One word, AMAZING!!!!! I came to Dr. Kim for migraine problems and to treat the night sweats that come with pre-menopause. Now he is treating a digestive issue I have since I was a little girl and helping my broken toe heal faster. Dr. Kim is like a one stop shop for your health without annoying chemicals going into your body! I love, and I emphasized LOVE coming for my treatments. I felt the difference from my first treatment and holy cow, no pill in the world can work that fast! I broke my toe during the holidays and I was having nerve pain from my toe to my heel. Guess what? Dr Kim is the real deal. He's a bit on the matter of fact tone probably given his Korean background but he helped me tremendously. I would without a doubt, recommend him for your acupuncture, pain management needs. I went in with 15/10 pain in my neck and thoracic area. I went to PT and another acupuncturist day before and now I was needing another acupuncture treatment session. Dr Kim's session was no joke, it was intense and painful but necessary. He does acupuncture with electrodes to spasm the muscle and tire the muscles out. So painful but so effective. I was so sore. He then proceeded with cupping then medicinal tincture with heating pad. All together it helped me by 50%. I think I will return again soon because I still have residual neck pain and tightness. No regrets with Dr Kim. Found this place through yelp and set up an appointment for my mom. She was having muscle aches around the next and shoulder so we came in for acupuncture. I suffer a pretty bad injure with my shoulder where I can't do any types of pulling with my left arm. At first I was skeptical about acupuncture but my sister in law who also were a patient from Dr Kim highly recommended me to try it. I cannot recommend Regen Acupuncture highly enough! I came in with severe neck pain. Dr. Kim took his time and evaluated me, discussing the treatment that he felt would best suit my needs. He carefully explained how/why the treatment would help me. My neck feels so much better after my treatment! Dr. Kim is the only acupuncturist who treats patients, so you know that you'll see him every time, which makes for continuity. This is not true at other acupuncture places, where you might see a different person every time you go, so they are not familiar with your situation. I lost weight with Dr. TAEHOON 15lbs 7weeks. I went Regen Acupuncture once a weeks, check inbody, which shows detail of my body, and taking medicine. When my orthopedist recommended acupuncture as a compliment to the other things prescribed for my back and neck pain I was open minded, but I took a stutter-step once I saw the price. As a student there was no way I was going to pay $150 for something I wasn't remotely confident. A few months later with the pain still there I took interest when I saw a Groupon for Regen Acupuncture and decided it was time. The first thing worth noting about this facility is that it's very clean, and highly professional. Two things that mattered above all else to me. After my first treatment I felt some relief but I wasn't sure what to attribute it to. When I went in for my second treatment I was in the worst of pain so we did acupuncture followed by cupping, which was amazing. Two days later I'm still feeling quite a bit better which is great considering I haven't gone two days without neck pain in years. I still don't know what to attribute to the acupuncture itself, but cupping I will definitely continue long term. Hi, I went to Regen because I had shoulder/arm pains but did not want to go to a Western doc and get prescriptions to mask the pain. I wanted to cure the pain. Found Regen via Yelp and wanted give back to the community with a review. Called and made an appointment - they take most insurance with $30 copay. Call first to make sure. Office is located in the first floor of a large apartment building. Parking lot is available for free. Clean and quiet office, not an assembly line acupuncture office where they make you wait forever and then rush you out. Very pleasant office. This was my first acupuncture, I was a little nervous - Dr. Kim really calm me down. He is very knowledgeable and efficient. The needles were not painful at all. The electric simulation was not something I was expecting, but it was none the less great for the pain. Cupping was the last part, I'm sure you need it before. Glass cup all your back, I enjoy that - BUT afterwards - it looks like someone gave you giant circular hickeys all over your back. Now the pain, first session help a little. The 2nd visit was AWESOME - pain almost gone. The 3rd visit - pain all gone from shoulder/arm. Pretty amazing - no prescription drugs involved at all. Highly recommended - Dr. Kim is excellent on what he does - very in tune with the new and old generations. Call and make an appointment - I'm glad I did. I went to see Dr. Kim about sore shoulders/fatigue from too much desk-sitting and some unrelated sports injuries in my lower body (sore knee, Achilles tendon pain). Dr. Kim was very informative, explaining different reasons for my discomfort and how I might be able to prevent it in the future. This was my second experience with acupuncture. My previous experience with acupuncture was after a sports-related groin injury (not with Dr. Kim). The treatment that first time was effective, but I didn't completely feel comfortable because I did not feel like the procedures were adequately explained to me, and before I knew it needles were being stuck in sensitive areas around my groin. On the other hand, Dr. Kim was careful to explain to me the different procedures he was going to use, so even when I had a needle stuck in my head (which, admittedly, made me feel a bit lightheaded) I knew what to expect. My favorite procedure was the cupping, which I must say has relieved my sore shoulders (still going strong a week later, and the dinosaur hickeys are going away). I definitely feel that my muscles are less tense and I feel less of a need to constantly crack my shoulder blades like I usually do. Dr. Kim also gave me an herbal supplement to drink-- it doesn't taste like ice cream or chocolate or anything too pleasant, but I think my overall energy level has gone up in the past week. read more

