The planning is pretty close to perfect and I am seldom waiting for long. Have you ever gone to a salon where it's more social club and media outlet? Not here! While Rasheena ensures her stylists are respected for their craft, she is hands-on and on hand to ensure a well-run business. I love her and of course I love my Master Stylist Lawrence. The few interactions I've had with other staff here have also been good, everyone is polite and helpful. I appreciate that she reached out to obtain information regarding the behaviors that I experienced and because of that sincerity, and professionalism, my review is being updated. ---------ORIGINAL REVIEW------ Just when I thought I found a place where the hair stylist is on time and shows good time management when it comes to appointments...the rug got snatched from under me. Stylist didn't do the simple hairstyle requested because she was extremely behind schedule so she rushed to do A style instead of doing THE style requested for one of us. She then decided to cancel the appointment AT THAT VERY MOMENT for the other person without even discussing it with the person. When a client specifies the style they want in advance, there should be no reason you can't execute it if you didn't state so prior to the appointment. RECOMMENDATION: Learn proper time management. I don't understand how non- AA shops can do it but y'all can't. Be a center of excellence, not a center of excuses. COMMUNICATE with your clients. read more

I would like to give a review for new stylist, kimyra. I may have misspelled her name, but I just wanted to say how impressed I was with the way she cut, colored and styled my new bob hairstyle. Making a transition to shorter hair was a bit of a big step for me and I was extremely nervous as to whether or not she was capable of cutting my hair how I wanted it done. I showed her a few photos I was inspired by and she definitely hooked it up EXACTLY if not BETTER than the picture. I walked out of there with a new sense of confidence and I felt beautiful. I hadn't felt that way in a very long time. Please pamper yourself at the Lotus Beauty Spa. You may have a long wait ahead but it's worth it! (I went on a Saturday). read more

It's really sad that it has been months that the nail tech, Mai at this location, who has done my nails for years even prior to this location has refuse to respond, possibly blocked me and was not open to reflection of her behaviors crossing my cultural/personal boundaries as a Black Woman. (She's Vietnamese if I remember correctly). After my last hair & nail appointment at this location, Mai, felt comfortable enough to stand directly next to me and over me to observe my hair in it's natural state after I was washed. I'm usually braided, bunned or pressed out in our nail appointments and this was my second hair appt at this salon with Mai as a nail tech. She was up close talking to me but it was to clearly to observe my hair. She stared at my hair the whole time. It was odd. I felt uncomfortable and exposed. I was shocked she did this. She walked away as my stylist returned to blow dry my hair. Mai later reached out. She obviously knew she was wrong. I expressed to her that in my culture, especially in my generation and older, (I'm in my 40's) hair care can be a private matter culturally. The text was more detailed as I thought we were cordial and I could communicate/explain this to her. After all, she reached out. Her apology was a little overly sensitive and she said she would stay in her little corner. I told her that wasn't the tone I was going for and had a lot on my plate and I was just answering her questions. I thought things were still cordial and I simply shared I was trying out a Black nail salon to support Black Businesses in my community. After that she no longer responded to any text messages regarding hello, clarity, appointments...And my most recent text messages last month turned green so I'm assumed I'm blocked. She works in a Black hair salon but she has some Racial Identity & Appropriation concerns to work through such as the above and the following. Leading up to this experience at this salon I have experienced her: 1. Changing her accent from the one I have known for years to talking like a "down" black girl. Using Black vernacular and slang. Literally in front of me in one appointment. It was weird. 2. Only wanting to discuss Black shows/topics. 3. Saying she might be Black because her hair curls a little. At one of my last appointments, her boyfriend came and sat in the shop with her. Maybe she thinks the above behavior is ok, because she's dating a Black man. One would think this might make her sensitive to my side and embrace learning about my culture. read more

My stylist was Michelle, had an appointment at 10:30, at 11:45 I stood up to leave because I was not yet in the chair. Why is it so hard to find a good black stylist. I can wait 30mins for my appointment I understand hair takes time but 1.5hrs almost. I'm very disappointed and won't be back. All I got as I said I'm going to leave was "Oh I apologize, have a nice day". So I guess it's back to finding another salon. read more

Sharis finally arrived at 8:40 saying she had a family emergency BUT she also stopped at DD on her way in knowing she was late.

I just want to take a moment to express how deeply satisfied I have become with this salon. They are really hair care focused and very attentive to detail. Everyone is always so positive and friendly each and every visit. This is one of the few places who main concern and focus is customer service. Sheena is an outstanding hair dresser who at the very least, prides herself on her expertise and customer satisfaction. The braid specialist Kia is also well versed in the art itself! Kudos to you all for being available and still compassionate during Covid, while stile upholding safety standards. Words cannot say enough. Keep up the good work ladies! First of all during Covid your sink should not be falling apart you cannot even use the bathroom in this place it's appalling . Other workers are professional but I had "jhar " who took a 10 minute Chinese lunch break in the middle of doing my hair along with the annoyance of not being able to communicate because she had a blue tooth ear piece in the entire time talking to someone else. My experience here was the definition of ghetto . From complaints about my request to have my hair ironed at 380 and not 400 "burning point ladies " and as to why I don't need WET HAIR detangled with a comb. The manager has no care in the world and will always side with her stylists because lack of work force in America . Won't be back and it's sad because there are others there who deserve a better work environment this . read more

I came in with my daughter today at 9am for her appointment. The lady Ebony that was supposed to do my daughter hair, apparently she scheduled someone at the same time at my daughter. I told Ebony that my daughter was scheduled for 9am on September 17th, 2022. She was trying to debate with me about doing my daughter hair and had an attitude with me . This is not the first time Ebony has done this because she did this with my Mother when she brings for her appointment with Ebony and scheduled someone at the same time as my daughter and took them first. I have been going to Lotus for years now. Anika R. has been my stylist the entire time and she is nothing less than amazing! I continuously recommend her to all my friends and family (who now make regular appointments with her). I am extremely picky with my hair and Anika has always made my hair health her number one priority. Not only is my hair well styled (natural styles, press & curls, weaves, color, & cuts), but it is also healthy and continues to grow under Anika's care. Everyone at the salon is friendly and welcoming. I always leave happy and full of laughs. I highly recommend this salon to anyone I can. I love what they do and love how they make me feel.
