Decided to try Louies. We ordered an italian sub and a medium pepperoni pizza. The sub was just horrible. Very little meat, the onions were chopped raw onions, and mostly bread. The pizza was just ok. Wont go back. read more

this is a spot that is nice family run business that people from this area group up on and love. that being said, I dont think I know anyone who is not from this area that prefers this pizza. especially if your from cleveland or akron areas. i believe its cash only and has very limited hours. read more

My favorite pizza in Newark. I have been eating Louie's pizza for over 20 years. I live in Chicago and love Lou Malnati's but when I go to Ohio my mind says, Get pizza from Louie's. I have never had a slice that wasn't 5 stars - how their quality is always perfect is beyond me. I love their "All the way" pizza and pepperoni and whatever. Seeing the photos makes me miss them already - once a week is not enough for me to get a pie from Louie's. As much as I like a deep dish I would still choose Louie's over any other pizza I have had because the quality is so consistent and the results are just delicious. read more

i always go to louies when i go back to newark. Legendary subs and great pizza. reminds me when i was a kid. very excellent food.

This is my fav pizza joint in Newark, the sauce is tangy,I always tell em extra sauce, not cuz they are stingy with it, I just love it that much lol. The crust is a medium hand tossed style. They are generous with the toppings.They even cut the pizza different than most places,one vertical cut in the middle and a bunch of horizontal cuts so its like perfect bite size strips. My mom use to get Christi's all the time until I introduced her to Louie's, now she is hooked. They do not accept credit/debit cards so cash or check only-(they are old school and I love it), they don't deliver,you cant dine in, its carry out only, but despite that I still give 5 stars, one bite and you will understand. I usually get a large pepperoni and sausage. I have been wanting to try their subs for years but the pizza is so darn good I cant bring myself to deny the pizza cravings lol. It is ran by older folks (est. 1960) and I take comfort in that...nothing against young people....but ya know what I mean :) If you have not tried Louie's yet do your taste buds a favor , they will thank you. Not sure why there are so many raving reviews. Taste wise, there was nothing special about this pizza, it was edible and that was about it. I was actually upset when I found out how much my husband spent on it. If it were half the price, it might be worth it. We won't be ordering here again. read more
