I was a walk in, and there was one other person having work done when I dropped in. The shop is clean and well organized; there is heavy metal playing over the speakers and the walls are packed full of art... presumably from the artists, but nonetheless is pretty cool. I was greeted and helped by Styx who ended up being my piercer. She gave me a rundown of pricing and my jewelry options ($50 for what I chose plus the $50 piercing fee), and spent a few minutes in the back getting the space ready. Once she called me back, the whole process was only a few minutes, but she explained every step she was taking as she was taking it, and had a relaxed tone the whole time. She was very sweet and gentle, and it was very apparent that she took sterility seriously. The last piercing I had was crudely done in a bathroom by a friend right after high school, so this was certainly a much better (and safer) experience for me. I'm in the market for more tattoos but haven't decided on a piece quite yet, though Stay Local may end up being where I book an appointment next!

My first tattoo was quoted at 650 dollars and as a heavily tattooed person I expected it to take one to two sessions. It ended up taking four sessions and over a thousand dollars. One of the sessions was never even booked so when I arrived for the third session my artist had no idea it was even happening. I gave the shop another chance for a simple line design, but the appointment started at 11 and when the artist showed up at the same time as me, we didn't start tattooing till 1.5 hours in and I left with only one boob done. I've now spent multiple days driving 5 hours total to this shop, waiting, healing, and now my tattoo that should have been done today is going to take three sessions total. The artist is personable, and I really like him and he's the only reason I was ever going to come back after the first situation but professionalism and respect for clients' time have been major issues and staff clearly could care less about peoples time or money. I personally wouldn't go here but if you feel so inclined id get the cost in writing and make sure that if the artist is slower that they don't charge you for that.

I just recently moved to Colorado from LA and had been searching for a great tattoo joint when I happened to stumble onto Low Creek. While all the artists offer stunning work, Garrett has been my favorite; he has amazing line work and absolutely incredible color choices as well as a nice variety of designs and subjects in his portfolio. I currently have two pieces from him, one he drew on his own that I chose to get and one he designed specifically for me and both are gorgeous. I highly recommend checking out his Instagram or his page on the site to see his work and see his talent for yourself. The shop itself has a lovely atmosphere, it's clean and precise, and everyone there is cool and friendly. I can't recommend this place enough, specifically Garrett, but they're all fantastic artists. read more

Toni the owner took money for a tattoo and delivered no work. He refuses to refund money taken for a birthday present. I was referred to Low Creek Tattoo by a friend, this was potentially 4 tattoos for his business. The day before my sons 18th birthday Toni and I exchanged texts about the time of my sons appointment. I was told Noon. On my sons birthday Toni said it was at 10am. My son and I drove to his shop got there at 11am however now Toni was to busy to do my sons tattoo. We took our business elsewhere. I asked Toni for a refund since he did not provide a service however he will not. Toni the customer is always right! You failed to provide a service and should provide a refund! this place is awesome! By far the best shop I've walked into and while doing my research to see where, and who to trust I went into what felt like hundreds lol. Matty did my tattoo and it's absolutely perfect he is a true artist and extremely talented, I myself am pretty "germaphobic" as I work in the healthcare field, I was pretty observant of how he handled his utensils and I have to say I was very impressed i won't go into details but his cleanliness was spot on. everyone in the studio was extremely nice and helpful the atmosphere is very comfortable, they even let me pick the music we listened to while I was getting my tattoo I'm a customer for life! I was looking for a place to take my husband for a tattoo for his birthday. Which of course meant I was getting 1 as well. After doing several searches I came across Low Creek. They had great reviews and loved all the previous work that was posted. I worked directly with Tony and he was amazing. Ended up giving him several ideas for both myself and my husband and came back with great ideas for tattoos. The shop is super clean, everyone was very friendly, prices are super reasonable, and it was an all around great experience. I would recommend this place to everyone and I'm even thinking of what I want as my next tattoo so I can go back. read more

I stopped by the shop for the first time last week, and was impressed to say the least! Warm, friendly environment, awesome art all over the walls and most importantly, VERY CLEAN. I came in for a shin piece, tattooed by Garrett, and came away satisfied completely! The color and the line work done surpassed all of my expectations. The other tattooist, Matty, was super friendly, and seemed equally as passionate with the couple getting tattooed next to me. I found this shop online and inquired with them about getting work done. I started working with Tony on a sleeve about two months ago and I really can't say How great of an experience it has been! In such a short amount of time, my sleeves almost complete!! I attempted to get a tattoo at Low Creek a week ago, and was treated like absolute dirt by the artist I attempted to work with: Garrett Sutton. He tried to charge me between 300 and 400 dollars for a tattoo that I ended up getting at a different shop for 150, AND he refused to draw up the image I asked for. Instead he got angry when I rejected the absurdly bad drawing he offered at the last minute. This is when I terminated my dealings with this shop for good. I recommend NO ONE go there. read more

My wife found this shop through reviews here on Yelp. We ended up scheduling tattoos together with Tony. My wife's tattoo ended up GREAT and mine did as well. The shop is clean, Tony and the other artists were friendly and their prices were actually reasonable (which is hard to come by in the Denver Metro area these days). If you're looking for a classic tattoo shop with talented artists, this is the place. Great conversation, great music, and great vibes. Phil knocks out work quickly without sacrificing quality, and the tattoos heal well and hold up over time. Definitely the spot in Boulder to go for traditional style tattoos, flash and custom work.
