Review I've been coming to Dr. Pak's office for about 6 months. I can't recommend her enough. I couldn't find practitioners I felt comfortable with, took insurance and had convenient hours. Dr. Pak ticks off those boxes. Her office is pristine and the longest I've sat in the waiting room was my first visit because I had to fill out forms. I initially started seeing her for fatigue and overall balance. I am still seeing her because I have various chronic issues. She has given me relief for many of them and some unexpected potentially covid related things. If you have pain, anxiety, fatigue, long covid symptoms, etc., try acupuncture. The bonus is you get to relax in a dimly lit room with soothing music for about 25 minutes. I think we could all use some of that nowadays. read more

Normally, I don't really go see my doctors and would just stay home if I get sick. But when my friend forced me to go see Dr.pak, Which I'm so thankful for, the first impression I got as soon as I walked in to see Dr.pak was : she was very sweet and kind and made me feel comfortable as she suggested me about my diet, and my bad habits. I happened to come across Dr. Pak's practice on a whim. Unfortunately I had experienced some minor foot pain and was in desperate need of some relief. So I checked out Yelp and was lucky enough to come across Dr. Pak's practice and she was able to fit me in! Being a huge fan of acupuncture, I'm always interested in the different techniques. Dr. Pak's was new to me. She went over my health and then asked where I was experiencing pain. She then applied pressure in my upper abdominal/ lower chest area. Initially the pain hurt but within minutes it subsided after she inserted the needles. I was pretty impressed. I also loooooved her heated mat and lamps. I'm not sure if the cold weather helped make the experience better, but it felt amazing. Within minutes of inserting the needles, I was out like a light. I woke up feeling grounded. My foot wasn't 100% better but it felt better then when I went in. And the day later it felt better. I really wish I lived closer to Dr. Pak because if I did, I'd see her more often. Highly recommend Dr. Pak and her style of acupuncture! For the past year or so, I'd been experiencing neck and shoulder pain on a daily basis, and for much of my life, I'd suffered from various aches and pains in different parts of my body as well as constant fatigue. I never knew what was wrong with me because every time I went to see a doctor (and I've seen many of them over the years), they always told me I was perfectly fine and healthy, and all the X-rays, CT scans and blood tests showed nothing of concern. Since no one was able to explain what was going on with me, I started to believe that I might be a bit of a hypochondriac and/or have an inexplicable, incurable condition like fibromyalgia. But when I started having constant neck and shoulder pain, I knew I needed to do something about it and decided to give acupuncture a try. And wow--it started changing my life right away! Dr. Pak checked my pulse and pressed some areas on my torso and immediately knew that there were actually a lot of things that were wrong with me, which explained the aches, pains and low levels of energy I'd been feeling all these years. It would be impossible for me to explain everything she told me, but basically my chi was low and imbalanced, and the kinds of food and drinks I'd been consuming all my life (e.g., iced coffee and even salad and raw food in general!) were actually bad for my particular body type/constitution and had exacerbated my symptoms. I've been seeing Dr. Pak for about 3 months now, but I'm already noticing a difference in my quality of life--my neck and shoulder pain is gone, I have more energy, I'm able to sleep better, and my body feels a bit lighter (some folks have told me that I look slimmer too, though I haven't made any changes to my lifestyle besides receiving acupuncture treatments, taking some herbal medicine, and reducing my intake of certain foods/drinks). Previously, my legs, ankles and feet also used to swell up somewhat frequently, but that doesn't seem to happen anymore either. Definitely planning to continue receiving treatments from Dr. Pak--the visits and the herbal medicine can be rather expensive, but I think if that means I can live a longer and healthier life, it's worth it. I wound up seeing Dr. Pak after experiencing back pain and spasms that couldn't even allow me to stand. Based on the review here along with her being a licnesed nurse, I felt more at ease. Sure enough, my pain has subsided through her treatment. It seems odd at first that targeting areas away from where you would conventionally apply relief would work. Applying an open mind as well as Dr. Pak's ability to apply acupuncture in a manner in which she seeks to treat overall symptoms has helped me greatly. I stumbled upon this clinic as an out of town visitor looking for an acupuncturist and thought I was going to a traditional Chinese medicine acupuncturist, but she practices 4 needle Korean acupuncture. I found