We were staying at an RV park in Yuma for a few days before continuing to SoCal and Mexico. Our Scotty-mix, Ferguson, really needed his hair cut & nails trimmed, especially heading to a beach resort with lots of sand (which he loves to roll in!) I found Loving Pets on Yelp and since they were close by, we decided to give them our business. This is a very low-stress grooming service, operated out of the owner's home. Fergie wasn't anxious at all because he thought we just came for a visit. JoLynn gave him a fantastic cut, which she called a "desert cut". When I arrived in Yuma a year and half ago I needed a groomer for my shy dog Daisy. Daisy has major separation anxiety issues therefore so do I when I leave her some where alone. Daisy also HATES to get groomed. I took her to the pooch parlor to get groomed because it was conveniently located next door to where I live. Biggest mistake of my life. They abused my dog and then had the nerve to ask how I knew she was abused. Daisy is 11 years old and needs to be handled with gentleness and care as her bones are fragile. They didn't care about my dog and her issues, they just want to make money. I struggled with trying to groom her myself. That was NOT pretty. Then one day my co-worker Rachael told me about Loving pets grooming. I called and made appointment right away. I explained my concerns to the Husband and wife team (I like to call them Joe & Jo) I felt a little anxiety dropping her off at someone's home to get groomed. When I picked her up 2 hours later Daisy had never been groomed so well and she was happy all afternoon. I know my dog like I know my child. I know when she had a good day or bad day. Any how I have been bringing Daisy to Loving pets grooming for a year now and Daisy LOVES to get dropped off for a groom. Her and Jolynn have a bond and Daisy doesn't bond with anyone. Let me first start off by saying my dogs are runners when they believe they're about to be groomed! My 110lb Rottweiler will jump through hurdles not to get her nails touched. Jo and her husband are just the best. They are experienced with large scared dogs like mine and always exceed my expectations. Honestly, they spoil my dogs rotten. The grooming prices are extremely fair and probably the lowest in town. They are easy to get ahold of and are very reliable on when the dogs will be done. I've had my dogs groomed over 6 times with them and I've never had a bad experience. They've even watched my dogs over night when I was in a pinch. Amazing! Our Aussie is older and has back and hip issues so I was concerned about taking her to a new place, even though I saw wonderful reviews from others. You're always concerned about your own furbabies. Wonderful, amazing, superb, and any other adjective you can think of, this place is all that! They only take one dog at a time, dropped off Marla at 9:30 and she was ready by 11am! Marla went in dirty and very hairy, came out white and looking beautiful! And the icing on the cake is that Marla was happy and did not look stressed at all. Definitely recommend them! read more
