My family and I went to Dr Enrique for decades but he is now retired and his practice closed. I began seeing Dr Enrique in my 20's and I am now in my 60's. Having said that, his bed side manner is direct and not for everyone, but I always appreciated his no- nonsense approach to the truth. Regardless, the man was brilliant at treating me and my family. There was never an ailment or medical condition he did not diagnose 1st or correctly for me, (and I have had many severe upper respiratory issues; asthma; cardio vascular disease, diabetes, odd allergies no one could diagnose or treat; and Dr Enrique even prescribed preventive actions to prevent severe symptoms during peak allergy periods and during cold & flu seasons ! Over the years I have passed these techniques/ strategies to others and have helped Dr Enrique create his own sample community of healthier people battling my same issues in challenging environments. where to start? the front desk girl told me she doesn't weigh the patients because girls don't tell each other their weight. I'm all for not weighing myself, but my doctor is the one person who should know this. they never had me fill out my medical history. the same girl told me information about another patient who was there at the same time! I have been billed twice for a full visit showing I had no insurance, when I do, and have given it to them every time I was there. I called and asked for a refill, they argued with me that I never had that medication. I have, and John Muir filled it no problem. I left a message asking for Dr Enrique to call me so I could tell him the above, I have never gotten a call back. Stay away!!! read more

I have tried to contact this irresponsible doctor for weeks by all possible means. I went to him because the USCIS website recommends him as a certified immigration doctor. My family and I went with him to get the medical tests required by immigration. He told us clearly that the cost of the tests would also cover the laboratory expenses, but that the necessary vaccines would be on our account. We accepted and paid the money he required. Three months later I received the bills from the private laboratory at my house charging me an exaggerated amount of money. The doctor closed his clinic and there is no way to contact him to demand that he take responsibility. It is worth mentioning that my Kaiser insurance does not cover these tests. read more

I went to see this doctor because I needed a physical exam (TB test, blood test...) The minute I came in, they handed me some papers to fill (name, address, NO ALLERGIES OR MEDICAL HISTORY) and request the immediate payment. I walked into the room and the girl there was nice. Minutes later the doctor came in because he was the one that had to take my blood test... Oh boy! MOST PAINFUL blood test ever. This doctor does not know how to do it. I got bruises in my arms. If I could give 0 stars I would. He is very mean and angry. He doesn't listen when you are trying to tell him what is wrong with you, he just makes his own assumption and in my case gave me a bunch of prescriptions for HBP and cholestoral. When I just asked what these pills were and what the were for he snapped at me. Told me that if I didn't like what he was saying to "GET OUT and find another DR". Believe me, I was going to do that anyway. He is terrible...I also would not recommend this DR to anyone. I did report him to my medical provider, but they haven't done anything. read more

