After she was under the dryer, I asked how long it would take to finish, and Courtney estimated about 20 minutes. I decided to step out for a quick coffee. While I was away, my daughter called to let me know that Courtney had mentioned any additional styling would incur extra costs. I instructed her to wait for my return before making any decisions. When I arrived, Courtney said any extra styling would start at $100. I checked the service description and told her that coiling or raking the hair and diffusion or hair dryer were included for $30. Additionally, I added a conditioning and protein treatment. After that, she agreed and attempted to complete the job. Courtney informed me that the salon only had mousse available for styling. I expressed my concern about whether that would be sufficient for coiling, and she assured me it would be. Courtney began styling my daughter's hair but paused for about 15 minutes to address another customer. She mentioned that removing the heat damage from my daughter's hair would result in a shorter style, and that sometimes heat-damaged hair can revert to a curly state. Unfortunately, the final result lacked definition. The damage looked worse, and my daughter's hair was damp and puffy at the roots. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the outcome. Courtney explained that diffusion doesn't fully dry hair and suggested using gel for better definition, but the salon did not carry any. She also offered to use curling rods on the heat-damaged hair at the front and to place her under the dryer. Courtney proposed a $20 discount after consulting with Brittany over the phone in the back of the salon. She stated that I would need to get the gel myself so she could correct the style. We left to get the gel and decided against the corrections due to time constraints. I returned and requested to speak with Brittany or pay $30 until I could discuss the situation with her. Courtney claimed Brittany was unavailable and threatened to call the police if I left without paying. Ultimately, I paid the $60 and canceled my upcoming appointment with Brittany. I sent photos showing my daughter's hair before and after we attempted to fix it at home. I do not intend to return to the salon for future appointments.

Upon arriving I was greeted by her assistant which is who did the braid down, which is the foundation of a sew in. The braids were way too big in my opinion. I am not trying to be rude, but the young lady braiding my hair had a bad odor, in which another patron that mentioned outlo. I sat and waited 30 mins for the actual stylist , Brittney, to complete the install. She sewed my hair in and was distracted the entire time. She was on the phone pausing to text/answer calls and working with a contractor that was there in person. When my hair was finished, I told her I did not like it as I could see the weft of the hair. She told me she could change how the top weft was sewn in and she did, which still didn't help. Neither of us had time in our schedule that day, So she told me I could come back if I really couldn't make it work. The next morning I let her know I was uncomfortable with the hair and would like it taken down as offered and redone as a basic sew in. We exchanged texts back and forth and ultimately I was unhappy and requested for the style to be taken down. I was rescheduled for today for 12:30. As I was on the way I received a text asking to be pushed back 45 min later at 1:15. I arrived only to find out that she was having her nails done. I could tell she was running short on time based on her phone conversation telling someone she would let them know how she is doing on time. During the appointment she was on her laptop and phone handling whatever business. A few times strands of my hair were pulled and I let her know which seemed to irritate her but the last appointment, I kept quiet and just dealt with it. Which left sores in my scalp. She only took out the front of my hair and I stopped her and informed her I was expecting a take down a reinstall. She said she was confused and we never talked about it. I then showed her the texts. She then said she didn't have time to do that and next time she wouldn't charge me for the take down and would discount the sew in. I said ok. She still was preoccupied during this interaction and said she would text me a few openings she had once she was done on the phone. I said ok and left only to receive a text stating that I would be refunded $101 and would no longer be serviced in the future. Which is fine because I had no intention on returning. I was never rude or disrespectful. I mean I appreciate the refund but the time wasted is irreplaceable. Her suite is dirty and unorganized and the cleaning products used are way too strong. She seems like a nice person but maybe needs an assistant.

Here is why: 1) I respect any woman who books all of her own appointments herself, washes and blowdries your hair herself, and then styles your hair. There was no shampoo assistant in other words. This is a very hardworking lady! 2) Shanni was warm, friendly, and professional without being 'over the top". She's a normal, chill woman earning a living. 3) Shanni has 1 stylists chair in her salon where YOU the client sit, while Shanni styles your hair. You can watch the tv she has on. Having the opportunity to sit one on one with her made me feel very comfortable. When you go to most salons you will see everyone in there getting their hair done. Shanni puts ALL of her FOCUS and ATTENTION on YOU during your time with her. I was AMAZED by this. 4) Shanni took her time braiding my hair for the weave install. This stylist took HOURS on my hair, and not once did she rush or burn me when using the flat iron. 5) Shanni provided me with a complimentary bottle of water upon request. 6) Her tone when speaking to me was very respectful and never dismissive. 7) My hair was done perfectly. My own husband could tell how pleased I was by the look on my face. I have had horrific experiences with other stylists. Shanni was truly a breath of fresh air! 8) Her skill level was top tier!
