Always get my frozen drinks from here when visiting the beach. They pair perfectly with a hot day. They aren't strong imo but they taste damn good and help to cool you down! read more

This spot is mint - draft beers, great choices of foods, and the ambiance is still beachy. To top it off, they had live music (albeit off key and too loud, still fun). read more

There's no better place than to end the summer than at the beach. Listening to kids yelling as they jump into the waves, jets rounding out from JFK overhead, seagulls having brawls over the garbage cans, the crash of the surf, smelling the salt air and ...music. Beach 97 has this great bar and food stand area. All summer they've had bands outside on Saturday evenings so you can grab some food and vibe on the boardwalk or nearby on the beach. The food is pretty great. I would recommend the burger stand (burgers are small though) and the Columbian food stand (empanadas and apple soda for the win). Surf rock, 70s rock and Dead cover bands, lots of incense abounds, and everyone is having a good time. The crowd is diverse, all ages and types of people, which is nice to be around. Check the ferry times back. read more

Great hang out place during sunset after a long day at the beach, nothing fancy but nice domestic beers on draft, you can also grab some good burgers at the adjacent kiosks. What makes this place stand out is the chill vibe, and some great Oldiies mellow DJ spinning music , while you wonder at the Ocean horizon. read more

This place is seasonal. I am pretty sure they close shortly after Labor Day and resume back shortly before Memorial Day weekend. It's May 27,2019- it's open again! Hurry and get some food and drinks before the rush hr of hungryness shows up read more

beers as cheap as 5.00. located directly on the boardwalk, its an open concept bar. cash only. connected to other food vendors. they have chairs and benches for people to sit on, and it seems like people perform and bands play here often. nice clean area, and fairly easy to find. read more

They must use very cheap meat. My burger had a bunch of huge fat balls in it. I only ate a few bites. Gross. The place looks filthy. In the midst of Covid, you would think that tables would be wiped down better, especially with all the flies everywhere. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Great place to grab a drink at lovely Rockaway Beach! Located around the 97th st portion of the beach. Their micheladas are fantastic. Made with Modelo Especial, I always start with a couple of those when I visit Rockaway. They also have $4 Lionshead or 4 for $10 (cans). Bartenders are nice and friendly. I would highly recommend stopping by! read more

Am I on vacation? The Rockaways make me feel like I'm on vacation. The selling point here is that it's a pavilion on the boardwalk with plenty of seating. Yes, unlike Coney Island, there's actually seating here. The DJ had awfully awkward transitions, but there was a dude dancing in rollerskates that made up for it. Dancing With the Stars-esque moves. On rollerskates. read more

Low Tide Bar is a tiny booth on the boardwalk at 98 street. This is the only place on the boardwalk to get alcohol but the prices are pretty decent considering the lack of competition. They only serve beer $4 - $6, wine $8 & sangria $9. There is plenty of seating and in the evenings they have music (a live band on the day I was there) which makes for a nice place to chill after a day on the beach. The downside: I wish they served hard liquor. They could use more servers when the beach closes at 6pm because the line gets really long. Always the longest line of any of the vendors. read more

This is where it's at when you need a break from the sun and sand. Have a cool drink and enjoy a refreshing breeze while having the entire beach in sight in front of you. Prices are great. Doesn't get much better than this. Low Tide Bar makes Rockaway Beach great. read more

This review is extremely limited in that it is based on how extremely tasty the quesadilla suiza "The Work" was. The wait was very long, 40 minutes for a quesadilla, but there were a lot of people in line. My friend and I were half full from lunch and only wanted a snack, so we shared the ginormous suiza that was cooked to perfection with golden crust and melted gooey monterey jack cheese, loaded with avocado and pica de gallo. I. Loved. It! The bar has nice benches (I love community tables) and a steady stream of cool reggae music being played over the air. read more

Dope, right on the boardwalk/beach, live DJ's, great selection of food, and cold beer. Can I move in?

