my email, call their collection company, only to find out that their system bills for 2 different practices, and that the payment I thought I made back then, was applied to a different practice, and all this time, they haven't tried to collect on this bill. I run a business, and I understand how A/R and collections can be the worst part of maintaining a healthy bottom line. But every part of this situation was handled improperly. Not once during this process was I seen or treated like a human. Could I pay this bill? Absolutely. Should I have ever had to? No. Mammograms are a covered test. I should have never been told to have it at their location and that it would be covered by my insurance. They should have made sure of that before making such a claim and they should have stood by their claim when I received a bill in error. Their billing department should have filed an appeal to my insurance in a timely manner to make sure that it was properly covered. When I came for my annual visit and asked a question about symptoms I was having, I should have been given the time of day, not a stack of photocopies. I should have received a followup call after my blood test results came in. At the very least, I should have been given REAL advice and HELP. All of this is enough to give the practice a 1 star review. What I find most distasteful is how they are using a necessary procedure as means to collect on a bill I should never had had to pay in the first place. Now I am seeking a second opinion on whether I actually need this procedure at all, or if it is just their way of trying to milk additional charges out of me before I go. What a terrible way to feel about someone you are supposed to be able to trust, and a practice I trusted for so long.

Do not entrust your health to this practice. The physicians are very inexperienced with mediocre…read moreclinical skills and judgement. I was told I needed to get an IUD removed that I'd had for over 10 years, and that I should get an ultrasound to make sure I still had it, which I did. I then made an appointment to get the IUD removed. When I arrived for the appointment, the doctor told me, "you know, you really don't need to get the IUD taken out." WHAT? Then why did I get the ultrasound and what was I doing there that day? They had wasted my time and money and displayed bizarre clinical judgement. That same physician is now their HRT expert, even though she has no certification to back up her expertise. But she is not an anomally--I have seen other physicians there and they all have poor judgement and have been trained to maximize company profits. On a recent well visit with a different doctor, the doctor asked, "how are you doing?" I honestly answered that I thought I might be getting a yeast infection. "Do you want me to check that?" She asked. sure, I said. Had I not been at the doctor, I would have waited a week or two and then purchased a $20 OTC treatment if I still felt something was wrong, but as long as she was offering it seemed to make sense. What the doctor did not tell me was that checking to see if I had an infection was beyond the scope of a well visit, and that she would be charging me for a separate problem visit requiring a $50 copay at the same time I was getting my well free well visit, and that the tests for checking on this nonexistent yeast infection cost $500! This is both unscrupulous and unethical, but standard practice for Cherry Hill OB/Gyn. I have since switched to another practice.