Last year I was crawling up walls with a crazy pain shooting from the left side of my buttocks all the way down my left leg. I had never experienced a pain like that not even when I was given birth to my son. Dr. Kim was very kind, professional, and conscientious. During the intake, he asked lots of questions about my back pain and proceeded with both acupuncture and cupping. He also did scraping on the second visit (which is a firm pressure massage with a smooth tool, not painful, but quite effective). After two sessions, my acute back pain was gone and I was discharged with a recommendation to try a local yoga studio and reduce work-related stress ;-P. I agree with all the other review comments. I actually went there after reading all of reviews on yelp. I suffer from muscle pain in my shoulder after a car accident. Dr. Kim was very helpful in zoning into the pain and helped loosen those specific muscle groups. Previously I have tried physical therapy which I didn't see significant results in. Best thing about Dr. Kim is he mixes his knowledge of both western and eastern medicine and finds a balance between the two, to help the problem. Additionally, the deciding factor about Dr. Kim was that I read a review that said he discharged a patient after 3-4 visits. I used to work for a doctor's office and it was all about money there. The general doctor would want to see the patients ever 3 weeks without any discharged dates/notice. Dr. Kim is genuine and isn't like the money hungry doctors you experience in the western medical world (in my experience). He listens to you and tries his best to help the situation until it's better. He recommends other ways to help the problem, in the long run, outside of his office as well. My father was diagnosed with Bell Palsy. We tried 2 other acupuncturist before coming to Regen. I was mostly impressed with the care given by the Dr. He took time to understand symptoms, what medications he was on, and explain more about the causes. The acupuncture treatment was spot on. The treatments have been semi-effective. For my anxiety, this has been 60% effective. For this recently, had needles implanted into the ears to calm my mind. It does seem to help with mental clarity. Hoping it continues to hold up. For weight loss, it has been pretty good. Healthier way of doing it and the doctor prepares some advice on weight loss. The last treatment seemed to spread out the qi stagnation to the entire body creating a numbing effect. read more

I suffer from chronic migraines. I have tried all that is in book to find relief. A coworker suggested Acupunture, but couldn't remember where she went. I looked up on yelp and glad I found Dr. Kim. I have been suffering with intense back injuries for a year now. I had tried regular physical therapy and even though it was helping a little, I was not seeing a huge change. I had been considering trying acupuncture but I was hesitant with the overly saturated acupuncture practices in Flushing, so I was very happy to find Dr. Kim for intimate one on one Chinese Medicinal treatments. He is very knowledgeable, skillful professional, not to mention one of the kindest medical practitioners I have ever had. Dr. Kim actually listens and caters each session to my needs for that day. I have been getting acupuncture and cupping done for some weeks now. Even though the cupping bruises are not very sexy, especially on a female, it removes deep tissue pain and is well worth it in exchange for some red circles that disappear over a few days. Along with acupuncture he has been making a special herbal concoction to drink that helps my body distress and digest to clear up my skin. My eczema is finally under control and I rarely have severe breakouts like before. Taekoon is a miracle worker! I struggled with infertility for 5 yrs and have been to other acupuncturists and have not been successful at getting pregnant. I started with Taekoon twice a week three wks before my IVF transfer and the embryos made it to my uterus. This is not my first IVF and i have also had surgery and 4 IUIs that were unsuccessful. Kim is not a doctor of either Chinese nor Western allopathic medicine; rather he has merely taken a two-year course that skims both practices. One of his acupuncture points on my head became infected and the cupping on my arm left me very bruised for a couple of weeks. I had excellent results with other Chinese trained practitioners in the past that included cupping that resulted in very short-lived marks on my skin; but those practitioners were doctors who had trained for at least 8 years in China. read more

I'm so happy to have found TaeHoon, he is a TRUE professional and thoroughly explains everything to you. I don't know why there aren't more reviews for him...maybe because we (the patients) are trying to keep this GEM all to ourselves :) My husband started going to him about a month ago and has noticed significant improvement. My mom had been struggling with sleeping since early December. This isn't her first time, and when she gets these bouts it's pretty bad. Dr. Kim prescribed a herbal formula and her sleep improved within a couple of days. She did experience mild side effects, and he told her how to adjust her intake.