This place is awesome. Great music, great vibe, right on the beach, everyone is really friendly and laid back. There are a bunch of great food stands here too, and different bands and DJs every night. I suggest going to Peaches and getting a coconut! read more

We ended up really by chance as we were waking in the board walk and it was a very pleasant surprise ! The place is tiny but has a really nice bar inside that opens on the outside tables right in front of the beach sidewalk. Very laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was very good especially the French fries :) Will definitely be back and definitely recommend it for a quick "mid beach day break" if you're in Rockaway ! read more

The beverages here are usually warm and way over priced. It's a bad atmosphere, obnoxious music blasting and filthy picnic tables eat/drink on. Avoid this place and go somewhere locally owned that's open year round. read more

Here is where they sell beer to go with the yummy noshes for sale at the Rockaway Beach food court. As a seller of beverages they're not great -- the frozen drinks are low-octane, stick with beer. However, they provide the fuel for a fun beach party taking place outside, where beach-goers of all walks of life congregate and converse at picnic benches. Over $4 Budweisers, I talked to an older African-American lady about her short first marriage that led her to move to North Dakota and a doll of a Peruvian girl about men and giant turquoise platform shoes. Good times! read more

They have beer, and are on the boardwalk, but this food court setting is a bit over-the-top compared to the lower-key scene down the beach at Rippers. read more

Prices and selection are meh, but nothing beats drinking a beer outside, facing the ocean, reading a book, and watching some dumb beach hipsters make fools of themselves. Drink up! read more

By "bar" the name refers to a counter in a beach cabana thing that it shares with Motorboat and the Big Banana, plus a lobster roll purveyor and a taco vendor. BUT I love it. I love it! I had a cup of Montepulciano (because I AM fancy, yes), which was like a double sized pour, and which I took to one of the benches under the outdoor canopy. From there, I could watch the ocean, the puppies, the dancing people (oh so many beautiful, wonderful, happy dancing people), and just feel completely relaxed and blissful. read more

Great location on the boardwalk with excellent bands, beers and food. Outdoor seating.

It's Rockaway Beach. On the boardwalk. Decent prices, convenient and great for a post-sun cup of wine, or pre/during sunbathing beers. No hard liquor sold here, but beer and wine will do. read more

Saturday, 9pm. Place is busy! The whole atmosphere on the Beach 96 feels like a full time vacation, Rockaways become better every year! Regardless the long line bartender was serving people cutting the line (and she saw that) which I think is unethical. and the second thing is their SANGRIA. I mean wtf who decided to call it a sangria?!! It tastes like yuppi mixed with cheapest alcohol and they charge $8 for that! I will certainly come again for good vibes and music and atmosphere. Byob however read more

Great spot to get cold beers after a day at the beach. Much more mellow scene than up the boardwalk at Rippers hipster disco dance spot. Although, they do have music here. Unfortunately when I was there, a girl who rode the boardwalk all day on her three wheeler bike selling " Fresh Fruit on a Stick," moonlighted as a DJ after her day shift selling much less than fresh fruit. She was a real professional, making out with her girlfriend while she played nothing but female rap artists. No variety. DJ Fruit on a Stick wouldn't take requests and was actually rude when asked. Low Tide rocks. DJ Fruit on a Stick was probably the worst DJ I have ever heard. I actually bought a Fruit on a stick from this sad fruit peddler. It was horrible. Uneatable. Garbage. read more

Fun place to hang out when you're at Rockaway Beach. I tried the pineapple cider they were serving, which was pretty good. Live music outside of the stand and a decent variety of eats nearby. Prices aren't the best in the world, but they're not as horrendous as some reviewers made it out to seem. Worth a visit if you happen to be at this beach and are thirsty for something punchier than water. read more

delicious!! loved hanging out here before covid & I still love it during covid! perfect place to hang out during your beach day :)

The food is delicious especially UMA'S chicken shiskkebabs. The sangria was delicious and the music wonderful especially "Wine with Sue".

Great place to watch music, not sure about the food!

You can't go wrong with a bar on the beach. Choices of beer, wine, Shandy and twisted teas. I wouldn't recommend the Sangria. One time a bartender was really rude to me, but I won't hold it against the place! Great DJs and bands that you can dance to during the season. read more