Do not go see this doctor! He does not listen to his patients and does not care at all. My mom could have died because of his negligence. She complained to him several times about her shortness of breath. And all he gave her was Vitamin D. My mom couldn't even sleep die to her symptoms so we finally we took her to another dr who did several tests. Dr Enrique never bothered to order blood work or pulmonary tests. I never feel the need to review anything and mostly just use yelp to read other people's reviews, but this doctor is so terrible, I feel the need to review him as a warning to others. Started going here this past year, his bedside manner is terrible, but I thought I'd give him a shot anyway. I have terrible heart burn and wanted a prilosec prescription (history of stomach ulcers etc). Three days and $450 of tests later, he STILL won't write me a prescription for heart burn meds. I'm not looking for narcotics here - just something to help with heart burn. In addition, the office never asked for a co-pay and during one of my MANY follow up visits, his assistant asks for $80 or else I can't be seen. huh?? Ok...paid it, shook it off and moved on. I found out I have West Nile virus this week (because I tried donating blood) and am exhibiting some of the symptoms. I am really worn down and my school suggested going to the ER. I thought I should just go see my doctor. He refuses to run any tests and sent me home. I now have to go to the hospital. Don't worry, that's the last time I go there. I watched this doctor's john muir video and thought he was the right doctor for me and my husband. We both made our appts at the same time and the first thing I noticed was the lobby of office. just got a odd vibe about it. also, it was pretty dang cold. it was a hot day but it was freezing inside. I hoped in the exam room it would be a tad warmer. it wasn't. my husband was even cold and he is NEVER EVER cold. that made me think. i went online to find some reviews and found yelp reviews. i noticed some reviewers mentioned they were told by dr. louis that they had high blood pressure. I was told that as well. I have never ever had high or low blood pressure. always had great blood pressure. Was one of the only doctors in Antioch to have an open calendar all week..and I can see why. You walk in and obviously the waiting room is very clean. The receptionist greeted me and handed me paperwork - there was no questions in regards to medical history, just payment information (BTW, he only takes cash or check). I got into the examination room (had sciatic nerve issues and wanted a check-up) and the doctor walked in. Immediately he began bickering, demanding I tell him what my cholesterol numbers were because according to his machine, I had high blood pressure. I did not know my cholesterol number nor what my blood pressure was previously (although they were both fine before because I was told so by my previous doctors of 4 years)....he did not like this and began talking smack about my doctors, criticizing me and being very hostile. He was condescending to me, made me feel like an idiot, and then did not even address my chief issue. He cussed me out and said my doctors had been defrauding me. All I can say is that I was shocked at his demeanor, his hostility, and unprofessionalism. Ever have a doctor yell and cuss at you? Yeah, if thats what you want, see Dr. Louis. Canceling my follow up appointment and sending him a strongly worded letter. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to ANYONE. Do yourself a favor and RUN! I went to a chiropractor a few days later and he informed me that I had a ruptured disk. One office visit and the pain was minimized. I been seeing Dr. Rick Junnila ever since for my pain issue. Dr. Louis did not even touch me. He also billed my insurance company for a full physical exam, when all he did was yell at me and cuss me out (literally). STAY AWAY. I just moved out here and decided to look for a doctor to get current on my physical. I picked "Dr." Enrique from the Sutter website because he looked very qualified. Well, I made an appointment and went in. The receptionist was nice, once I saw the "Dr." he immediately came at me with an attitude. He started telling me my blood pressure was dangerously high, over the course of his exam he told me that I have asthma, high blood pressure, probably diabetes, and a hernia that I'll need to see a surgeon about. Wow!! I saw him on a Friday, by Sunday my "hernia" was hurting more so I went into urgent care who bounced me to the ER....Good news, no hernia! Bad news, now I've got $6000 worth of NEEDLESS medical bills to deal with. I followed up the next week with a different Dr. at the Sutter Medical Center in Antioch. She gave me some blood tests to run and scheduled a physical. After all was said and done, I don't have asthma, I don't have high blood pressure, I don't have a hernia. I'm a pretty normal guy with seasonal allergies and a few sore muscles. Long story short, my experience was just shy of me sending this to the State medical board. If I could give him 0 stars I would!! The only good thing this guy is a short wait for appointments less than a week. Its obvous why....No one wants to see him. This was the biggest waste of time with a Doctor I have ever had!. I have seen him before and disregarded the bad reviews Ive read and lack of bedside manner with the excuse that i was rarely sick and could deal with a bit of lack of social skills. However after this last visit I will be finding a new primary Doctor. Not only was Dr. Enrique's staff specifically Monica; uninformed untrained and unable to provide me with any information she was rude and tried to humiliate me. I just happened to be on line searching for a specialist on-line for my daughter since we just changed insurance and by coincidence I came upon this page of reviews for my doctor of 28 years, Dr. Louis Enrique. I started to read the plethora of horrible reviews regarding him and I was absolutely shocked! Then I came upon the only positive 5 star review of him that described him exactly as I would have; and I thought, "Did I write this review 4 years ago?! This is the doctor I know; the doctor who has never failed me, or any of my kids who are also now adults!" Dr. Enrique began treating me in my late 20's. I had been seeing an Allergist, a Dermatologist, and an Internist for seasonal allergies that became food allergies and ultimately a very weakened respiratory system where I was susceptible to illness. This was an occupational hazard while having an occupation that demanded travel. However, when I became ill, I would immediately get bronchitis, or pneumonia due to my medical history. I was either ill at work, or absent, and I also had 2 little girls to provide for as a single mother. NO OTHER DOCTOR UNDERSTOOD MY CASE BUT DR. ENRIQUE. Within weeks of becoming his patient, he understood what was happening with my body and directed me to an action regiment and medication that I actually believed he was crazy to have me follow. However, within that window of time, I stopped going to all 3 of my other doctors. All of my Physical and cosmetic symptoms had disappeared. I was breathing freely, I felt and looked great; for the first time in a decade! Wait! Dr. Enrique wasn't done with me yet...He prescribed some other preventative action plan that I actually refused to do at first. He told me it would help my immune system become stronger and I would not get sick as often. He also told me when allergy season came around next year, I would not have as many symptoms. I didn't follow his recommendations in the first year he recommended them. However, I did what he told me to do the second year. Wow! where I used to get sick 6-8 times per year, I now MAYBE get sick 1-2 times per year. (And that is a really aggressive number.) Oh, and allergy season? FUGET ABOUT IT! I used to stay indoors from March through the end of May yearly as my allergies were soo horrible! Now you can catch me anywhere BUT indoors during the Spring! My asthma is well controlled and COPD? What does that stand for again??!! I recommend anyone I can to Dr. Enrique and I'm still his patient from 1991 - 2019! Is he direct, has no filter and can be perceived as a jerk sometimes? Yup. But when someone is telling you that you're in denial, are not taking care of yourself and you'd better do something about it or die, how do you do that nicely? If you want a real doctor and not a friend - go see Dr. Enrique. I'll take cure me so I can live - give it to me straight and keep your BS at home! Thank you! read more