it to be very powerful. I went for extreme pollen allergies/ clogged ears. I was 95% better after 1 treatment and didn't feel I needed to go back, but wanted to anyway! I have been to Loving Touch acupuncture on a few occasions and always walked out feeling better and refreshed. The atmosphere is very calming and friendly, and I love the natural approach of healing. Dr. Pak, who was an RN before she became an acupuncturist, has a vast knowledge of how best to heal your body, which is not by just ingesting pills prescribed by most doctors. Her approach is more wholesome, targeting how to actually heal the source of pain and not just mask it or stave it off. I'm always amazed and fascinated by learning how which part of my body affects another part, and how after every session Dr. Pak gently prods me to find the troubled source and inserts a few needles, I do feel myself getting better. I normally do not leave reviews but Dr. Pak has changed my life for the better, so I believe a testimony is warranted. I had previously suffered from dehabilitating muscle pains for 20+ years. I have tried everything in the field of western medicine and have met with over 20 so called experts and specialists but most of them just prescribed steroids and opiates which did nothing to treat my chronic condition. After struggling for 2 years with bulging discs in my neck and mid to lower back, i have tried everything from epidural shots, therapy, medications and NOTHING was ever a relief until NOW. This practice has helped immensely to alleviate pain around my right knee. My right knee pain was so severe that it started to affect my left knee which was overcompensating for my right knee. I've tried physical therapy for my knee pain as well, but I saw significant improvement as I received treatment from Dr. Pak. I resorted to acupuncture because I had back pain from daily carrying a heavy bag and walking 3 long blocks to work in Manhattan. I was also suffering from plantar fasciitis for 4 years and had cortisone shots that did not last 2 months each time. I was not overweight so the problem, various podiatrists had told me, were the inflammation, the way I walked, and the shoes that I wore. But no matter how many different types of shoes I used (comfort shoes or not), and however carefully I walked, the pain never went away. Getting up from prolonged sitting on the express bus and stepping down onto the street were agonizing. Getting off my regular car, even after a short ride, was difficult too. I felt like an old lady way before my time and I was afraid that I would end up walking with a cane if the pain got any worse. I went to Loving Touch Acupuncture and told Dr. Soon R. Pak about my problems. With regards to my plantar fasciitis, she said that such condition usually took a while to diminish. I work full time in the city and have difficulty making it to her clinic on the weekdays. But, in my desperation, I made sure that I got treated 3 times in one week (once a week, she said, would not do). After that one week, I went on a 2-week vacation, and then she was out of town when I got back. I was afraid that I would have had to re-start the treatment over after a month of no sessions. As it turned out, that gave me time to see how well the 3 treatments worked. Coming out of the clinic after the 3rd session, I realized that I was not walking funny anymore. I was talking to my husband on the way to the car that I didn't pay attention to the pain (or the lack of it) until I reached the vehicle. But I dismissed that as a natural consequence of just having had the treatment. However, as days went by, the pain quickly and completely left! I couldn't believe it! My last treatment was about 5 months ago and I never had to deal with the plantar fasciitis ever since! I would constantly pay attention to my feet to make sure that I'm not imaging things but I absolutely have no pain! With regards to my back problem, it is much less but I still need to go back for a 3 session week, which I hadn't had the time to schedule. I also need to stop slinging my heavy bag on the same shoulder. I guess that I'm not as desperate now as I was when I first went to Loving Touch but I really should not make that an excuse to not go because I want my back to be completely pain-free. Dr. Pak had never put a needle on where my pains were located. She knew exactly which points to attack. When she would press on my abdominal side and it's painful, that pain would disappear by the time the session was over. Obviously anticipating healing, she would always ask if the pain was gone. Dr Soon is wonderful. The practice is very clean and quiet and very accommodating. I went to see Dr Soon because I had chronic fatigue, lack on energy, poor digestive system and my face was always pale and yellow. I knew I had to do something. I had been doing acupuncture somewhere else and the results are great but limited to only a few days. What made a tremendous difference was the herbs. I took customized herbs for my aliments and i saw a night and day difference in two weeks. The herbs are a bit