I decided to give a place in the neighborhood a chance as I'm tired of spending a half a day just to get my hair done. This place is amazing! When I called, I was able to get an appointment right away which is not common in my experience. The owner made my appointment with DJ, her daughter as she has had over 30 years experience working for L'Oreal and is amazing with color and balayage. From the minute, I walked in the salon everyone was very welcoming. It's a little bit of a throwback and it's an awesome one!! The place is clean and bright and there are people of all different ages there to get their hair done. DJ greeted me warmly and we discussed what I was looking to do. I had felt I'd become too blonde over the years and I wanted to be more of a dark blonde. She suggested I use a demi permanent so I didn't hurt my roots as I was just adding color, not taking color away since I was making it a darker shade. I wasn't sure what you expect after using ammonia products over the years but I could not have been happier with the end result. I recently went back for my second visit and had a haircut as well. Having curly hair it's hard to find someone who can cut hair and understand how much it shrinks up when dry if cutting wet. DJ not only understood this but pointed out how she was doing the shortest pieces to let me know she understood. I tend to leave a salon wet as I'm usually just running around and not doing anything fancy so I thought I liked my cut when I was there. When I got home later that evening and I washed it, I realized I LOVE LOVE LOVED the cut! Honestly, it's probably the first time someone has ever looked at a picture that I gave them and made it look better than that. I would highly recommend the salon and DJ in particular.
