Let that sink in for a moment before I begin this review. Some background: I've been frequenting this rest stop ever since I met my husband (then boyfriend) back in 2012. His family lives in central Kansas and this stop is **roughly** halfway between KC and where most of them live. We both have always agreed that it's a solid store and likely the best one in eastern Kansas, before you hit bigger cities that have QTs available. It was a record breaking cold day the last time I was here with my family and we stopped as per usual for a quick restroom break and to pick up a bottle of water or two before continuing on our journey west. As is has been every other time I've been here over the past decade, it was clean, the folks working courteous, the bathrooms well stocked, and plenty of snacks and beverages to choose from. So, what makes this place 4 instead of 5 stars you might ask? Just a few small things: 1. they only carry one brand of sparkling water and are often out of it. That's my number one request at any rest stop these days and on my last visit here I snagged the very last bottle, I'm sure to someone else's dismay. 2. It's a great convenience store/ gas station but it just can't compare to the kings in this category like WaWa and QuikTrip. I will say though, what sets this spot from the others is consistency. This stop has come through for me on many occasions and I'm sure will continue to do so for years to come.

The pork is sourced locally - had loin grilled perfectly with a nice glaze as part of a Saturday night summer special incorporating church cookbook recipes and family recipes. I got a gorgeous Asian slaw, potato casserole cornflake topping and zucchini casserole. Dessert was apple crisp à la mode. All for a good price. You can fish a beer you like out of the cooler of ice. Steaks and hamburgers are grilled to order on an outside grill. The cook is passionate about all of the food and stopped to talk to us. The waitress is running around and also very knowledgeable about food. Give her grace when it gets busy. We had a great conversation with Charlie at the cash register who explained the origin of the restaurant and what they've been doing recently. It is very casual.

So I put $20.09 gas in my tank. At the time I did not realize that they took $125 the whole amount I put on my debit card. They said 48 hours or 14 days or something ridiculous. I called them and they are absolutely useless they cannot help me. So that $125 is already cleared my bank and been paid to them. So now it has to be turned into a refund which I should have already done but out of their control according to the representative. I feel sorry for Amazon right now for teaming up with them. If I were to put $50 on that debit card probably would have been fine and I could have gone a week or two with you know $30. But $105 cuz I only got $20 worth of gas. They don't realize what a shoestring budget some people are on it I'm on the edge constantly in this is bad! So don't ever do that leave a debit card with money on it that you don't want to disappear and have to wait. Never happened before like that but I was going to the cashier. I'm sure I got my point across so I'm going to stop now. Didn't mean to rant too much.

THEY SUCK! Jonathan Majors…read morea day ago New First I have to say that most of the staff there on the store side and the restaurant side are very nice and courteous people. But what disturbs me the most is the Managers specifically one by the name of Ana and the other by the name of Mattie both are and this is being kind under developed when it comes to language, dress, and professionalism. I've seen a lot of bad managers but these two are the worst. I've actually heard Ana say I'm about to " fire a bitch" in front of customers and heard Mattie call her kitchen staff a bunch of idiots. I use to be a regular there but not anymore. The way they talk to there employees is very disrespectful to say the least. They speak to them as they are beneath them it's disgusting. I actually run my own business and I would never speak of my employees in such a manner especially in front of customers how these two people still have a job amazes me. Loves can do better. Could not believe my bad luck with the screw. I was panicked. What in the world was I going to do? Thankfully, my friend suggested that I take my car to Westside 66. I actually looked at him like he was crazy because it was a Sunday afternoon. He assured me they were still open. I have to confess that I did not entirely believe him. LOL. He said, "They can fix it in 10 minutes and it will cost you about $16." Yeah, right. So I headed Westside 66 and kept my fingers crossed. The cashier told me to pull around back and they would look at the tire. Honestly, within ten minutes... the tire was fixed and it cost $16. I could not believe my good luck on finding this place. The mechanic who worked on my tire was nice, professional and he knew exactly what to do to get me fixed. He did not waste time with small talk and he got me right on my way. The cashier was very nice and courteous. She, too, was professional and very helpful. I appreciate her guidance. I asked her if they had been busy and she said it was a slow day for them.