expensive but definitely worth trying once or twice to get your body back to balance. And from there you will start to feel so much better. In just two weeks, the color on my face looked healthier and I had alot more energy to do things. I have been seeing Dr. Pak for about six weeks and am impressed by the progress we have made with my insomnia. For nearly two years, I have had difficulty sleeping. I had no trouble falling asleep, but within 2-3 hours, I would wake up and often have difficulty getting back to sleep. Several doctors wanted to prescribe sleeping pills to me, but I strongly resisted their suggestions and chose to try acupuncture. I was really afraid for the first session, since I do not like needles and have passed out giving blood. Dr. Pak is excellent at putting in the needles and I must say, it's not painful at all! Once a skeptic now a true believer in Acupuncture. I found Dr. Soon Pak through Groupon, where I purchased three treatments. I had such a positive experience I continue to go to her. The office is very clean and neat, her staff is very nice and she will work with you if your insurance does not cover it. I went to her for severe gastritis and knee pain (not knowing that one had to do with the other). I was amazed at the results after a month of treatment (I go twice a week) and I no longer have to take medication. She is extremely dedicated to her patients and truly cares about your health. She takes the time to listen to your symptoms and your concerns and evaluates treatment needed. I can honestly say I have not felt this good in a very long time. I have so much more energy (she has released all the blocked energy) and I am sleeping better - my overall health has improved so much with the help of Dr. Soon Pak. I learned about this place through a Groupon...I decided to go for fertility and chronic back pain issues...I had not done acupuncture before so I was curious...the office is small but nice and clean and Dr Pak uses sterile needles ( I see her open new packages and throw the used needles in the red sharps container). I may not buy all the Eastern philosophy she sometimes explains (it sometimes sounds hokey to me) but I believe that she knows her acupuncture points and I have felt some back improvements and overall increased energy during the day...I no longer want to slumber around 3:00pm every day...I believe the acupuncture is relaxing and helpful and Dr Pak appears dedicated to targeting the symptoms you present. She's very good at inserting the needles and you hardly feel anything... The only reason I didnt give her 5 stars is because her attitude is sometimes a little matter of fact...I think it may be a cultural thing thing though...however she is also very good at working out a sliding scale fee if insurance doesnt cover it. Overall , a very positive experience and im still going even after the groupon was used! I recommend her! It took 7 years, numerous specialists and countless procedures including a week long hospitalization to diagnose my extremely rare, chronic and debilitating migraines. Dr. Pak is a caring and gifted healer that unlike many other medical practitioners never makes you feel only like a "billable timeslot". She listens to you and works to address all your concerns/issues. I went to her for unrelenting neck/headache that was more pronounced (strangely enough) whenever I was in resting mode. Being that I'm 69 and being treated for N-H. Lymphoma it was hard to maintain energy throughout the day. Dr. Pak combined acupuncture (4 weeks; 2 x a week) with a 2-week regime of an herbal drink to "strengthen my blood". Results were felt after the first week of acupuncture and within days of starting the herbal drink. During one session I mentioned that I had tummy distress from the lunch I had just had and Dr. Pak worked on that. Almost immediately after starting the treatment the tummy distress disappeared and I felt great the rest of the day. Dr. Pak is a most compassionate person and I rarely felt any of the needles she inserted (unlike my experience with other acupuncturists). Following two years of back pain, including a herniated disc and pinched nerve, and following cortisone shots, decompression therapy, and chiropractic treatments, I decided to try acupuncture. So I dug up my expired Groupon, and went in, which they gladly honored. Dr. Pak was very clear, explaining everything about what I could expect. After my first session, I felt immense relief, and by the third visit, I was hooked. She even treated my sinus infection, with acupuncture and Chinese medicine. It cleared up in days. She recommended I see her at least twice a week, which has definitely made a difference. Before going to her, I used to sit on a stool to do my dishes because of my back pain. About a week ago, I realized I had been standing up to do my dishes in the previous three weeks! I didn't realize I wasn't using the stool. The office is clean and professional, and Dr. Pak has a great bedside manner. She does take medical insurance, but you should check with her to confirm which ones.
