I spent the day getting lost, trying several different places to see if they had fresh local corn on the cob. I was so hungry for it and it would be the perfect addition to those five pounds of crab legs that I was cooking. I drove NE, W and south of me and all of the corn was from Georgia, I did end up buying a few ears at another place, which claimed it was local but the husks looked old. During my travels I saw a truck unloading tomatoes, cucumbers and fresh corn on the cob to a small wooden table along side the road and under a shade tree. I slammed on my brakes, pulled over and put my flashers on. Folks were quickly gathering around the small worn out table and each one asked, Is it local? Yes, it was just picked this morning in New Jersey, yay! I bought one dozen ears, why? For heavens sake what in the world will I do with fifteen ears of corn! It truly is fresh and so crunchy and sweet and I am anxious to cook more up tonight and tomorrow night and the next night... So, why did I still need to find Lou's Farm Mart when I had more than enough corn? Because I have been reading their ads for years in the weekly Clipper magazine and have always been amazed at the deals they are offering. After four or five people gave me wrong directions ( I sometimes think they do that as a joke ) I found an honest face and in dismay I said could you please tell me how to get to Lou's. What a good Samaritan, he had me there in two minutes flat! The building used to be an old diner, you know all shiny metal with the big windows along the front, of which they added on to big time. The outside holds flowering plants, very healthy and established at extremely low prices. I bought a large tomato plant that already has four good sized green tomatoes on it for $1.59! I also bought two flats of annuals for the large side bed that I am still working on, $15.00 plus I had a coupon for $5.00 off! Inside you will find a very friendly and down to earth staff who actually understands we are keeping them alive, so helpful too. The huge produce area carries it all at unbelievable prices, I bought a whole seedless watermelon for five bucks, two large cantaloupes for $1.50 each, a large bag of sweet Vidalia onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and more. The large Georgia peaches that were advertised at $1.00 per pound, not only in the clipper but on their sign out front was priced at $1.59 per pound inside, which I brought to their attention and they were more than happy to adjust the price, although I decided to pass after seeing all of the fruit flies hanging around and they were anything but large and ripe. They have a nice sized market with shelves of pantry items and snacks and a large deli with all kinds of homemade salads and desserts, like bread pudding, the only thing that I bought at the deli was a pound of shrimp salad at $6.99 per pound with nice sized shrimp. A local bakery supplies their rolls, bagels and loaves of bread and they have a bakery section with fruit pies, cookies and cakes. One of the coupons was for a free dozen XL eggs, which I took them up on and two family sized boxes of Snyder's hard pretzels, two for three bucks. They have daily lunch specials of a hoagie, a bag of chips and a soda for under four dollars and they were selling them like hot cakes, if you are not interested in the daily specials they have a nice sized take out deli menu. Discounted prices and you don't have to buy in bulk. They carry their own line of fruit butters, jams, marinades and salad dressings. Really easy to find, once you realize where it is and well worth the trip! Thank heavens their corn was from Georgia, although once Shady Brook Farms has it available then so will they. I was loaded up with all of my goods and helped to the car with my flowers and even given a free six pack of very healthy petunias. I'm off from work today and trying to decide whether it will be a tomato and mayo sandwich or a shrimp salad one for lunch...

I've been shopping at Lou's since I was a kid. They have the freshest produce, delicious deli products and fresh baked desserts. The store always smells so good and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Good solid deli located in a strip mall next to a big Wawa (imagine that)…read more The inside is spacious with just about every chip brand and style you could want. Lots of drink coolers, bread, snacks, desserts, condiments and some other grocery items. Their sandwich rolls are Amoroso. There is a long back area for sandwich prep and an army of people there to take your order. On my two lunch trips I encountered one helpful guy and another that seemed annoyed that I asked about their popular menu items. (He did eventually come through with a great recommendation). First sandwich was a "signature hoagie" The Cornaglia - Genoa Salami, Black Pepper Ham, Capicola, Prosciutto, Imported Provolone and Red Peppers for $10. You can switch the red peppers to long hots and bread to a seeded roll. The sandwich was sizable and average. The amount of meat was good and the red peppers were good, but a bit bland. The Provo needed to be more sharp to raise this sandwich up a tier. It's a great price for the portion. Second round I went with a Chicken Caesar Wrap - grilled chicken breast, romaine lettuce, shredded cheddar, Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing. $9.50. It held together well and was delicious. Great balance of flavors, chicken was seasoned perfectly. As far as wraps go it was a winner for me. The seating area is pretty large. I saw plenty of locals, police, union guys, nurses etc. Checkout staff was nice and thankful for the business. Reen's is the kind of neighborhood deli everyone should have. Thanks guys!

I couldn't get the idea of some very simple comfort food out of my head: tuna salad sandwich, white bread, lettuce, nothing else. That's exactly what they made for me. Everything fresh and delicious, exactly how I ordered. It was ready on time, quick 30 second pickup. Tons of parking on the street along both sides of the building. There's a gigantic sports field across the street and there's parking all along there as well. Definitely would return. Probably would shop for snacks there too; seemed like they had a good selection.

Anyways it's been quite awhile since I've had Neli's because I'm currently working remotely and don't really come over that way on my general day-to-day, but they were just as good as I remember. Overall breakfast sandies are solid. Nothing spectacular, but reliably solid. The fry the eggs for their sandwiches versus scramble, which is great unless you get one that's the stringy end. Like I said, their consistency and reliability is moreso what I enjoy about this place versus overall pizzazz. One thing I will note though, is that a couple of their prices on the menu STILL don't match what they actually charge you, which is fine, I understand the prices are subject to change without notice, but I'm not kidding when I tell you I had brought this to their attention WEEKLY for about a year, and never saw any difference via print. There's no way they didn't order new menus within a year's time, and as it sits right now, it's been 3 years, so just keep that in mind. They also have zayada's spicy hot pickles in the frog as well as Stock's pound cakes which is a PLUS.

I walked out with soppressata from the Bronx - the type you'd see hanging in an old school deli. Also some Buffalo mozzarella, Aged prosciutto sliced nice and thin, house made sausage, Olive oil that was Sicilian and not Tuscan (but highly recommended by the deli guy), some house made ravioli, manicotti and stuffed shells, marinara and vodka sauce, impulse buy lamb chops and an Italian sub. Of course I also got the parmigano reggiano, asiago, AND they have scamorza cheese AKA "scamutz!" If you've never heard of scamutz, it's like a cross between mozzarella and provolone. There's a bar in hazleton, PA that makes pizza with it. Very good. Seems somewhat hard to find in my part of NJ but maybe I don't look hard enough. Only thing I forgot was bread. Hey I'm a 'medigan - forgive me. If you aren't sure what's good, just ask them. Staff is very kind and helpful. We arrived around 10am and there was already a bunch of people waiting for orders- so a very good sign is that this shop brings in customers. The menu was huge and up on the wall. I was surprised to see how inexpensive the sandwiches were and was happy to see they also sold a lot of the little Debbie snacks like nutty buddy that I grew up on. They had a nice selection of sodas, chocolate milk and orange juice to choose from and chips, even Rap chips- which I think are their version of Homies, or HomeGirls that were chips in the 90's. (Showing my age). So I ordered the French toast with ham for my daughter and got scrambled eggs, rye toast and sausage. Which also came with home fries. It wasn't too much of a wait although they were receiving a lot of orders on the phone and it was getting more crowded as I stood there waiting. It smelled heavenly in there and I couldn't wait to try my meal. I also got some chocolate milk and little debbies, and tasty kakes for me and my daughter.
