Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as of April 2026, I believe this Love's Travel Stop at Exit 172 in Thomson is one of the better stops to fill up on I-20 between Atlanta and Augusta. I stopped by here to fill up and use the restroom on Masters Sunday morning, April 12, 2026. I used Pump #6 of 16 and paid $4.649 per gallon for premium. Gas prices have been up because of the Iran war. The men's room was clean. The convenience store has a Chester's Chicken and Subway attached. There's also a Waffle House next door, which my friend and I stopped at on our way back to Atlanta in the evening. read more

I want to say a quick thank you to the staff of this store especially Beverly and Kim. I had an issue with a driver abandoning a truck at their location near a curb. I'm not a big fan of the entrance/exit here as it is shared by both trucks and cars, two types of vehicles that generally don't mix well. Other than that, it is easy access for me in my Sprinter van. This Love's had the cleanest men's room ever. Well cared for, no water on the counter, no towels on the floor and a clean toilet area. Like, wow. The rest of the store is in great shape and I was able to easily get my "second coffee" the way I wanted it and pay for it so that I'm back out on the road. An easy-access location for quick pit stops off of I20. There is even a dog park outside, which was rated highly by folks on Tik Tok. Large selection of snacks, quick gas station food. Large selection of drinks and coffee. I have never seen so many choices of creamer and sugar for my coffee selection. One side of Love's is the bathroom and showers and automotive/trucking store for purchases on your road trip. I love how Love's keeps the place so nice and clean. Any family trip I have I will feel safe visiting and stopping at Love's. read more

So let me start by saying I don't drive and road trips are my least favorite way to travel. Done and done. So - of course Love's is a dream come true for both the traveler and the ummm - non traveler like me. I am a great co-Pilot. I will get the snacks, pump the gas. Whatever we need to keep the car on the road. Love's is great because no matter what time you stop here, you are right on time. The restrooms are spotless. The staff is helpful and friendly. Whatever random thing you need for the road? I know it's really for the truckers - but still - they have it. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner are also always being served. Right off the interstate - so very easy access for travelers. Lots of gas pumps and plenty of space to walk the four-legged companions. Options for food and beverage at Chester's (chicken), Subway, or the well-stocked convenience store. Standard "travel stop" pricing (meaning you pay more than at a grocery store, but no more than at any other roadside travel center). Pit stops are a necessary evil for most road trips, and unless you're familiar with the area, finding a decent gas station with clean restrooms can be tricky. Exit 172 on I-20 has quite a few options. My favorite when traveling westbound is the Love's Travel Stop. A quick right off the highway, then left into the station. Then, on departing, you turn right, and the highway entrance is the next right. Easy off, easy on. Gas prices are competitive, and the restrooms are clean. Bonus - paper towels are available to dry your hands. Highway driving invariably results in windshield carnage of the insect type. Luckily, Love's also keeps their windshield cleaner bins fully loaded with effective cleanser; my windshield was splatter free in just a few seconds. If you're hungry, Love's has an assortment of snacks and other goodies in their store, or you can venture next door to the attached Subway or Chester's Pizza. (I pack my own road food, but there seemed to be quite a variety of foodstuffs.) read more

As for Love's, if you're going to offer such amenities, perhaps take care of them. Very few are actually picked up after and stocked with waste bags. Another great loves truck stop they aslo gave free choice on the masks even though sign on door says its policy to wear one. I'm all for the free choice on the matter. The staff was super friendly they lived up to the southern hospitality. Parking lot about medium size for cars. Big truck parking was pretty large. Like all the other loves so far very clean inside and restrooms clean. They did do something different which me and my wife liked. They had a employee getting coffee and soft drinks for everyone. Yeah...I'm a fan of this truck stop franchise. This is the 3rd Love's that I have stopped at and since I've been to this location 4 times, I feel like I can write a decent review of the joint. First let me be the first to say that when my new Boo said, we need to stop here to get your vest I thought, "Yippie we goin shopin!". But when we pulled in and it was a truck stop I thought "WTF. He done fooled me into coming to a truck stop!". But this is more like a the Quick Trip on Fulton Industrial and Camp Creek Pkwy/Thornton Rd. If you have not had the pleasure of visiting the Publix of Gas Stations then what I mean is that it has clean bathroom's, plenty of fresh food, a lovely beverage station and even some hats, sun glasses and other grocery store needs. This Love's Truck Stop also has a Subway inside and I think I saw some Pizza place as well. They have jewelry, leather jackets, vests and an assortment of hats. I left with a black vest, a brown cow girl hat and a few rings and bracelets. I also noticed some equipment for trucks. Like GPS, Radio's, Car chargers, etc.....I guess I could best describe this store as a mini Walmart for Truck Drivers and Travelers alike. read more

Another reviewer called this the the Publix of gas stations. I really like the Publix grocery store chain, and that's totally not the feel I got from here. I pulled off on this exit and went to a Raceway, but they were not open and it was 2 in the morning, so I was happy when I saw the lights on from this place from the Raceway. I walked inside and they had more knick knacks than a gas station should be allowed to have, but the bathroom was clean, although the stall I entered had no tissue. There were a ton of men in the store, and being a woman traveling alone, I didn't feel unsafe, but gotta keep in mind, that there are more men truckers at a truck stop at 2 in the morning than there are ladies. never been to a Love's Travel Stop before, but feel better knowing the lights are on here also if I'm unable to find a QuickTrip. read more

This place has so much! Variety on every food, beverage...heck the novelty items are awesome to browse.

This was a great place to take a load off. The stalls were well enforced! I wasn't worried about being turd burglerd here. They also had a great selection of junk inside. Plenty of last second gifts or things you may need on a road trip. I will say the gas could have been cheaper but it's Highway gas... The usual snacks and drinks were available as one would expect. Im local this is the closest station from my house. 3 yo and 13 month old in car. Went to fill wifes car for the following day. Both babys like to ride give her a chance to shower. Purchased items in the store. Go to leave car wouldnt start battery. 13 month wakes up didnt bring bottle because we just went to fill up for next few days of work. Live 4 miles away. Ask if they had a jump box was told no. This is a service truck stop mind you. Can anyone help told to go to back ask for xxx in service not saying name. Told he was kinda busy doing a shift change would be a while. No one was even in the store besides a lady behind me. Said she would gladly help and made a statement this is messed up. She just didnt have cables. Paid $34 for a $10 pair of jumper cables they were more than happy to sell me. To tell me a full service truck stop cannot assist a family in need of a simple jump start. All this depending on one man who says he is busy and doing a shift change is awful. Keep in mind they all have radios. Just sickened me all these years i did business with them. read more
