This user has zero friends and only 4 reviews. I reported the review and Yelps response was that the review has been previously reported. Hmmmm.... The user states that Emery Weiner only accepts wealthy white Jewish students which is 100% false. Two weekends ago I had the pleasure of attending a Big Brother Big Sister event and met a lovely African American young man who is in the BBBS program. The boy comes from a low income family and is in HS at Emery and is excelling! In fact my cousin attended the school several years ago and was offered the a scholarship. The school enrolls students and hires teacher of all walks of life and income background. As for the school, the teachers are highly qualified and the facility is top notch. The school also offers West U little league and other sports leagues to use their grounds. The school is extremely welcoming to the Houston community as a whole. From what I understand is 100% of the seniors are college bound which is fantastic!

I thought sending my son to this school will be great because I use to go to this school called Allen before it became it was Kennedy. This school doesn't help your kids learn anything..They let your kids play around and do whatever they want to do. Mr. Fields (Special Needs Teacher) should be suspended and should never be around kids, he yells and screaming at kids and doesn't teach them anything, My son would come home saying he hasn't learned anything and that the teacher gives him a Chromebook to play on as if was at home on the weekends. One day, on my way picking up my son from school, I saw my son and two other teachers (Fields and Haywood) on a wet and cold day at the school park allowing my son alone play on the soak and wet slides, I was so upset asking the teachers "Why is my son not inside the building with the rest of the students? Why you have my son outside playing on the slides, It's wet and cold out here." They're responses that "My son ran out the building and that they decided to let him play until I got there. My son's clothes and shoes were soaked and wet. Lucky..I did a small prayer hoping he doesn't get sick. Ms. Doyle is a Special ED Resource Teacher as well, I had a ARD meeting with her a few times, She wasn't nice at all when I met her. She came to my car one day and told me "Is you the mother of the child" I said yes I am. She fingered crossed me and told me "Good luck" I was so bothered why she said that me. So I asked her at the ARD meeting why she told me that, Mrs. Doyle said I am trying to help you but you are not listening to me and flat out lied to me in front of the administration officer and said that I called her a "Angry White Woman" Like what? I didn't tell her that. Like wooow...I never said that and I said to her "You are going straight to hell for lying on me. I feel she is a racist. I felt like I was be harassed and attacked for no reason at all by her regarding my son. Ms. Hall wasn't a great teacher as well. I never met her and didn't know she was one of my son's other teacher until I get a phone call from the principal saying for me to talk to my son because he did something which I didn't recall my son doing anything what the teachers were saying he has done. My son was on the phone crying saying Ms. Hall jacked him on the desk and grab him by his collar shirt and she scratched him. As a parent, I immediately went to the school to find out what was going on with child being hurt by an adult. I took pictures of my son where (Ms. Hall) scratched him, I as a parent was devastated. I called the police. It took the officer almost 3 hours to come to the school. Finally when the officer arrived. I talked the officer about the abusive teacher laying hands on my child and a week passed by under investigation. I was told by a sergeant officer "there's nothing we can do" because we also had statements among the teachers as well. I asked the officer what was being said by the teachers, He said it was confidential. I felt in my heart that the teachers were making a false statements/report about just to have him kicked out at Kennedy. After at all, things just kept getting worse and worse. My son tell me that the teachers is cursing at him and threatening to hurt him. Another ARD meeting occurred, (Doyle, Principal, Field and Administrator) asking me to consider moving my son to a different school because they said my son wasn't a great fit for this school and that they don't have the resources that he needs. My question is why did they wait 2 1/2 months close to the ending of the school year to say something? That doesn't make any sense. They also didn't tell me whether my son passed to the next grade or not on the last day of school. Parents, I recommend you not to send your children to this school if they're special needs. Our child with special needs need love and care from teachers from school. Not unprofessional teachers who want to just get a degree just make money and treat our kids ugly. I hope my experience from Kennedy Elementary helped others. God Bless.

Southampton Montessori School is a private pre-school and kindergarten for children ages 3-6 years old. Located in the rice village area this school consists of classy little "cottage" classrooms interconnected with a beautiful and serene walkway. As you walk between the cottages you almost don't feel like you're in Houston anymore. Beautifully landscaped and well designed this school feels safe as every detail gushes class. A boutique learning oasis in the middle of rice village...classy and extremely well-run.

The target age is 5 years and younger, so most of the activities are designed for small children. Though it is a neighborhood park and less so of a destination. There are a couple of seating areas with shade and one large garbage can near the front. It is reasonably clean and the ground is made of a certain material that feels spongy and bouncy all throughout the premises. There is plenty of room to run around but not a lot of areas to sit. Street parking is available and there is also a small lot next to the community center. Due to the proximity to the White Oak Bayou + Greenway Bike Trailhead, there is bound to a decent amount of foot traffic. Dogs are not allowed and adult supervision is required.

Wonderful church. There is a strong, long standing community here. I attended for the first time…read morerecently and was welcomed by everyone. Breakfast is usually served after mass as well for a small donation. I look forward to being a part of this church.
