It is a quiet place with almost everything you need. Post Office. Pharmacy. Save-On Food grocery store, RONA for hardware and home improvement. Fabricland. Pet shop. Several restaurants, Starbucks, Menchies yogurt, banking services (TD and BMO), nail salon, Burger King and more. Now that I know Save-On is here, I have another option besides Safeway from the skytrain station. I like how compact the square is. It is small but it makes it easy to walk from shop to shop. You do not have to traverse a huge parking lot just to get across. It reminds me of Newport Village in Port Moody. I find myself a new place to chill on weekends.

TD Bank and BCAA are here too, with a few fast food chains and a Greek restaurant. There is also a Starbucks. There are barber shop, nail place and some medical offices. some shopping trips are about getting in and getting out, but one can easily spend hours at park…read moreroyal. what makes park royal unique is that it's actually two shopping areas, north and south, connected by pedestrian walkways and a short drive. while both sides have plenty of shops, i'm almost always at park royal south. it feels brighter, more modern, and has a great mix of fashion, home, and lifestyle stores. my usual stops include zara, simons, winners, h&m, and osaka supermarket. there's also a cineplex on the south side. wish there was a uniqlo though. just outside the main mall is the village, which has more of an open air shopping feel. you'll find stores like home depot, anthropologie, and michaels, along with whole foods, starbucks, restaurants, and cafés. it's easy to turn a quick shopping trip into a full day affair. one of the things i enjoy most about park royal is that it feels less hectic than some of the larger malls around metro vancouver. the wide walkways, natural light, and open air sections create a more relaxed atmosphere, making it easy to take your time instead of feeling rushed from store to store. parking is plentiful and free, which makes it an easy choice when you want to shop without the usual mall hassle. whether you're picking up everyday essentials, looking for a little retail therapy, or simply need somewhere to spend a rainy afternoon, park royal is my favourite shopping destination on the north shore. often when i go, "i'm just looking," but we all know how that usually ends. maybe that's just part of the park royal experience.

stopped in at city square shopping centre to meet up with a friend for dim sum near city hall, and…read morehonestly, it's such an underrated little spot. on the busy intersection of 12th and cambie, this place has a bit of everything, anchor stores like dollarama, daiso, and sungiven foods, plus a ton of smaller shops that give it a cozy, local vibe. the glass atrium makes it feel bright and airy even on gloomy vancouver days. there's a food court with solid options, kin's market, and a few wellness spots. there's also hot yoga, fitness world, dental, a florist, salon, and spa, seriously, it's like a mini community hub. parking was super easy, two free hours if you validate with a retailer (over $5), and it's super convenient being steps away from the cambie canada line station. not your huge flashy mall, but it's got charm, convenience, and a lot of what you may need in one spot.

You MUST validate your parking at Sungiven Foods for 2-hour free parking, all other stores only validate for 1.5 hours - and I learned this the hard way. It was my first time driving to City Square, and I saw the sign in the parkade that read "Enjoy 2 hours free parking with purchase". I went to Dollarama first, and had my ticket validated there. I shopped around, and Sungiven Foods was one of my last stops before returning to my car. As I was driving out of the parkade, I was surprised that there was an overdue balance of $4.25 at the gate, even though I was in City Square for less than 2 hours (I had a timer on my phone). I called parking assistance and they sent Chandani to deal with the issue. She did not want to listen to my situation and was very rude and unhelpful. She kept insisting I pay for the ticket or go back upstairs to revalidate, and then walked away. I understand she may not have any authority to authorize anything or override the ticket, but she did not bother to listen or try to get help. I checked my timer, and saw that I was cutting it very close to 2 hours, so if I had re-parked my car and went back upstairs to revalidate, I would definitely go over the 2-hour limit. I paid the ticket and checked the website when I got home, and I understand that the City Square regulations states: -90 minutes FREE parking with a minimum $5.00 purchase from City Square retailers. -One retailer stamp per parking ticket allowed. Please bring your parking ticket along with you to the retailer for validation. I am upset because there was no indication (either on the website on signage posted in the mall or parkade) that the retailer stamp HAD to be from Sungiven Foods specifically (and be validated there first) in order to qualify for 2-hour free parking (instead of 90 min). Chandani also gave me the wrong information, and I would not have been able to re-validate at Sungiven foods anyways if I went back upstairs, as only one retailer stamp per parking ticket is allowed (as per the website). I did email the admin at City Square as well with my concerns over the signage, and asked for a possible refund. Chasity from Reception & Administration directed me to Precise Parklink in regards to the ticket refund. I didn't bother contacting Precise Parklink because on paper, I did exceed the 1.5 hour parking limit, but the reason for this is because of the misleading and unclear signage in my opinion.

One of the newer outdoor malls in Richmond…read more Parking is plentiful in the nice huge lots. So beautiful. The anchor tenant for this complex is Walmart on the E side. There are a pile of restaurants and other businesses in the W half. Special mention goes to the secret hidden park area above the NE parking lot. I had no idea it existed until my friend pointed it out. It can't be seen from the lot itself. From the N side (where there are a bunch of lowrise condos) however, it just looks like a regular park. It's hard to imagine that there's a parking lot underneath this thing when sitting on the grass.

In fact, the multi year transformation that its currently undergoing makes it less of a traditional mall and more of a mini city that has spawned into a mixed-use commercial district. Their use of natural lighting all throughout the space makes it an ideal place for a photo in any corner. In addition to the space, many stores have stepped in with a good number that are high-end to appease all of the new money coming into the city of Richmond. It has become a leisurely destination for families and teenagers as folks roam the mall from corner to corner. One of the most significant transformations has been their food court, which has been dubbed the DiningTERRACE and features a number of food and drink spots. The only downside has been the mediocrity of most spots, which has plenty of room for improvement. Parking is also a mess, especially during the weekend. Folks are constantly competing for space and camping out has become a necessity during their busiest times. As many skyscrapers have been built nearby and it's proximity to the metro rail, this place will only serve to be busier as time goes on. ____________ (#1) 18 years has flown by.