If there was a chance to give ZERO stars I would, this quack isn't worth one star. I came to his office when my other Dr. was out of town. I waited about 30-40 minutes in the waiting room, then it was time to see the Dr, my visit was for kidney stones that I was getting treated for by my previous Dr. I was in alot of pain and was requesting a check up and a refill of my pain meds. Immediately this poor excuse for a physician began an angry triad of how I was just faking pain for the pain killers I was so blown back by his response, when He clearly had my medical record and lab tests to prove I was not just "faking it". I had only refilled my rx once. He basically yelled at me and said more cruel things about my Dr. Ive had this Dr for more than 6 years!!! The whole appt was him criticizing me and my previous Dr. I felt so terrible after leaving this off ice I sat in my car and cried. He didn't even do the exam just sat there and was extremely unprofessional and charged my insurance for services that were never preformed. He is absolutely a terrible physician. Is this man a real doctor? I finally worked up the courage to see a doctor about some symptoms I was having and went with the first one who answered the phone. Everything seemed normal at first but after the "doctor" came in the room nothing was normal. His attitude immediately made me uncomfortable. He had zero interest in me or my symptoms. In fact, he seemed angry that I was even there. I eventually mentioned that Diabetes ran in my family so he quickly typed up a lab order for diabetes screening and more or less pushed me out the door. After a week without a response I finally called the office and was told the results and that the "doctor" wasn't concerned. That's it! I'm still struggling to make sense of the whole experience. Dr. Enrique has been my physician for decades now. From my 20's to now in my 50's. Whatever treatment he has prescribed for me has been correct; from skin rash and allergies to asthma and heart disease. I have never been more healthy nor fit for my busy and active lifestyle. I'll admit, there have been sometimes that I will not abide by his recommendations because I was lazy or did not agree. However, when I finally gave in and did it his way, I felt so much better, and my quality of life was richer and happier! Interestingly, Dr. Enrique is a master chemist. He does treat my ailments medicinally, however, he has the talent and knowledge to ensure that my body chemistry is perfectly balanced at all times. This is to ensure I am at my best always! He is not the most warm and fuzzy guy to most, and he is somewhat arrogant in his delivery of his assessments at times, but if feeling better, getting better, and being better is a priority over bedside manner, this is the guy to see! read more

this doctor is a straight forward person who is highly competent, caring and very smart. my previous 'nice doctor' negligent did not correctly treat my blood pressure and cholesterol. dr. enrique did my labs and showed me my sugar was high, cholesterol and suffered kidney damage due to untreated hight blood pressure. i credit him for saving me from having a stroke and heart attack. if you folks who write so negative are afraid of having a thorough doctor look at you, stay home and play with your self.
