I got dip powder here and within a week SIX of my nails had broken. After three days I went back and got three nails fixed only for two more to break the next day. The price was cheaper than I usually pay for dip but still not at all worth the trouble. After removing the dip because i was fed up with them breaking i discovered my nail bed has been bruised from where the nail was pried off instead of soaked when i went in to get the broken ones fixed. I came here for a fill with gel and my friend got just normal gel. First of all, my fill was $55 dollars and started lifting 2 days after the fill - which can lead to fungus growing under the acrylic. One nail chipped 4 days after I got it. Then the lady cut me and I started bleeding and all she said was "Sorry did that hurt?" My friend got gel which started lifting and peeling off within the first week (she paid $38! for no design only color). Her lady was so rude to her and kept talking about us with my lady. Very disappointed. My daughter and I went here for pedicures and from the beginning the laday was not very nice. She basically washed my feet and legs. She didn't want to work on my problem areas on my heel and then when I requested it she was very rough and made the side of my heel near my ankle bleed which wasn't anywhere near the problem area. Let me start by saying that it could very well be the lady I had, however, my experience in this salon today was the worst I've ever experienced. I'm the kind of person who gets their nails done every two weeks. I like my hands and feet to look nice. I had told the woman who did my nails, she kind of chubby with curly bob & rose diamond necklace on, that I wanted my toe nails shorter. She cut my toe nails so short that she almost cut into my skin & when I commented on how it hurt I got a "haha". She commented on my eyebrows one to many times, & call me old-fashion but you don't insult your costumer by saying, "Oh you really need to get your eye brows done". At this point, I've mentally started deducting from her tip. She paints my toe nails & is annoyed by the fact I asked her to clean them. Now, moving to my manicure. I told her I wanted them shaped & not cut, what does she do? She gives me nubby nails. I'm not talking my nails are just short & I'm use to having them long. I'm talking, you can see more skin than nails. So let review; I'm annoyed about the many eye brow comments, my toes were cut, I had a messy paint job, nubby finger nails, & my thoughts as a costumer were not taken serious. As I go to pay at this point I don't even want to tip but I do. I tip a very very small amount that honestly bothered me leaving but I figured I would get my point across with this tip. NOPE. When my nail lady saw what I tipped her, she processed to not even wait for me to leave the salon but to make a big fuss/comment to her coworker with her boss not standing too far behind her. I've had this set for less than 2 weeks and have already had to get the middle finger on my right hand fixed (because the nail completely fell off a few days ago), and then the very next day my right pointer finger fell off, my right thumb nail broke off in the corner, and then my left thumb chipped in half. My "nail tech" was very rude, my pedicure chair was reclined back and she kept telling me to scoot up in a rude manner, I am 5 feet so its hard for me to scoot up when I can't recline the seat up, on top of that she gave me an attitude for not scooting up. They also don't use a fresh files or buffer with each client (which they should due to health reasons, its VERY UNSANITARY). When she rang me up for my total I asked her what the price for my gel pedicure was and she said "45, you wanted gel no?" in a rude way. Do not waste your money! I hadn't had my nails done in a year and I finally decided to treat myself. I just moved to VA and I found this nail salon because I tan right next door at Beach Bum Tanning. I got an acrylic full set with gel polish and this is the worst set I have EVER received. To start, my nails were never soaked and dead skin, hang nails were not removed. No attention was given to the cuticles either. I had nail extensions applied and there are large gaps between my nail and the fake nail where the glue did not adhere. I also asked for square shape, and these are crooked and each one looks different. Once the acrylic was applied, my nails were not buffed out so they are very "bubbly" and lopsided. I have had my nails done numerous times throughout my life and many many steps were missed here leading to a terrible outcome. To make things worst, the other nail technician spent her time gossiping about other clients and politics. Not a very relaxing environment at all. I found this place on yelp as I was in town for a game. I didn't have time to get my nails done during the week so I needed to get them done before I did anything here. I arrived at 8:55am to make sure I was one of the first people there being that I had a busy Saturday ahead of me. They didn't open up until a little after 9:00am. Another girl and I were the first ones there, we told the ladies there what we needed and she sat first being that she walked in before me. I waited and waited for someone to start on my nails but no one came to tell me they were ready for me. Another young lady walked in, told the ladies what she needed picked a color and they asked her was she ready to be helped. Another customer had to bring it to the ladies attention that I was there first. They then proceeded to ask me what did I need again and if I had an appointment. They did not ask anyone else if they had appointments only me. They then told me to sit and that a lady would be coming shortly. The young lady who came after me was already getting started on while I was still waiting. The lady get there and is on the phone the whole time while doing my nails. She would drill then stop to do something on her phone every time she started to do something on my nails she would take a phone break. In the middle of doing my nails she got up to do another customers nails who was maybe the 5th customer who came in. I was shocked that she would even do that being that I was there when they very first opened and was STILL There. I didn't get to get my toes done because they made me wait sooo long to get helped. I needed to get acrylic nails off and put on shellac. Once I get there, the first lady working with me did not even know what to do with my nails at all, so she starts asking her coworkers what to do and had to move me to another chair for someone else to do. 10 minutes later, I start getting my nails done by the owner, Anthony. He first asked me, "How do you want them taken off?" which confused me because he should know the best way, but he only asked because soaking them in acetone takes "too long" and they were "busy." So, he then grabs one of the FAKE NAIL TIPS which is used for acrylic nails to try and pry and shovel the material off my nail bed, despite me telling him that he was hurting me. I then proceed to tell him how to remove it based on what my nail place at home does. Not only did he not know how to remove acrylic, but he would go in the back to eat food (which he blew his nasty breath of me), pulled out his wad of cash from his pocket so he could figure out tips with an employee, and answered phone calls every 5 seconds even though there were multiple people who could have answered it too. By the time I got all my acrylics taken off, it had been 45 minutes and a nail was ripped. Fast forward to when I am going to pay, he charges me $10 extra for the removal. I said, "what is the extra charge for, you did not seem to know how to remove it since you asked me questions on how I wanted it off and used a fake nail to pry it off of me. Based on my experience with my nail salon at home, that isn't the way to do it and it shouldn't have taken that long." he then comes back and says "excuse me? do you know how long I have been doing this? I can't believe you're telling me how to do it..." and pretty much starts yelling at me in front of a store full of other customers. I did not want to deal with him anymore, so I ended up paying for the shellac and removal of acrylics. Moral of the story...DO NOT GO TO Lovely Nails & Spa in Harrisonburg off Reservoir Street. One of the Lovely Nails and Spa employees got an unsanitized bag for my usage and my 13-year-old sister got a cuticle clipper that was not even in a sanitized bag, Kimberly had it in a glass pencil holder. I asked the other employee if those tools where clean and she responded that not everyone is required to sanitize tools and some employees use alcohol to clean their tools.
