Last year, my sister stopped here with me in the car during an emergency. I didn't know then where we were, but I verified it later. Anyway, they had Slush Puppies. Yes, the original Slush Puppies. For you youngsters, Slush Puppies were a staple in the late '80s and early '90s. Similar to Icee or Slurpee, they were unique because you squirt the syrup into the cup, then add the ice. It would blend perfectly. Was it magic? Was it sorcery? Who knows, it was just awesome, and the ice couldn't be beat in texture. Sadly, this location did away with them. It was the first time I had seen them since I was a kid and apparently I won't see them again any time soon. I'm so sad!!!

The self checkout is great though, because there is enough space and systems to get people completed quickly. It's pretty hit or miss how the staff will be. They treat you like a criminal at the door leaving: they check your receipt. Depending on how you look, they go above and beyond and will even go through your bags versus just checking the large items. If you can't use self checkout, make sure you don't take the checker's word on your amount of bags. Twice now, I was told I didn't have another bag and found several items were left at the store (and calling doesn't do any good to recover the paid-for items). They seem to always be stocking. Even before the COVID crap. Sometimes it is quite a pain to get down the aisles. Generally though, the stockers are super friendly and will help you navigate around them. This location is what it is. I don't expect much from Walmart anyway, but this location has the bar set even lower.

Lucille's…read moregas station is one of the icons that has been lovingly restored and cared for, even though the station's namesake has sadly passed away. You can't get gas here and it offers no services, but it's located right off the main highway with plenty of parking and amazing photo ops. The little white service station, built in the 1930s, is one of only two upper-story porch style stations left on Oklahoma's stretch of Route 66! It was built with the owner's living area above the station and has a delightful American Craftsman style architecture. The vintage gas pumps remain, and there's a nifty historical marker with more information about the building. Lucille's was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places in the late 90s. Worth a stop, and bring your camera!

They greeted us quickly and took our order. We took a seat and even during the busy lunch hour our food was delivered in under 10 minutes.
