This is defo the place to come to enjoy a tipple after wondering Killiney Hill or Vico Road/Coast Road! Full bar along with very reasonably priced wines available by the glass or the bottle; their food menu is very casual and good price tag. There is 2 TV screens for those into the sport, at the time I was there... They had GAA on one, football on the other. Inside is very clean and well spaced out, not at all what I expected from the outside. This place would suit both local as well as a great spot for tourists, the friendly staff make it definitely an Irish warm welcome. The teeny tiny town was about a mile away and had a couple pubs which was surprising considering most towns in Ireland have the streets dotted with pubs. The hotel and locals said go to The Magpie and we did and had a great meal. The portions were humongous and we ordered way too much food. Of course we had to try the local version of the seafood chowder which did not disappoint as it was loaded with tons of seafood. We also got a seafood linguine. The food was delicious, the gravy was a particular favourite across the table, as was the chocolate brownie. The kids ate really well, I liked the addition of green veg to the meals which you dont get in many restaurants. The kids loved being able to go out the back on such a gorgeous day. The pub was busy which only added to the atmosphere and the lads were thrilled with the football on in the background. On a special day for my son, we couldn't have been happier.
