I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted/needed when I got there, but was pleasantly surprised at what I found. The yarn matched what I wanted to do much better than I ever imagined. The manager was amazing, and even special ordered a perfect match for one other part of the project. Really high quality items and people!

It's a small store but has a moderately wide selection of yarns including cotton. Much better than a Michael's. They will cake the yarn for you. The two associates were very knowledgeable about the products. They answered all questions but in a curt manner. They seems annoyed by mine and my girlfriend's existence as my girlfriend excitedly explained yarn to me. The prices were very reasonable. I would go back out of convenience for something specific but would recommend a larger more friendly store to spend time in for pursuing for new items.

My daughter has expressed an interest in learning how to knit. I brought her to Lovelyarns to check out yarn, needles and possible lessons. We received assistance immediately upon entering and signed up for lessons in January. I don't know anything about knitting but it seems as if my daughter will be in capable hands.

I've been meaning to get here for literally years (2) - so there was a lot of expectation that wasn't requited. This place is dinky! I was greeted immediately and, since I didn't have an immediate need, I just browsed. Lots of pretty accessories (stitch markers, jewelry) tempted me. I saw knit and crochet samples for cheap, too. Unfortunately, none of the yarns called to me, they were unfamiliar brands. I would have likely bought some Rowan, Addi Turbos, or Noro if there were any... The lady working this Sunday morning was very friendly. Surprisingly, in the short time I was here, at least half a dozen other shoppers came in.

adorable!

Super helpful, great stories and a lot of local yarn dyers and companies. We'll worth the cab ride.

I was promptly welcomed on the first floor by a woman that was twisting yarn into hanks and two women relaxing from the dye class. They were incredibly polite, friendly and personable: all the qualities I have come to expect from local yarn shops. The second floor is the store. You will not find major brands here. The store is dedicated to all of the in-house dyed yarns. They offer a variety of yarn by fiber types (mohair, silk, merino wool blends, etc.) with most, if not all unique yarn colors in every yarn weight and plies. They also offer yarn kits! The store is open, with big windows that offer natural sunlight, a few areas to relax and knit (or crochet) and is very VERY clean. It's not overwhelming or cluttered. The ladies that work there are honestly the best part of the entire experience. One woman there, (Becca?) was incredibly helpful with helping me find the right color combinations, weight and amount of yarn for my project. They do not try to upsell you and convince you to buy everything in stock. She asked sensible questions of "what are you making? What kind of yarn do you like? Do you know how many yards you need?" And if you don't have an answer, she can either make a very well-educated guess or will happily look for a similar pattern online to get you the right amount. The ladies also offer yarn and crochet classes, and I am sure they would not disappoint. I am signing up to take a knitting class with them in the fall because I'm eager to learn. They even complimented my crochet skills! I am so happy to have finally made my way to this yarn store. They have found a very happy repeat customer in me!

I have yet to find another dyer who can get colors this vivid and perfect on non-SW yarn. I highly recommend stopping by, even if just to catch a glimpse of the dyeing set up. Note, the retail area is up a flight of stairs, and I do not believe this older building is wheelchair accessible.

It took us almost six months to make it out there on a Saturday, but we went last weekend in search of yarn for a hat he wants to make. We were both impressed with the shop. Lana, the owner, is delightful and super helpful. She asked which of us was the knitter and didn't assume it was me (it is both! But he was the shopper that day!) and she spent a bunch of time showing him options based on what parameters he gave. While they searched I went off on my own looking at the selection and saw she has a really good variety of both workhorse standards and some luxury brands as well. When hubby wasn't sure if he would need 2 or 3 balls due to ambiguity in how the pattern requirements were described, she said if he bought 3 and didn't use the last one he could return it - that is very rare! I suspect he could make something from the third if he doesn't use it anyway but it was very kind of her to offer. She has a cute and very chill pup hanging out at the store with her and many samples to see how various yarns knit up. Honestly if I hadn't gone completely off the rails buying 3 sweater quantities at Alpaca & Fleece last month I would have bought a bunch for myself too when we were there. Next time!

I highly recommend and I most certainly will be signing up for another class.
