I sooo regret walking into this place. I came in to get my rose tattoos colored in because I'm getting married and wanted a vibrant colorful tattoo. The first time Frank worked on me and it looked good UNTIL I unwrapped my tattoo and saw that Frank had colored outside of the lines of my roses(who does that) I came in a week later thinking that I was going to get it fixed somehow by Bob..... why did I do that. Instead of fixing the 2 places Frank has colored outside of he puts black shading all around the roses so now I look like I have a black hole with some red in the middle of my chest. I'm sooo mad I just hope that my wedding photographer can remove my tattoo on the pictures. read more

It's hard to review a tattoo shop, because at the end of the day, it's not really the shop you're reviewing, it's the ink. Having said that, this review is really for Jasmine Morrell, who tattooed me this past Saturday, but I'll briefly touch on the shop. I've been to five different tattoo shops now, all very different, but all the same if you know what I mean. Universal Mind is extremely small for a tattoo shop, but it was also very clean, bright, not a dive in any sense. They has a waiting couch with some good ink magazines and some good punk rock on in the background. That's it for the shop. As far as Jasmine is concerned, she was terrific! Jasmine had been running a Groupon special for her work (I got two hours for $115 bucks, a steal!) and I decided, 'what the hell.' I had been wanting a Philadelphia Union/Sons of Ben tattoo for a couple of years now and it was finally time. I asked Jasmine through email if she would be kind enough to design something for me. Well, she did and the design she came up with was absolutely awesome! When it came time to tattoo at the shop, we went over questions and concerns about the design. She was extremely honest with her opinions on how it should be done and I agreed. We went ahead, and three hours later, I had my dream tattoo. Now during the process, I had to lay on my side the whole time, something I had never had to do. I've had multiple surgeries on my ankle and leg, as well as some shoulder issues so it wasn't the best feeling along with getting a tattoo (which don't hurt). However, Jasmine made sure that I was comfortable, chatting me up during the process to take my mind off of it. She was a constant pro. I have to say that from here on out, Jasmine is going to be my go-to artist. I highly recommend her to anyone thinking about getting new ink. read more

Louder Than Bombs Tattoo - My tattoo from Jasmine T Morrell at UMD Tattoo - Piercing Near Me - Cheltenham, Pennsylvania

Came here in March as a walk-in to get a cartilage piercing. The dude piercing me did a great job lining it up so that it was perfectly symmetrical to the one I already had. He gave me a disclaimer that he didn't have any cartilage jewelry on hand, though, so we settled on a flat back stud. The healing process was a lot longer than usual and my ear remained swollen and red for about 7 months, despite regularly cleaning. I eventually changed the jewelry to a titanium barbell and the swelling and redness disappeared within 2 days. Not sure if it was the flat back affecting cleaning or if it was the material of the jewelry, but definitely book an appointment when coming here. It would have been nice to have a few more jewelry options. read more

I brought my daughter into the shop to get her bellybutton pierced. This should have been simple, but it was proved to be much harder than it should have. The pierced pierced the middle of my daughters stomach, which she then had to take out and it bruised terribly. We were never refunded. The piercer never wore gloves, didn't give her a warning, and he didn't mark the piercing. read more

I received a tattoo from SEAN ROCHE (the owner) in November of 2018. Had never been to the shop but my dear retired friend's son had gone to Sean before for work. Her and I were going to get matching tattoos and she felt confident in choosing this spot since her son went here before. Not only did I have a BAD reaction to the quality of ink (generally low quality ink contains plastics that can flare up days, months, even years later). Every few days since I got this tattoo, it flares up. I have been getting tattooed for 15 years, have never had a reaction to ink. The POOR QUALITY of ink (need steroids for the tattoo), as well as the fact that he charged $150 for a tattoo design i brought in, which he COPIED and then quoted us the price AFTER the tattoo.. $150 each! He took advantage of both me and my older friend. it gets worse... Sean claims he never gave me this tattoo and has tried to gaslight me to save face in his business. I have both copies of my bank statement which show LTB LLC as receiving a $150.00 payment in November of 2018. Sean refuses to help me with this. He took advantage of us, charged us astronomically for a really poorly done copy image tattoo that we brought him, and the quality of the ink, despite having at least 50 other tattoos myself, causes me great issues dermatologically. Please stay away. The owner refuses to take responsibility for his mistakes and I am out money and now have a health issue that bothers me a year or so later from this. And he will not help me rectify this at all. Really awful how I've been treated. read more

Jasmine is super talented and professional and smart and kind and we love her and her work. as for the shop itself, there is nothing particularly remarkable about it - it's just a tattoo shop in a strip mall. but Jasmine is a jewel and wealth of talent. read more

I accidentally ended up in your shop last year while looking to get a tattoo for my granddaughter and myself... Past did such an amazing job that I went back 7 or 8 times this year alone and I'm not done yet! I have brought family and friends and even recommended the shop to total strangers that have commented on my art. I have had nothing but EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCES at Louder than Bombs and would even think about going anywhere else! The people complaining about the sticker have no idea how that works... the shop DOES NOT post them anywhere HAPPY CLIENTS DO. I myself have handed out dozens of them in my area. That is in NO WAY the shops responsibility and they shouldn't be be held responsible for where people put them. The shop is always immaculate and I KNOW they would never disrespect the neighborhood. read more

I love this place so much! Sean has done all 3 of my tattoos and he really knows what he's doing! The whole vibe of the shop is awesome too. The staff is so flexible and super nice and welcoming. Sean R. has done all but 5 of my tattoos. He's like family and always makes sure I am comfortable and happy. He works with you and gets so into the project that it makes you feel safe that he's the person putting a work of art on your body forver. He is the kindest guy and his work is phenomenal. I will never go to another artist and the fact that he just bought this shop is great. The staff is all super friendly and answers any questions you have. I've gone to Sean (the owner) for tattoos both before he opened Louder Than Bombs, and after. Over 50% of the tattoos on my body are from him or his shop. He and his team are very friendly, and amazing artists. They do a fantastic job and ensure that you are nothing but comfortable. I have had several friends go get tattoos at his shop after seeing my pieces and hearing me rave about how I always end up going back for more. I have since moved many states away, but one of my first things on my To-Do list for when I go back to visit Philadelphia is to go back to Louder Than Bombs and get a new killer piece! I've been to many tattoo shops in various states, and in my honest opinion, LTB is one of the cleanest ones I have seen, on top of having a really cool and eclectic atmosphere.
